- A wee little update on a couple of things, and how new front tires led to a completely custom fabricated, BOMBPROOF front axle for MULE. Please note that the spacers in the rear are temporary, used to get a feel for what is to be.
Wrench, wheel, wreck, repeat!

Life never conforms to us.
Keep on mowering on.
Hang in there Brother.
Don't blame you for shutting some things down, I had to about 5'years ago, got too much "downloading" for my head also. Take care of your noggin, it really appreciate the cleansing or less junk in. Hey man, get the rest, we will understand, if some don't, then, they didn't understand to begin with. Best of luck with the rest!
I always look forward to your videos, thanks once again for the time you spend to make them happen! Tractor on Doc!
Lawn Gone Thank you much for the compliment! It's positive feedback that drives me to keep doing them.
That front end setup looks really rugged doc! Want to build me one next? Lol... I've been thinking about upgrading the front end on both my rigs for a while. Going to be tricky though, both of them are very different. But I like what you have done, extending the wheelbase is a really good idea.
WRENCH ON!
Fearlessfront Thank you. And... Of COURSE it'll be tricky! There's only so much you can do to a machine before the challenges get greater. All part of the process, right? But- I'm sure you'll manage to think your way through it!
Fine time to leave me loose wheel.
Funny stuff Doc. Lol. I always enjoy your vids
Also, Love the Gilson made Lawn Boy's. I had one for a long time that was a loaner mower when I took in repairs so the customers wouldn't be without a mower. It was used and abused and survived many years. The Peerless (as we all know) has its weak points, but I've always had good luck with them so long as I thin out the Bentonite in the cases. Cheers Mate! Zip~ Oh...mine was a LT 12.
Good video man. I love that throttle setup
PuppetKicker Thank you!
Looks a lot tougher now, nice stance.
You should put a 4 wheel drive in one of your romping tractors
cool concept w the throttle, now we are gonna wait for jumping video now that the front axle is solid lol!!
speedjunkie66 The axle can take jumps. Not sure my back can!
Sprocketsgarage yeah i hear ya,im about your age and the things we did as kids we can't do now lol!
Love the Jeep look of that tractor.
That's badass for sure. Gotta love trailer bearings, one if mine was blown and I just went to tsc and got trailer bearings for my 1" spindles :D
Yea I'm still running stock spindles, yikes!!
They have major wear too, I can rock the right side wheel in and out at the top probably 2 inches.
Lol i already put some weld on em a while ago too, in done with that I gotta figure out a bearing setup :)
Brilliant repurpose of the motorcycle brake pedal! Pure genius if you ask me eh? Cheers! Zip~
Looks good & stout ! Nice work..
***** Thank you, sir!
That's badass Doc
A fixed front end means front fenders might be more easily installed, I think. I mean down the road of course. She looks wonderful as she is.
DORK SPRIGGIT! Straight outta da bush, raw an uncut.. kinda
I love the videos, was wondering if that throttle set up would it work on a wheelhorse with Kohler power and with a hydro set up? thanks again..
You should do a power steering upgrade that would be a great video.
Nice welds
It looks like that front end would accept front brakes without much fuss I'm confident u could fit a dirtbike rotor to those hubs
good job
Looks awesome. I am curious about the resistance those 22" tires added to the steering gear? Is it harder to steer with the extra width and have you thought about a steering stabilizer like what you would find on a straight axle 4x4 truck? Power assist steering?
daw718 I haven't had the chance to give it the full test package yet. I CAN feel additional resistance due to the larger meats, and it was expected. For simplicity sake I will not do power steering, but I may at some point convert to a rack and pinion, or a proper steering box.
nice front end, i wonder what you are going todo the backend
Josh Kilen I have a few ideas. Tough part is deciding which one I'll go with.
Just better hope you never take a Stick or something into the gas pedal linkage setup :)
Could see that being a FUN ride lol..
Maybe put a cover or skid on her
***** I probably will. I was thinking about that earlier, but decided that MULE's new front axle was going to take a fair bit of time so I'd better get on that first ;)
how did you build that box on the back I wanted to make a pickup bed sort of thing
Awesome job sir, and your machine is on a completely new level to anything else I have seen.
Wonder do... does he have a plasma cutter? For the pure joy of creativity of course, (toys-r-us) lol.
I have a project tractor - Westwood T14 for which I will be fabricating a front loader for. It is for use in my small woods. With inspiration from yourself and Todd C, I have already built a light off road tractor which is used daily in my couple of hectares and being small and light with a wee trailor makes life so much easier, gets under and around the trees also being of a light footprint dies not compact the ground.
I am on the edge of the Cairngorns in N Scotland.
Thanks for your vids sir.
For being a Canadian, you really do like SAE/Standard over metric parts. Sound more American in that way.
I'm a contractor by trade. A lot of contractors still work in Imperial, even though Canada has been Metric for decades. I'm fluent in both and a lot of my audience is American.
nice u should put your fb link in
Jim Rowlings I will add it to the video description. Thank you.
Are you going to fill in the old front axle pocket too?
daw718 I may. That can come later. Things like this are never, ever finished!
is it ok to say that a lawnmower is pretty? naw, i'll just have to say that it looks BAD ASS! kudos
8 degrees of caster seems like a lot
Not really. I've had great success with numbers like this.
Did you make the mufflers out of old torch tanks
Yes. As seen here- ruclips.net/video/4_B-Alo2Axo/видео.html
Don't shave lol!
Just let it go , Bush man look is what everyone wants to see
