    Sensational walk-through - I really enjoyed that! What a fine ship she is. My father served for 23 years in the Royal Navy and I loved going aboard the ships he served on - walking down cramped corridors full of people, pipes, doors, cables and complex machinery brought back so many great memories - thank you!

    For those wondering why the Sailors were weirded out by the cam its probably because most ships don't allow recording below topside because of something called OpSec or Operational Security so seeing a dude walking around recording everyone is weird.

    • @AudieHolland

      So why don't they report the potential violator immediately, instead of just glaring at it wistfully?

    • @Bat8hitcrazy
      @Bat8hitcrazy 7 лет назад +16

      No one reported this because 1 there are scouts online looking for opsec violators. 2 no one wants to deal with that shit. I'm surprised no one shipmated whoever that was with that camera, oah yeah that's right this is the politically correct east coast bitch navy not the real mf'n west coast/ overseas Navy,

      Your literally 100% wrong. There's nothing in this video that wasn't able to be released. They were weirded out because some idiot is walking around with a camera. That's wierd. You have no idea what opsec is.

      Do sailors salute rank at sea in their daily business or is it reserved for formal occasions or certain spaces? I get that there may not have been any officers nearby the recording at the time just curious. Thanks.

They do have cameras' through out the ship for security and assist in the advent of fire. Al the Captains I have met have all been very thoughtful of their crew. You hear it on the 1MC informing them of events, music on main deck...or a run they will be doing....it's a lot of hard work, a lot of training and getting it all to work.

    For a ship just being deployed, she sure could use a paint job. We always had side cleaners doing touch up work any time we were in port. Usually it was sailors needing “encouragement” to shape up. I was one of them, many years ago on the USS Forrestal.

    Ah memories! This is not my ship, not my carrier. Aside from the numerous blue floor tiles? So similar in so many ways to my own ship. At the same time, different as well. USS Ranger CV-61, is long gone, blue floor tiles aboard Ranger, were saved for Officers country. Places where enlisted men, were discouraged from existing. Of course this ship is a "love boat," (all genders welcome!) My ship only allowed one gender aboard except for special occasions. Which nearly always occurred in port. It's still a navy ship, and the fittings, the vibe, and the crew's reaction to the CAMERA, so familiar. It would be so much fun, to visit a CVN, for a few weeks. Work with the crew, lend a hand on board. It seems so strange that it was 40 years ago. that I served aboard an aircraft carrier. Fair winds and following seas!

      @frackratsfenorki3689 7 лет назад +1

      Why would something like that break your heart? Aside from the color, which will be changing to NWU3 very soon, the NWU has been a god send. I started in the Navy in the old bell bottom dungarees. They wore out quick. Hard to keep cool when it was stinking hot, hard to stay warm when it was bone-chilling cold. Hard to keep from getting dirty and worn out. The NWU is comfortable, roomy, plenty of pocket space for gear, durable meaning they dont wear out, easy to clean & press, easy to bundle up in the winter and very breathable in the summer.
