Former football player of over 15 years. Ruptured my Achilles and had surgery this week. So far so good, swelling does get intense at night but I’ve been keeping it elevated and using the RICE method. Utilizing my core strength has been a major key in getting around post op!
How many months before the swelling goes away? I did an Achilles repair surgery 6 months ago still to this day at night usually my foot will become very swollen specially at the ankle area
I had a tarsel tunnel/Achilles/fascia release...foot doesn't feel to bad after 6 weeks, the back of the heal feels super tight..(scar tissue) but I do have a bad limp....is this normal at this stage or should i expect to deal with this...I'd ask my Dr but he's in and out in less then a minute ... please any info u can give would help...ps I didn't get any pain meds or anti inflammatory meds post op
My brother is an athlete doing warning up before his regular work out, yesterday suddenly during his football while standing and ready to run he heard sudden pop snapping sound from his left ankle joint then suffered numbness at the area of Achilles tendon, sought medical advice immediately and partial tear of Achilles’ tendon been suggested
Hi Doc! I had FHL tendon repair under my big toe 6 weeks ago. From rupture. 2 weeks before I had corrective bunion surgery and some scar tissue removed. So… here I am 8 weeks later and my calf is non existent and the pain in it is agonising. My foot is still very swollen and stiff. Is this normal?
Ruptured my achille a week ago and got myself in a cast 3 hours later. Im a mother to a young toddler, its been so tricky. I just want to get better fast 😢
@spoonknifey1015 thank you 🙏 I'm 6 weeks deep in recovery, 2 more weeks I get my moonboot off and into physio therapy. But I'm already walking around with no boot... slowly. Longest 2 months ever!
@Sarnt_Eskie good luck with the surgery, I didn't get surgery but the recovery is the exact same. I'm now 11 weeks post injury, I have to strictly wear my orthopedic shoes. I'm 3rd week of physio. I still cannot push off my toes yet my calf is soft and weak and still walk with a limp. Shopping around a mall for an hour and it starts to really ache. Still have to use the good foot when going off curbs or stairs as my injury is at its highest risk of rerupture.. the LAST thing I need lol.
@@courtneewho8906 how bad was the rupture?, ive heard people re-rupturing theirs after nonsurgery way, like on their 2nd month of recovery. Becareful and hope u recover fully!!! Day 1 recovery, In bed lol
Thank you, this was well informative without any filler material for time. I appreciate that.

Adviced to rest the leg and apply a splint for few days! Any thing should be done to help him resuming his normal activities
