I am new to tarot and really love to watch tarot reviews and taking professional tarot readers recommendations. So many people recommend deep diving for a year with this deck. I also bought Beowulf Oracle and Green man oracle to use with this one. Ty for really going over it.
Your review is amazing! Sometimes when I want to see a deck, I just want a flip through. But when I want a review, THIS is what I love! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and insights with us. ❤️ I just recently got this deck, and I am loving it!
Now this is what I call a review! Such a pleasure to listen to your thoughts about my beloved Wildwood tarot. At Imbolc I wille be starting to work again with this deck and the book A year through the Wildwood. So this was a very timely video for me..Thank you so much for this
Awww thank you. I’m honoured. It’s such a beloved deck in my collection. I recently did a really insightful exploration with it too. So it felt timely to finally record this. That’s exciting that you’re starting your journey with it it again. I hope you enjoy it. I’d love to hear a review on that book. It seems to be very popular.
i was thinking about buying this deck and was looking for a review for it. I stumbled across your review and loved listening to you talk, felt like i was right there with you.
I have owned this deck for about 2 years and kept putting it aside for "later". Its currently my deck for the month of July... I have become recalled back to my earthier decls after 5 years of feeling tired, disconne ted from the natural world and so stressed. Time to reconnect to the "authentic' me.. which sounds trite, but is what I am needing. After many months of messages from the natural world, esp birds... this deck hits the spot for me... the cards are calling me home. ❤ Thank you for your wonderful review.
I understand those call backs after a long break. I’m sure that’s what happened for me in around 2015. I hope you find that sense of connection and rejuvenation. It’s hard to feel that level or stress and things for so long. Wishing you the best on your journey with it. I’m glad you enjoyed the review 🥰
I’ve had this deck for a good while but I only just recently really started working together with it, as I’ve started on my spiritual/divinatory journey a year and a half ago and because of the profound complexities I knew this deck entails, really wanted to get a bit more of a confident grasp on my own abilities. That’s just me though, call it a bit of intimidated hesitation, but now I’m ready and so far my experiences have been incredibly raw and profound while working with the wildwood tarot. It’s a funny coincidence that you had cited & discussed the toothpaste part because I actually have those few sentences highlighted, lol. Excellent walkthrough. Even though I’m working with this tarot and forming my own relationship, thoughts, etc, I really do enjoy watching others share theirs and learning new things to possibly incorporate or just take away with. Thank you, what a wonderful video! 💜
I have such a bad memory, I don’t remember the toothpaste bit now lol, but I love the synchronicity. I’m the same with enjoying watching videos from others on decks I own. I love the possibility of getting some extra inspiration. I’m glad this could be one of those videos for you, and that you’re having a great time with your copy 🥰
Halfway through, and had to pause to say that this could quite possibly be the best deck review out there. No kidding. I literally just stumbled upon your channel, and SO glad that I did. Bought a used copy of the Wildwood over a year ago. A couple of the cards are creased, and i barely had my brain wrapped around the RWS, so I haven't worked with this. After listening to this, there is now a new deck with all associated books in my amazon cart. Im definitely ready now! Also, I've subscribed without even looking to see if you've done any other reviews like this, but I absolutely hope so. VERY well done! Thank you and many blessings ❤
Thank you so much. This is always music to my ears as these reviews are always an undertaking usually editing out interruptions or brain pauses 🤣 but I love to do them with old time familiar decks. I’m excited for you, I hope you have a different experience this time around. I do have some more reviews but not as many as I’d like. I’m planing to do more though 🥰 I have a playlist of what I’ve done already. Thank you for the lovely comment and sub. 🖤
I caved and ended up watching this and really enjoyed it (as I knew I would). Really loved hearing you speak about your experiences with this deck, it makes me more excited as I continue my Year in the Wildwood. (I'm so here for the long videos)
Awww thank you. I’m so glad you enjoyed it. I was pretty sure it wouldn’t be a spoiler for people doing the workbook, as I don’t have it. I’m really excited to hear how your year with it goes. 🥰🤩
This was an amazing review; I loved hearing about your musings on this deck. I can really tell it’s a beloved deck in your collection. It’s a deck I want to bring back out into rotation. I trimmed mine and hated it. So I’m considering getting a new copy. Thanks for another great video 🖤
Thank you, I appreciate it. It’s such a bummer when a deck mod goes south for whatever reason. Hopefully if you do get it back into use, it feels diff. 🖤
I loved this Tee 🦌 I dont own the Wildwood anymore, as the art style irks me, yet I am attracted to the concept. So I recently got a pod Greenwood instead - Chescas soothing art appeals to me more. From watching this, the decks wre essentially the same - just a few of the court cards have changed suit. The Greenwood feels more prehistoric and shamanic. I wondered if I needed a copy of the Wildwood book but will check how much of Chescas writeup goes into the system. Thanks Tee 🖤
Thank you lovely. I’ve always wanted a copy of the greenwood also, just because I feel really drawn to the artwork. I think any plans to redo it seem to have disappeared though sadly. I’m so glad you were able to get ahold of one though. That’s awesome. I’d love to hear how you get on with her write up. 🥰🖤
This was SUCH a beautiful deep dive and just refreshing watch honestly. I really appreciate you walking us through where this deck aligns w traditional systems, where it does its own thing, how it feels like a whole representation outside of the people in it. Really top notch review my dear. And so much yes to appreciating long form after tiktok culture has been reigning lol
Awww thank you so kindly my dear. Thou blesses me with demonic kindness. I’m so glad you liked it. Tiktok has its fun elements, but legit, sometimes I just want to sink into one thing for a while. So that’s what I’m focused on offering here. I’m glad it was interesting. They’re quite the labour of love when they’re this long. I think I still edited out 25 mins of extra ramble haha. So it’s nice to know it’s well received. I think I may do the Brady tarot next. 🥰
@@cosmic.creeper demonic blessings 🤣 it is very our brand, isn’t it? Lol. I’m always down for a long Creeper deep-dive, and Brady would be SUCH a good time with you, so very here for that potentially happening. 🖤 an extra 25 mins cut out?! Well, that’s really nothing for chatty kathys like us lol.
Lol it’s totally our brand. We need tops 😂👌🏻 re the 25 mins, that is very true. I feel most are weaker to our rambling than we are with each other though 😂 I had to toe the line at under an hour. I’m glad Brady sounds good. I’ve been meaning to review it for the longest time. Esp as it’s one of my most used. 🖤
This is an excellent review! I have had this deck for a few years now, and hope to begin truly working with it soon. I have Scottish & Irish ancestry and am obsessed with Celtic heritage, so all of the ancient Celtic symbolism in this deck definitely calls to me! I believe the figure on the Five of Bows is the Cerne Abbas Giant in England; the figure on the Green Man's cauldron reminds me of the horned figure on the Gundestrup Cauldron, which was discovered in Denmark and is believed to be Celtic.
A lot of the names came back to me after the review haha. Typically I forget more than usual when I need it most 🤣🤪 I’m so glad you enjoyed the review, and it sounds like you’ve got lots of exciting symbolism to connect with through this deck in particular. I love that 🥰
Thank you so much for this wonderful video!! The Wildwood Tarot has a special place in my heart and I’m on the verge to start A Year in the Wildwood, so this was a lovely way to start my journey ☺ I loved hearing your thoughts and insights - thank you so much for sharing! 🙌
Oh awesome. I hope you enjoying your year long journey with it. I hear fab things from those who did it a few years back 🥰 I’m glad this was a fun addition to your process too.
I watched this while modifying my deck! I've had such a hard time with the guidebook and writing. As someone who studied environmental studies with a focus in economics and justice, it's really difficult for me to get preached at/to with the idea of separateness in mind. After all, humans are Nature. However, when diving into just the cards themselves and hearing your enthusiasm, I'm feeling cozier with it. Thank you for sharing 🖤
Humans are definitely a part of nature, I agree. It’s funny how some feel we’re separate from or even when it comes to animals. I’m so glad the cards alone are still offering you so much to dive into and enjoy. That’s great to hear, and thank you for watching too. Also, how did the deck mod go? 🖤
Brill thank you. Yes to long-form, I started working with it on 1st Jan, it isn't a deck I would personally have used in my early journey, definitely a rich deck. I love how local it is to. Is he the Long man on the hill. I feel like long man tarot has said this is where his name came from.
I’m glad you enjoyed it. I think he’s called long man of Wilmington but it is a hill, so that would make sense. It’s a very rich deck, that’s a great way to describe it. 🥰
I am thinking that Mark Ryan could do a lot more with the guided meditations on RUclips or their website, after all he is an actor! And indeed he has made the writing a lot about himself. Re the illustrations \ Paintings, they were conceived between Chesca Potter and Mark Ryan, although I feel it was more her than him because the images are other worldly and so powerful. So Will Worthington had to redraw them from their brief, and I think he did so really well. Thanks so much for doing this review. I’m just at the beginning of my journey with this deck and am intrigued by the original paintings, so haven’t got this far with this reprint. There’s so much in it and I’m glad this deck is having a new wave of interest. ❤
Yea it would be awesome to see what they could do with this piece. I don’t have the original, although I’d love a copy, so that’s awesome you can enjoy both. They seem to have some a different vibe to them, despite having many connections too. Yes, it’s fun to see older decks get another wave of love. I hope you get a lot of joy from your ongoing explorations with them 🥰
I started with the Thoth deck years ago and didn't really like it, moved to the robinwood deck after that and dabbled with that for years, but lately getting back into tarot it felt a bit stale and not quite what I needed. Bought the wildwood deck after looking around for something new and MAN I love this deck. Exactly what I needed. I haven't really started going through the book yet but I've done a couple quick readings with the deck and it's got personality and a hint of cheekyness and so far has been very easy to read intuitively.
That’s awesome to hear. I love it when you find one that clicks. Sounds like right deck, right time. I hope you enjoy your time with it. It’s a very intuitive/story based experiential deck for me too. ☺️
As you know I'm working with the Wildwood currently...I also love Will Worthington ...the book is lovely but like you I feel it does have a owness on a autobiography of Mark Ryan. Lovely review ..I particularly enjoy hearing your thoughts about the cards...as you say they do veer away from standard meaning but I think that is good...makes you work harder to understand why they can communicate, well they do in my case 🤣💚💚💚💚
I hope you’re having a good time with it. It definitely does encourage creative engagement and intuition, story telling etc. I so love that about it 🖤🖤🥰

Thank you 🩵 Your discussion is deeply meaningful, credible, and a fair overview of this profoundly dense and thoughtfully constructed deck. Brava!!
Thank you 🥰 I’m glad you enjoyed it that much.
