    When i do bootrec /rebuildbcd and then :A it says The system cannot find the path specified

    • @xeose9
      @xeose9  12 дней назад +2

      The Boot Configuration Data (BCD) store might be missing or corrupted. Here are a few steps you can try:
      1) Make Sure the EFI Partition is Assigned:
      - First, ensure the EFI partition is properly assigned with the correct drive letter (e.g., `M:`). You can verify this with `diskpart`:
      ```
      diskpart
      list volume
      select volume X (replace X with the correct volume number)
      assign letter=M
      exit
      ```
      2) Manually Rebuild the BCD:
      - If the automatic rebuild fails, you can try creating a new BCD store manually:
      ```
      bcdboot C:\Windows /s M: /f ALL
      ```
      Make sure you're replacing `C:` and `M:` with the correct drive letters for your Windows installation and EFI partition, respectively.
      3) Check the File System:
      - If the path still isn't found, the file system might be corrupted. You can try running a disk check:
      ```
      chkdsk M: /f
      ```
      If these steps don't resolve the issue, please let me know, and I'll provide more assistance!

    Thank you for the video. I was also getting a not found error for M path.

    • @xeose9
      @xeose9  11 дней назад +1

      The command is failing because the system can't find the specified device or path. Here are a few things you can try:
      1) Double-Check the Drive Letter:
      - Ensure you’re working on the correct drive letter where your Windows installation is located. You can confirm the drive letter using:
      ```
      diskpart
      list volume
      ```
      Then, make sure you're in the correct directory by switching to that drive (e.g., `C:`) and checking if the `Windows\System32\config` directory exists.
      2) Correct the Path:
      - Navigate manually to the `config` directory:
      ```
      cd \Windows\System32\config
      ```
      Then try running the `md backup` command again.
      3) Check for Disk Errors:
      - If the device issue persists, the disk might have some errors. You can run:
      ```
      chkdsk C: /f
      ```
      Replace `C:` with the drive letter of your Windows installation.
      If these steps don't resolve the issue, let me know what you encounter, and I'll guide you further!

      I'm sorry to hear that you're still experiencing issues. Here are a few additional steps you can try:
      1) Startup Repair:
      Boot from a Windows installation media (USB/DVD) and select 'Repair your computer' > 'Troubleshoot' > 'Advanced options' > 'Startup Repair'. This can fix certain problems that might prevent Windows from starting correctly.
      2) System Restore:
      If you have a restore point saved before the issue started, you can try restoring your system to that point. Boot from the Windows installation media, select 'Repair your computer' > 'Troubleshoot' > 'System Restore'.
      3) Safe Mode:
      Try booting into Safe Mode. Press F8 or Shift+F8 during startup to enter Safe Mode, then uninstall the problematic driver from there.
      4) Check for Hardware Issues:
      Sometimes, hardware problems can cause boot issues. Check if all internal components like RAM, SSD/HDD, and cables are properly connected.
      5) Contact Support:
      If none of these steps work, it might be best to contact your computer manufacturer's support for further assistance.
      If you need more detailed instructions on any of these steps, feel free to ask!

    • @xeose9
      @xeose9  3 месяца назад

      Hi, I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble with method 3. If chkdsk is stuck at stage 4 and the ETA / % are missing, here are a few suggestions:
      1) Wait:
      Sometimes chkdsk can take a long time, especially if there are a lot of errors to fix. It's best to let it run for several hours if possible.
      2) Run chkdsk in Safe Mode:
      Boot into Safe Mode and run the chkdsk command from there. This can sometimes resolve issues that occur in normal mode.
      3) Use a Third-Party Disk Check Tool:
      Tools like CrystalDiskInfo or HDTune can provide additional information about the health of your drive and may help identify the problem.
      4) Backup Your Data:
      If you suspect that your hard drive may be failing, it's a good idea to back up your important data as soon as possible.
      5) Check for Drive Errors in Windows:
      Go to This PC > Right-click on your drive > Properties > Tools > Error Checking > Check. This built-in Windows tool can help identify and fix errors.

      You might not be in the correct directory. To troubleshoot this:
      1) Check Your Current Directory:
      First, make sure you are in the correct drive where Windows is installed. Type dir and press Enter to list the directories. Look for a Windows folder.
      2) Switch Drives:
      If you don't see the Windows directory, you may need to switch to another drive. For example, type C: and press Enter, then try cd Windows again. Repeat this process with other drive letters like D:, E:, etc., if necessary.
      3) List Directory Contents:
      If you are unsure which drive has the Windows installation, type dir after switching drives to see the contents. Once you find the drive with the Windows folder, use cd Windows to navigate into it.
      If the issue persists, please share what you see when you list the directory contents, and I'll help further.

    Need help. Path not found after the Diskpart after attrib m:\efi\microsoft\boot\bcd -h -r -s 😢

    • @xeose9
      @xeose9  17 дней назад

      You're trying to access might not exist or the drive letter assignment could be incorrect. Here are a few things to check:
      1) Confirm the Drive Letter:
      Ensure that the drive letter M: is correctly assigned to the EFI partition. You can do this by typing diskpart, then list volume to see all volumes and their corresponding drive letters. Make sure M: is assigned to the volume with the EFI partition.
      2) Reassign the Drive Letter:
      If the drive letter isn't correct, you can assign it again:
      Select volume X (replace X with the correct volume number)
      assign letter=M
      3) Verify the Path:
      After confirming the drive letter, type dir M:\EFI\Microsoft\Boot to see if the path exists. If the directory isn't found, the files may have been moved or deleted.
      4) Rebuild the BCD:
      If the path is still not found, you might need to rebuild the Boot Configuration Data (BCD):
      bcdboot C:\Windows /s M: /f ALL
      If these steps don't resolve the issue, please let me know what happens at each step, and I'll assist further

    • @xeose9
      @xeose9  17 дней назад

      bcdboot command is not recognized, which could be due to a few reasons:
      1) Boot from Installation Media:
      Make sure you are running these commands from a Windows installation USB/DVD or recovery environment. If you're not in this environment, the bcdboot command might not be available.
      2) Use the Full Path:
      If you're in the recovery environment and still see the error, try using the full path for the bcdboot command:
      X:\Windows\System32\bcdboot C:\Windows /s M: /f ALL
      Replace X: with the drive letter where the recovery environment's system files are located.
      3) Check the System Drive:
      If you're not sure where bcdboot is located, you can manually navigate to the System32 directory by typing:
      cd /d X:\Windows\System32
      Then, try running bcdboot from there.

      I'm sorry to hear that it didn't work for you. Here are a few alternative steps you can try:
      1) Startup Repair:
      Boot from a Windows installation media (USB/DVD) and select 'Repair your computer' > 'Troubleshoot' > 'Advanced options' > 'Startup Repair'. This can fix many common startup issues.
      2) Safe Mode:
      Try booting into Safe Mode by pressing F8 or Shift+F8 during startup. Once in Safe Mode, you can troubleshoot and fix issues.
      3) System File Checker (SFC):
      Boot into Safe Mode or use the installation media, open Command Prompt, and run sfc /scannow to check for and repair corrupted system files.
      4) Reinstall Windows:
      As a last resort, you can reinstall Windows. Make sure to back up your important data before doing this.
      If you need detailed steps for any of these solutions or have further questions, feel free to ask!

      your system is stuck in a boot loop. Here are a few steps you can try:
      1) Access Advanced Startup Options:
      Restart your computer and press F8, Shift + F8, or Esc repeatedly before Windows starts loading to enter the Advanced Startup Options.If this doesn't work, you might need to use a Windows installation media (USB or DVD).
      2) Run Startup Repair:
      From the Advanced Startup Options, select 'Troubleshoot' > 'Advanced options' > 'Startup Repair'. This can often fix boot loop issues.
      3) Boot into Safe Mode:
      In Advanced Startup Options, select 'Troubleshoot' > 'Advanced options' > 'Startup Settings' > 'Restart'.After your PC restarts, select '4' or 'F4' to start in Safe Mode.Once in Safe Mode, you can troubleshoot further or try to uninstall any recently installed drivers or updates.
      4) Check for Corrupted System Files:
      In Safe Mode or using Command Prompt from the installation media, run:sfc /scannow. This command will scan and repair corrupted system files.
      5) Use System Restore:
      From Advanced Startup Options, select 'System Restore' and follow the prompts to restore your system to a previous working state.
      6) Check Hard Drive Health:
      Sometimes hardware issues can cause boot loops. If possible, run a diagnostic tool to check your hard drive for errors.
      If these steps don’t resolve the issue, please let me know the results or any specific errors you encounter, and I'll help further.

    • @xeose9
      @xeose9  5 месяцев назад

      Hey, it sounds like you're dealing with a cyclic redundancy check (CRC) error while trying to copy files. This error usually indicates that there's an issue with the integrity of the data being copied.

    • @xeose9
      @xeose9  5 месяцев назад

      Here are a few steps you can try to fix it:
      1. Check the source files for any corruption.
      2. Ensure that there's enough space on the destination drive to accommodate the files you're trying to copy.
      3. Instead of using the regular copy-paste method, try using a file copying tool that can handle errors more gracefully.
      4. Use the built-in Windows utility called "chkdsk" to scan and repair disk errors. Open a Command Prompt window and type chkdsk /f: (e.g., chkdsk /f D:) and press Enter. Follow any on-screen instructions.
      5. If the issue persists, there might be a problem with your hard drive or storage device.

    • @xeose9
      @xeose9  Месяц назад

      To identify and select the correct volume, follow these steps:
      1) List Volumes:
      Open Command Prompt and type diskpart to enter the DiskPart utility.Type list volume to display all the volumes on your disk.
      You will seem like this,
      Volume ### Ltr Label Fs Type Size Status Info
      ---------- --- ----------- ----- ---------- ------- --------- --------
      Volume 0 D Data NTFS Partition 931 GB Healthy
      Volume 1 C Windows NTFS Partition 237 GB Healthy Boot
      Volume 2 FAT32 Partition 100 MB Healthy System
      Volume 3 E Recovery NTFS Partition 500 MB Healthy
      2) Identify the Correct Volume:
      Look for the volume labeled as System and formatted as FAT32. This is usually the EFI system partition (ESP). In the example above, Volume 2 is the correct volume.
      3) Select the Volume:
      Type select volume X (replace X with the number of the correct volume, e.g., select volume 2).
      4) Assign a Drive Letter:
      Type assign letter=M (or any other available drive letter).
      If you have multiple volumes and are unsure, here are some tips:
      The EFI system partition is typically small (100-500 MB) and formatted as FAT32.
      The primary Windows partition is usually larger and formatted as NTFS.
      Recovery partitions are also typically small and labeled as such.

    • @xeose9
      @xeose9  3 месяца назад

      There might be an issue with the path or the installation itself. Here are a few things you can try:
      1) Check the Path:
      Make sure the path to your Windows installation is correct. You can use the diskpart tool to list the volumes and ensure you're pointing to the correct one.
      2) Use 'Y' Instead of 'A':
      Try typing Y instead of A when prompted. Sometimes specifying 'Yes' for a single installation can work better than 'All'.
      3) Bootrec Commands:
      Run the following commands in Command Prompt:
      • bootrec /fixmbr
      •bootrec /fixboot
      •bootrec /scanos
      •bootrec /rebuildbcd
      These commands can help repair the boot configuration.
      4) Repair Installation:
      If these steps don't work, you might need to repair your Windows installation using a Windows installation media. Boot from the media and select 'Repair your computer' > 'Troubleshoot' > 'Startup Repair'.
      5) Verify Volume Letters:
      Ensure the volume letters (like C: or D:) match the correct volumes where your Windows installation and boot files are located.

      If you're experiencing issues with the attrib command, make sure you are running the command with administrative privileges. You can open the Command Prompt or PowerShell as an administrator and then try executing the attrib command again.If the problem persists, there may be other underlying issues with your system, and you might need to consider additional troubleshooting steps or seek assistance from technical support.
