It says a great deal about her strength of character that she did not buckle, but instead charmed within mere seconds of her appearance everyone in the theatre and all watching at home with her unexpectedly adorable and quirky personality - and then entranced the same with her unforgettably magical rendition of Tomorrow. Her childhood dream is now on the brink of fulfilment, but her career horizon has surely now expanded far, far beyond the exalted but relatively narrow span of West End musical theatre shows. Sydnie Christmas: simply the best - simply the Sydnie!
... also her eye contact and facial expressions, and her body language are absolute perfection. She doesn't just sing this song, she performs it. She tells a story: a person who has experienced hope, a person who has experienced confidence and triumph, and a person who has experienced defeat and despair. And she does so in about two and a half minutes. Bruno is right on in his commentary. She pulls you in to her story and wrings your heart out in the process. It is beautiful.
Her second performance of "My Way" blows her audition, and finals performance of "Over The Rainbow", out of the water. Almost no comparison. You can see in her eyes that she is somewhere else...on another plane of existence...when she sings "My Way"....
Sydnie revisited the song, reimagined it from her perspective as a struggling artist--a childhood paean on optimism she transforms into a cry of adult angst, by changing "only" to "always" and selling it with her phrasing and physicality at the end, reflecting her own experiences with her career and the possibility that this will be her last audition ever.
My dog got put down 2day(Me and my Family were with him) He was really sick but we didn't know how bad it was. He's bloods were really bad and they are saying it was pancreatitis and he was in pain and sepsis had kicked in. I watched them put my dog down and I don't know what I'm gonna do now. But I'm telling u this because this video just gave me something to focus on even for just a little while so thank you.

I love your analysis to Tomorrow. I don't understand all the ways you can use your voice, but your analysis gives me more to see than just hearing the song itself. I love watching singers from other countries. There are so many really talented singers. One I came across recently is the winner of Norway's The Voice. Her name is Inger Lise Hope and every song she sang gave me goosebumps. She joins my top 4 list of favorite female vocalists. Sydnie Christmas, Abi Carter, Loren Allred and Inger Lise Hope.
One thing I love that I haven't seen mentioned is the way she enunciates "doller" rather than dollar. That is extremely American, and since this is an American play, I really love that meticulous attention to detail. In terms of her vocals, Jen is the perfect commentator, because as a musical theater performer, they could be sisters by another mother.
I love how you comment and analyze vocal performances, Jen. I was waiting for this one as it was Sydnie's Over the Rainbow that brought me to your channel. Also, check Loren Allred's Over the Rainbow. It's the same arrangement, her arrangement. She herself gave it to Sydnie for the final. The musical comment at the end of Sydnie's Tomorrow is Loren Allred singing that very song.

I've watched this dozens of times now and when I listen with headphones I can hear her shaky, nervous breathing. What a moment. That she could hold it together and produce this touching version of the song is amazing. She must be a very strong person to have that sort of dynamic control under those circumstances.

I wanted to see your facial expressions,... your emotions while hearing her for the first time. You deprived us of that. I held you high as a vocal coach and wanted to see your reaction to a master and you ruined my expectations. You interrupted again and again what everyone considers a master class performance (3 times). I subscribed to your channel in order to help you advance, but please understand, you or we may never have the opportunity to hear and see such a wonderful master of music again. Elegantly dressed in a gown for that performance, today is a bit more laid back with a more casual look. But still that great expression and storytelling. Have you evef thought that after 5 times stopping the performance in the same place, that enough is enough. I was axious to get to the next part of her song, to see how you might consider that, but I can't be sure you would ever arrive there, so I had to give up.
Jen, love your breakdown of people’s singing qualities and how they approach a song but may I suggest, after having watched your channel for well over a year that maybe you should consider changing your approach and listen to a song all the way thru twice with the first time just simply experiencing the emotion of the song and the second time doing a full breakdown, people would stay with you both times. Since I am not from the UK and have never lived there, I have been curious how such a phenomenal vocalist could have struggled to get a foothold in the West End theater industry. I am curious if her spoken South London/Kent diction might still create some kind of prejudice with London casting directors? I know it might have historically, but I am not familiar enough with how that thing plays out in the modern day over there.

Jen gave you the content she told us to expect in the introduction and many of us come here because that’s what we want. This isn’t a channel where we sit and watch someone sit and watch something. If you stick around, you WILL learn so much. If you don’t appreciate the gift this is, why not just not return? Jen has a very successful channel doing this. Your judgmental comments will not change the format but they do tell us so much about the person leaving them.

I’m consistently amazed at those who are told what to expect and then complain when that’s exactly what they get. 😂 Jen sings certain things in order to demonstrate how a singer achieves certain sounds for the purpose of educating us, not to hear her own voice. Thankfully most people are here because they understand the purpose of the channel and are here for exactly that. We know not every channel will be for every viewer, but I’ll never understand what makes a person feel like they need to leave comments like this. We can learn a lot about someone based on the comments they leave.
I love your reactions but really hate that you skip the intro. Background is important. I know it's an analysis video, but you talked about the intro for almost as long as it was. Just an opinion. But i skip every reactor that slips the intro. I liked you Angelina stuff, but.....😢

You “disliked” this, which is actually harmful to a person’s channel, because Jen did an exceptional job at commentary (which you admit) but she didn’t include what 4 judges said BEFORE they heard this person sing? She explained in the beginning why she left that part out when editing, but did refer to it and also left a link to the full video. The purpose of this channel is to educate about vocal skills and techniques. We got that and more. I’m sorry you missed it while focusing on something other than this incredible vocalist.

So the thing is with these talent shows, if you leave in the reaction of the judges alot of the times you gonna get copyrighted. And there wouldn't be a video to watch. If she left it in she probably would have had to lower the opacity of the videos or had a big bold text over the whole video.. Which then alot of the people would have complained about too. This is the best outcome.. We're here for the performance not the 40 sec introductions..

I think that you’d really enjoy Raye performing Oscar winning tears at the Royal Albert Hall. She’s with a massive orchestra and it’s phenomenal!

Jen sings certain things in order to demonstrate how a singer achieves certain sounds for the purpose of educating us, not to hear her own voice. Thankfully most people are here because they understand the purpose of the channel and are here for exactly that.
We know not every channel will be for every viewer, but I’ll never understand what makes a person feel like they need to leave comments like this. We can learn a lot about someone based on the comments they leave.

I know it's an analysis video, but you talked about the intro for almost as long as it was. Just an opinion. But i skip every reactor that slips the intro. I liked you Angelina stuff, but.....😢

We want the reaction. Not an analysis by a song coach who DID NOT DO what she did. Let your emotion tell us the story. Not the rubbish that not many care about when it comes to auditions. During auditions, we all and only care about the person achieving their dream. Your constant interruption is…not well placed.

You “disliked” this, which is actually harmful to a person’s channel, because Jen did an exceptional job at commentary (which you admit) but she didn’t include what 4 judges said BEFORE they heard this person sing? She explained in the beginning why she left that part out when editing, but did refer to it and also left a link to the full video. The purpose of this channel is to educate about vocal skills and techniques. We got that and more. I’m sorry you missed it while focusing on something other than this incredible vocalist.

1 Dislikes are only visible to the user, and do not effect either the algorithm or compensation
2 A subscription would have helped the channel, but not subscribing did not "hurt" the channel
So the thing is with these talent shows, if you leave in the reaction of the judges alot of the times you gonna get copyrighted. And there wouldn't be a video to watch. If she left it in she probably would have had to lower the opacity of the videos or had a big bold text over the whole video.. Which then alot of the people would have complained about too. This is the best outcome.. We're here for the performance not the 40 sec introductions..
