I was ready to go to bed and wanted a video on wild wood tarot. This video was most like an introduction to the system and I greatly appreciated it going into purchasing the deck when I do. I love the druidcraft and have had eyes on this all year. synchronicity again :) thank you xx
+Blair Mirth I had the Druidcraft first as well and ended up having to have this one. I intend to work with this deck with the Wheel of the Year for 2016 :)
I really do love the look of the cards trimmed. I'm going to wait a little longer, but I'm pretty sure it's going to get trimmed. Thank you for your series on the Wildwood!
I just ordered this deck yesterday, and after listening to your in depth review, I know I was guided to them...they are perfect for what I want. thank you
It's such a stunning deck, I use this as my very powerful and personal deck for setting intentions and such, love it! Congrats on picking a lovely one!
Thank you so much +Diane G you are so very sweet to say so but I think it is I that am lucky to have found people like you who are so supportive and encouraging while we learn together!!! I wish you much peace!!~Kelly
I just pulled the trigger and ordered this and also the viking oracle. I cannot wait!!! These are my first decks. I have one tarot set I got at 5 below and while I think it's perfect for me to learn because it's rws based, I just can't really connect with the art. I'm german and I'm just starting on my path finally embracing witchcraft, I opened that door a crack as a teen once but it faded into the background again and I just now revisited it at 33 and I couldn't be happier with it. It's given me so much empowerment, I also knew right away my path will be heavily intertwined with norse and germanic roots. It just feels right. Like something I lost has come back and I'm enjoying learning so much. But I really can't wait to learn the wildwood and viking oracle. Super excited. And I love the artwork on both. I think the next on my list will be the druidcraft...
Thank you for your very thorough review of this beautiful deck. I have been looking into tarot systems that stray from the typical Rider-Waite story. I love this deck, and I'm scoping my favourite online stores right now to purchase one. I also like what you did with the printout of the wheel of the year from the guide book. I think I would do the same. Thank you again. This is an extremely helpful review.
Thank you for the informative video! I love the Druid craft tarot and have been eyeing this one. Just bought it for a friend but I’m definitely planning to get a copy for myself when I can!
I bought the iphone app of this deck and I love it so much I'm going to spring for the physical deck as well. Obviously without card backs I won't be annoyed by the copyright information LOL. I had looked into Greenwood but this deck is much more attractive IMO and of course easier to obtain and less expensive. I love the nature theme and the soft coloring of the artwork. Simply breathtaking! The elemental correspondences are perfectly done and I like the originality as in the departure from the Rider-Waite. Love it love it!! The court cards are so very lovely.
I have been binging your videos! I would love for your to do more videos on this deck. It's the deck I use and as a fairly new ready, this video helped me a lot! Thank you=)
As you started speaking on the price, and apologies for making multiple comments but I comment during the video and not at the end haha -I wish I could have gotten it for just 13 dollars. It's currently around 35 on amazon but I found it new, the set with book, and not a cheap knockoff, for 19.99 on ebay from a magickal shoppe. Given it comes with such a nice book I think 20 is certainly justified, although money is tight so I would have loved to save some more but I am so so happy I even found it for 20. There are so many beautiful decks out there. And I was really focused on getting a RWS deck, but when I saw these... wow. Just immediately felt the connection with the artwork. I am so excited about getting this deck. It's so beautiful.
I got the digital version and LOVE it! But realised I didn’t really understand how it worked. I’m going to get the hard copy too. Thanks for this video really helpful and informative. ❣️
hmm... still somewhat going back and forth over this deck. Although the stones nearly won me over (which is quite surprising as this suit usually isn´t my dealbreaker). Ah... I know I´ll end up buying it at some point, but it´s not its time yet. I LOVE the setup with the wheel of the year and thanks a lot for pointing that out so thoroughly!!!
Cuilfaen I do love the Stones in this deck too, Cuilfaen, as well as in the Chrysalis Tarot and the Pentacle suit is definitely not usually a dealbreaker for me either. I really do love the setup with the wheel of the year a LOT because it really does, for me, show the flow of energy between the elements and the suit in a very visual and natural cycles way! ~Kelly
You shuffle like I do and I prefer thinner card stock as well. I love my bonefire tarot but don’t use it as much because it’s harder to shuffle. I have really small hands too but I think I’m going to mod my wild wood tarot and keep the words.
All of November we're going to be looking at this deck and the concepts of the Wheel and the wood :D And I have never heard that one about how I sound, LOL :D
Thank you for the review and I happen to have The Arthurian Tarot and The Grail Tarot both from John Matthews and they are very different from the rws. :)
What an excellent review!! I have had this deck forever but have never been able to connect with it -- and I think its because I wasn't appreciating it as its own system. I am excited to work with it this Autumn!
Wild Moon Tarot I definitely agree, I had looked at it many times but just didn't quite "work" until I really understood it as it's own system and it really does help me learn about the Wheel of the Year! ~Kelly
Hi Kelly can you post the details for the November Wild Wood Challenge ??? Thank you. I just love this deck and just got the new workbook .... reading about quantum tarot!!! Whoa!
Ahh thank you, really. I planned to get a kit of wildwood tarot, instead of only a deck, which is also on the market, because I want the book. I want a book to get an in depth understanding of the cards, but I dislike the sturdy, huge box that comes with the kit. Apparently, as you said, it comes in an app where everyone get access to the book. I wonder if it is a full unabridged book that we can find in the app? Looking forward to hearing from you 😃
***** lol you have NO idea how much I had to cut out just to get it to even THIS degree of thoroughness LOL, I just go on an on and on but yes, I think scissors are in the same suit as Swords ;) ~Kelly
Bursleygirl ;) it's well worth it in my opinion and I spent a LOT of time going back and forth on this deck and originally decided to get the Druidcraft instead, I'm really glad I came back to it! ~Kelly
Thanks for this review! I do love this artist. His work is just beautiful with each card being an original piece of artwork. Not like the cut and paste computer graphic artwork on some decks. I have three decks with his artwork Druid Craft Tarot, Druid Animal Oracle and Druid Plant Oracle which I happened to pick up at half price books, Yay! I think I may be adding this deck to my collection as well. Your reviews are wonderful and you have a new subscriber:)
This is a really hard question because they are very different decks. The Druidcraft is a workhorse deck, just get down and do readings and bam. Wildwood is it's own system, it is really focused on the Wheel of the Year and doesn't follow the RWS meanings in the minors much of the time. For READING, I would have to pick Druidcraft, for setting intention and working with the Wheel of the Year, the Wildwood :)
I have this deck and it is my first deck. I read the booklet but the wheel of the year with the card confuses me a bit. Does it mean we only use certain cards during certain seasons? Or if they correspond with a season to give a timeline to the reading? And ik that with the RW deck if it's upside down it takes an opposite connotation. Is that the same for all decks including this one or with this deck would it not matter how the card is facing. Sorry for all the questions.

Chesca Potter is the artist and includes some excellent information here (via a friend - Mi-Shell) You can actually print out a "small" size of the deck as well. I did this recently, and I'm really enjoying them ;) Used copies of the Greenwood are very expensive, so it is quite wonderful to have this available.
***** Ah you have the Greenwood and the Wildwood, very nice! I know there have been some changes from the Greenwood to the Wildwood so it's not an exact reworking. I do have the Wildwood Tarot app as well so I'll have to compare the court information, thank you for pointing that out!! ~Kelly
***** I only wish I had the full size Greenwood - maybe one day it will be re-printed :D Until then I have my small home made version to study. I actually loved the process of printing them and gluing them together - even though it used up all of my colour ink! I really appreciated your thorough review of the Wildwood - it will always be one of my favourites!
I'll give here a go: Can anyone provide me with the card dimensions? I'm wanting to get this deck, but it seems to be out of stock all over the place. I'm trying to set aside something to store them in when I do get them, but need to know the dimensions. I definitely need length and width of the untrimmed cards, but would appreciate height of a full stack as well. Thank-you.
@@TheTruthinStory Thanks for the response :) I got mine in a couple weeks back and am all set. I've actually gone and trimmed mine as well. Just a little too big for my hands otherwise. I just need a corner punch now....
I didn't realize it was a different system but when looking through them I kinda had a feeling. I realize this is a very late comment but this is my first deck. Should I have started with a less (for the lack of better phrasing) different system?

One deck I trimmed, Paulina Cassidy, I believe, I never ended up keeping it. MOST of the time it works well for me but sometimes not.
@@TheTruthinStory Thank you for your kind words. I prefer no border by far and didn't realize that it might not work on all decks. I trimmed the Shadowscapes tarot and even though it's very small I love it much better. The cards gained a lot of space without the border. I personally hate keywords on decks because it makes interrupting the cards lose their mystery and the need to interpret them.

I've heard you say you don't do reversals before... can I ask you why? Is it that you don't want to do negative readings? x
+Sam Wright I was just telling somebody that I need to do a video on reversals, I will put that on the docket for this week! But the nutshell is two-fold. When I say I don't do reversals I mean that I don't physically shuffle the cards to come up upright and reversed (upside down cards). This doesn't work for me personally because it interrupts the flow of the reading for MY brain. I believe that the 78 card system is balanced between light and shadow aspects and doesn't need a full other set of reversed meanings, that's my personal take, I don't disagree with people who use physical reversals, just in my personal practice I don't find it necessary. However, I do see cards in shadow by the question that is being answered, the position of the card (ex., if the sun turns up in something that is hindering or needs to be let go of), and also by intuitive "feel." I hope that makes sense. It doesn't have to do with positive and negative, the 78 cards have darker aspects like the 8, 9, 10 of Swords, 5 of Cups, 5 of Pentacles, and so forth, all on its own without reversals. It's a tool, how we use them is personal so I don't negate physical reversals, I just don't use them :D (sorry that was a big nutshell, video coming!)
