PSA could be making so much more money if they accepted restored cards and just give it a different label and/or knock the grade down big time. Because that's what CGC does with grading comics. Everything's accepted. Just be prepared for an ultra low grade or a different label if it's been tampered with.

Randomly stumbled across this channel... Fake cards are all over the place and it hurts to see when people fall for them.... For example.... When my roommate managed to get a hold of some old pokemon cards, I had my doubts as to their authenticity and found out quickly that they were fake... I am a weirdo that does collect fake cards, but it's to show others what to look out for and not to be fooled by these fake cards.
Great binder card but only at DMG price range. My opinion obviously. I haven't resold thousands but I have sold hundreds, the condition is everything. Even with "binder cards"

My charizard took minor bottom damage from an ultra pro one touch. Just enough to make me want to color match it.. but they should seriously make a touch up marker, patent pending.

i am genuinely offended by the sight of that Blastoise lol yea the surface looks ALMOST flawless, there was a VERY SMALL scratch on it that i didnt notice until i re-watched the video it shows in the light, i have a 1st Edition Holo-Foil Lapras from the fossil set that has that issue i personally wouldnt say that re-coloring it was what destroyed it, but the fact it was ripped with some of the white exposed, that would kill any potential of it being any higher than a 5
I wonder if the kid who sharpied the Blastoise did that so it wouldn't be disqualified from Pokemon tournaments. Those white spots on the back would have made it easy to know when that card was going to be pulled from prize cards or the deck.

My inverted card back Charizard got rejected, probably because of the stupid cut rules. Pretty annoying, because they do designate inverted card backs.
I'm not sure, that's a good question though. It's seeped into the paper itself; my guess is that would be extremely tricky. Plus it might still be flagged as altered if the process leaves any traces at all.
Honestly that's a good question as I've experienced it both ways. I think technically you are supposed to be charged since they had to undergo the grading process in order to reject the card. But sometimes if the grader is having a good day they don't add it to the invoice. But yeah, as a general rule it's usually charged.
I've got 3 first gens, Squirtle-ghastly and a rhydon do they all have the little 1 or is that only on sum? The ones I got don't have it so does that mean it's a fake card or what the dealio withhh that??

Yeah for sure, but that's one of the major draws for buying a graded card, knowing it's not been touched up or PSA would have caught it. The only thing odd is how they sometimes reject cards for being outside of the minimum size requirements. They can reject pack fresh cards for that, and it's hard to mitigate it. I recently submitted cards to SGC using top loaders because I feel like top loaders protects the card better than semi rigid and they didn't have an issue with it. I did however emailed them prior to submitting and SGC said semi rigid is preferred, but top loaders is ok. Just thought I'd comment here so people know that its ok with SGC using top loaders.

They're shut down for bulk orders because they received an overwhelming number of grading submissions during the 2020 lockdowns. They're still working through the backlog now (Feb 2022). Once they get through the backlog, they'll open up the bulk submissions again. It was many millions of cards they received.

Yeah that's a good point. There are fake slabs out there, but it's usually easy to tell the difference. The labels have security water marks along with proprietary fonts and inks. And the real cases are branded with PSA in the corners and are very consistent in their quality. There are other indicators too, but those are red flags; if you don't see the correct labels or the PSA branding on the cases. I might make a video on this subject now that you mention it :)

@@joeshaver1104 That's awesome, and congrats! Not exactly sure what flawless is, but typically PSA does count a sealed cards packaging as part of the card if submitted that way. For example, sometimes you can get promo card that is sealed in a clear plastic pack from the factory. If you submit it for grading without removing the packaging, they'll grade the packaged card as a whole and encapsulate it in a special capsule fit for sealed product. If you just want the card itself graded and slabbed, you have to remove any factory packaging from around it first, and then put it in a penny sleeve and toploader/card saver before sending it in for grading. Hope that helps.

yes it will and it will be snet back in a card saver with the label attached. I have gotten 2-3 cards back to not meeting the size requirement. PSA won't charge for size requirement failures but will if they reject it for trimming. not sure about the other rejection reasons
What about vintage baseball cards that are clearly trimmed {as opposed to the intentionally deceptive very slight trimming}? Does PSA grade them as authentic/altered? What about writing in pencil on the front, and back damage {taken out of a scrapbook}? If anyone knows for sure, please advise.

I refuse to use PSA. I sent 2 cards to CGC in March and just got them back Friday. Sent a sub to SGC on July 1st and got them back on the 16th. I choose to not wait til the value of my card goes down to get them back.🤷

PSA is all bullshit.. I sent my Mario Lemieux RC card in back in Feb. it returned in may a psa 7.. the card it mint and i know it should at least be a 8-9.. so i cracked it and sent it back and i received it back saying NO holder altered.. I'm beyond pissed
Sad..very sad. That a card ..that's rare and old and has a bad print from the factory getting a rejection. Usually error cards are worth more ^^ PSA should at least grade a bad printed card as Genuine.... Pfff

That is considered normal wear but would severely affect its grade but wouldn’t be rejected
PSa should say authentic and add trimmed on the slab since you paid for a slab .

If you've had cards in screw down holder that can flatten a card as well. They will turn that card down to.
They'd likely tag it as damaged or indented and grade it as a PSA 1 or 2.

You can remove it with rubbing alcohol but not totally and it can be tricky and damage the paper

Why is PSA so highly regarded when the font is ugly, Slab feels cheap, and it’s opaque for what? Beckett and CGC look and feel like it’s worth it.
Scrape the blue off with knife, or simply tear it off, or burn it. Why wouldn't they grade it then. It's would just be lower grade cause damaged
PWCC got thousands of trimmed cards into PSA holders. PSA is a weak operation compared to SGC in the Tuxedo Slab era.
