In the competitive Smash community, there has been a lot of controversies regarding character bans. Our favorite blue hedgehog is no different. When the backstreet boys reunion tour started, all Smash tournaments moved to online and this is where Sonic shined. Sonic could time people out incredibly easy due to his speed alone. Sonix was the first one to perfected this style of play.

You know how sandopolis zone from Sonic 3 can be a really long level????? That's Smash Sonic when he's using Timeouts in a nut shell.
Sonic game's aren't just about speed there also about platforming and exploration, which can make some levels complex. Sandopolis Zone is the most extreme example of this.

Sakurai will sometimes reduce a character to their weakest incarnation if the character is too powerful. For example Ridley in Smash is reduced to his NES appearance, which explains why he is lighter than Samus. The problem is if fans knew that Ridley had to be reduced, then know one would request Ridley in Smash. Sonic suffers the same problem.
That's the problem with cross overs, not every character is equal in terms of power, so changes have to be made for balance.

Things I want for Sonic series for Smash 6:
1. Sonic side B being the boost mechanic + Frontiers moveset mixed in
2. Shadow, Knuckles, & Classic Sonic n Tails as playable characters.
3. A sonic boss battle if they ever do another adventure mode (Eggman or perfect chaos)

I'd say he lost all his personality. His idle animation looks like he was annoyed at you, but now it looks like he's just waiting for something. And "sonic speed" instead of "you're to slow!"

What makes me sad is I use to play sonic because I actually love sonic and his games. And I wasn’t even an annoying player but when I watched this guy I just got mixed feelings of sadness and anger that a pro player has to abuse a system to win.
