Jojo’s does this thing where when the final battle for a part is approaching the main villain will pretty much hijack the opening. One of the coolest things ever.

@@Jhulian_R I should also explain that Traitor’s Requiem (op 12) has two variants that were not not added due to HEAVY spoilers. See the main villain of part 5 is the “lurk in the shadows and nobody knows what they look like” kind of villain. A good chunk of the part is the main cast trying to find out their identity, so the alternate variations of the opening were removed to avoid spoiling what a good 2/3 of the part were leading up too.

Openings 1, 2 and 3 were all done by different people but opening 4 was done with all of the artists of the first 3 openings. The vocalist (Coda) of opening 11 (Fighting Gold) was also the vocalist of the 2nd opening. Sadly the person who put together all of the openings didn't include the changed versions of opening 12 (Traitors Requiem).
My personal favourite opening is opening 11 (Fighting Gold).

You actually messed up completely the numbers, Fighting Gold is Opening 8, Traitor's Requiem is Opening 9. The one who made the video just counted how many there were in his own video, including alternative editions, and put that number. JoJo currently has only 10 openings (not counting alternative editions).
Numbers ordered correctly:
1. Sono Chi No Sadame
2. Bloody Stream
3. Stand Proud
4. End Of THE WORLD (Sono Chi No Kioku)
5. Crazy Noisy Bizarre Town
6. Chase
7. Great Days
8. Fighting Gold
9. Uragirimono no Requiem (or "Traitor's Requiem", both are correct)
10. Stone Ocean
Just 10, at least until December 1st.

Usually when JJBA repeat OP's but with small changes (or big changes like in the case of Breakdown) its connected with big reveals in the plot, be it who the big villain is, what their power is, a sudden shift in how well/poorly they're doing against said villain, etc. It's always super cool when it happens.
It's mind blowing honestly, if I knew the context would feel hyped AF!
@@Jhulian_R How much context do you want to have? "Just tell me stuff that maybe I could understand from watching the OP and thinking about it for a while" context, or "Tell me everything even if it means spoiling the story for me" context?
Also the last episode also has a special version with sound effects layered in like the pt 1 opening will have the gun shots sound out and the glass breaking or in the later parts that have the guy with zippers using his abilities you will hear that zipper part which or in say part twos opening you get to hear the steel clackers ring out so that's cool.
The sudden harmony changes in "Traitor's Reqiuem" OP 9 (or OP 12 in this video) actually make a lot more sense, as there's two extended versions of the Opening that the Poster did not include in the video, possibly due to spoilers. But I'd recommend listening to those yourself. Look up "Traitor's Requiem Diavolo Version" and "Traitor's Reqiuem GER Version".
The one who made the video should've included it, or not include any extended version 😣

I realized I had to comment when you said the first opening was unlike any anime opening you'd ever heard. The manga of that storyline came out in 1987, so the producers of the anime decided to take inspiration from anime openings from the 80's. An iconic 80's opening that comes to mind is "You wa shock", the first intro for "Hokuto no Ken" or as it's sometimes called in English "Fist of the North Star". Different instruments but a similar feeling with the deeper voices and dramatic shifts in tone. I love this stuff and I enjoyed your analysis and reaction.

Something I loved about these openings is that they have a very specific and caracteristic sound, I think maybe it will be so easy to recognize them, it's great when music and specially openings try to make the anime and music like a very big piece of art: All of it can tell about the story and create an easy way to remember.

That isn't really a good idea, it's just music not even made by Jojo, also the copyright
So cool thing about the openings and endings of this anime the creator of the manga Araki actually had final say in all of them and personally chose some.

Lo que me encanta de los openings de JoJo no es solo que a simple vista es una obra bastante completa a nivel musical, pero cuando has visto / leído el anime o el manga te das cuenta de que en los openings hay muchas personalidad e inclúso habilidades de personajes plasmada en estos openings, por ejemplo, en el opening 5 el hecho de que la canción de repente se pare en seco o que en el opening 10 la música retroceda hacia atrás digamos que no es casualidad, está relacionado con la historia que hay detrás de dicha parte y como te lo ofrecen de forma tan sutil las personas que ven esto por primera vez ni se dan cuenta de ello, eso es muy pero que muy especial y la verdad que no lo he visto prácticamente ningún otro opening de otro anime que haga eso de esta forma tan buena, además Jojo's Bizarre Adventure tiene un vínculo muy bonito con la música rock clásica y muchas bandas de distintos géneros porque Hirohiko Araki (autor de la obra) es un gran fan de la música, así que muchos de sus personajes tienen nombres de bandas, canciones y cantantes de rock de los 70-80-90 tal que algúnos nombres de personajes son (Dio (cantante), Iggy (Iggy pop), Crazy Diamond (referencia a canción de Pink Floyd, Will A Zeppeli (referencia a Led Zeppelin, y muchísimas referencias más como incluso bandas como Foo Fighters)), me alegro de que te haya gustado este gran repertorio de openings que la verdad los llevo a todos en el corazón, me alegro de que estés creciendo exponencialmente ya que en tus reacciones aportas algo de valor que otros no, sigue así y muchas gracias por aceptar recomendaciones.
El verdadero análisis es tu comentario 😵, suena a que Jojo es un trabajo de mucha creatividad y amor por parte de su autor e involucrados, un trabajo interdisciplinar gigantesco. Gracias por tremenda información, este crecimiento es posible gracias a uds y sus recomendaciones🙏🏽
Creo que Jojo fue una de las mejores cosas que me pasó este último tiempo. Es un conjunto de detalles artísticos creados con tanto mimo y esta todo sumamente conectado, la música explica perfectamente cada arco, cada personajes y cada giro de trama, y bueno el diseño artístico es singular hasta decir basta (incluso se dan el lujo de jugar con la dirección en algunos capítulos como si, efectivamente, fuera cine). Es algo que me encanta, yo que venía cansadisimo del anime en general, esto fue una bomba de creatividad y frescura directa a la vena. Suscrito obviamente.

Thank you, yes, sometimes is a little harder, but I'll improve and pay attention to both (even if I have to repeat more). I think the visuals are as important as the music in some of these!

PD: Por cierto no se mucho de musica, pero el opening 4 me parece esta construido en forma de una pequena opera, ya que tiene secciones como actos donde se cuenta visualmente y musicalmente el contexto del anime.

La razon por la que hay openings que son lo mismo pero con algunos cambios es debido a cambios importantes en el desarrollo de la historia a traves de la serie. Ya sea la revelacion de un enemigo, un poder que recibio un personaje, o el desarrollo de un personaje.
Por ejemplo, en el primer cambio que te confundio que fue el "Opening 5" (que es el opening 4 pero con un cambio), fue porque al final de la parte es revelado el villano principal y su habilidad, por lo que altera el opening y sorprende al espectador, el cambio del opening 10 es debido a que el villano principal desbloquea un nuevo poder, y asi va. Es un cambio interesante que hacen de vez en cuando, sin mencionar que cuando es el ultimo episodio de la parte (JoJo se divide por partes, son como temporadas) el opening suena con efectos de sonido, por lo que cualquier movimiento e imagen que se muestra en el opening es acompañado por el efecto de sonido que suena en la serie.
Lo mismo pasa con el opening 12 (que en realidad es el opening 8 sin contar las versiones diferentes de los openings), ya que tiene otras 2 versiones diferentes. Quiero suponer que quien hizo el video original no queria agregarlas ya sea por spoilers o porque no queria que la gente escuchara el opening 3 veces seguidas, pero los cambios que pasan en el opening si afectan a la cancion, asi que si no es mucha molestia me encantaria que reaccionaras a las otras 2 versiones! 😁 La cancion se llama "Traitor's Requiem", y de hecho es una cancion con opinion controversial, mucha gente dice que es su favorita y otra gente dice que es el peor opening.
Esa creatividad y escritura parecen estar a otro nivel, yo creo que me encantaría ver las otras versiones, hubo openings muy buenos acá, pero ese fue mi favorito u.u

Not sure if you have realized this yet but in opening 10 the video is played in reverse from end to start compared to the 9th one

You need to not skip through the alternate openings
By the way, Opening 12 also has different versions for around the end of it where the tone changes and extra scene/s are "added", just like how Opening 5 did for Opening 4, unfortunately these extra versions are missing in this Opening Bundle, but to be fair, they are kinda spoilery anyways. They do change the way the song is sung around the end though, even if only slightly, but it's so epic to know and see.
edit: least favourites are:
- 4/5 as I dislike the weirdness and how it is sung half of the song
- 12 as I don't like the tone change around the end, kinda ruins it for me
edit: best ones are (based solely on music):
- 1-3 and 8, as they are all in their own right massive bangers I would listen to everywhere. But the others are also great, just gotta decide on some outstanding ones!
