Despite the challenges posed by a declining deer herd, the team managed to score some dandy bucks, reflecting the perseverance and skill honed over the years.
However, the stark reality of the dwindling deer population remains a cause for concern, attributed largely to over-predation issues, notably the impact of wolves. It's disheartening to witness this decline year after year, prompting a deeper reflection on the delicate balance of the ecosystem and the pressing need for better conservation efforts.
Amidst these challenges, invaluable experiences were gained by all involved. Each moment in the wilderness offered not just opportunities for hunting but also for learning and adapting to the nuances of nature.

The last time I went over the bridge the toll was $1.50. That was over 40 years ago. I was born and raised a Yooper, went to college and moved away in 1983. I'll be 62 and retired in two years and plan to be chasing the white tails in the U.P. with my childhood buddy. I can't wait!!! Great video!!!

Was using my climber yesterday morning and had a 8pointer come in on me 1/2 way up the tree. Tried to become 1 with the tree but he seen me 😢

That was pretty cool Nick waited until you were done with you showing the new cabin before he told everyone he got a deer. That would have been the first thing I would have done as soon as I got out of the woods. Congratulations

I'm fairly certain that I could not pull this off, either.
Finally got the time to sit down and catch up on all these videos that came thru after getting back from the UP myself. Half way back across my phone Finally got signal and the notices went off for a half hour so when I got home there was 62 notices for just RUclips videos. Well congrats on the new camp Ben and crew and congrats on your buck, very well played out by the way, they never had a clue you shot one. We were just south of singleton and 7 guys in camp shot one dandy 10 pointer. It sounded the same camp to camp as far as deer sightings and as the second week went on that's when the deer started to move. OK on to the second part.
I have a 1986 F-350 white in color has a 351 V-8 Auto. Gd Trks. Altho I beat my trk up cuz I bought it to go in and outta woods for logging from cedar to hardwood runs great. I also have a 1981 extened cab F-250 Inline 300-6 cyl. 4 spd 4×4. My Favorite.. Body's nice on that trk. Love that Red Ford u got..

The gas fridge in the new camp doesn't appear to be vented. if it malfunctions it will give off carbon monoxxide gas. This happened to my neighbors camp and his son died from it! I vented mine and had no problems.ps i enjoy your videos! i hunt ontonagon county! Lots of wolves!

This is awesome, by the way you maybe able to get a new seal kit for that frig and it won't get that ice build up . here in PA. The Amish in lancaster county use propane frigs all the time, I'm sure if you look on line they will have it.

Sure miss my family deer camp back home in Marquette/Baraga County line. Love tuning in to the deer camp videos as I have spent the last 12 years hunting ND/WY and haven’t been home for a deer season since moving to ND in 2012.
Well that was a heck of a surprise with the new UP Deer Camp!! Exciting to have new camp and new property, but not gonna lie I missed seeing the old camp!!! Gonna need a wood stove in the new camp😉 Congrats on your buck Nick! Looking forward to the rest of the season.

My cousins have a large chunk of acreage in Central UP that we always did a Big Wall Tent Deer Camp at, however a lot of the guys are getting older and don’t come up anymore. One of these years I’m gonna take time off from Antelope, Elk and Mule Deer hunting out here and head back for a Wall Tent Deer Camp with the family.

Wish we had same outcome. Our camp is north of Seney wildlife refuge. Only thing we saw in 8 days of hunting was wolves. Wolves and more wolves.

This is the second or third time I’ve watched this video… I gotta admit I laugh every time at the “Thermostat just set your heat and leave, how neat is that?!” It’s the little things like that when your deep in the bush that can being such joy!

I subscribed to only a couple camp channels and this one is easily my favorite. I also have 2 camps in the U.P and I respect the hard work you guys put into these videos . its very demanding and difficult to do. I thank you for these movies!

Honestly.. The only reason I watch the videos is because they are real Midwest people who have what they have and do what deer camp is all about. Not about all the fancy shit and fixings. Family, friends and fun. FYI. I'm in Southeastern Wisconsin but hunt literally less than 2000 yards away from the Brule River/border of Wisco and the UP.

Great video, great camp you got there! Maybe this will be answered in a future video or maybe I missed it during this video, but are there any plans for the old camp? Keep it, sell it, take down the living quarters you have there, or whatever? I'll keep watching and possibly my question will be answered, otherwise, feel free to comment back to me about your plans for the other camp! Also, how far apart are the two camps? Where I hunt we have two places. 80 acres of just hunting land and another 40 acres about half a mile away in another county that has the cabin on it. We hunt the 80 acres more than the 40 but both produce deer.

Cool stuff,I know how you feel Ben, I tagged out on bucks this year. It was the weirdest feeling. I’m always chasing for a buck in rifle season, well this year shot an 8 10/29 with my bow, another 8 opening day of rifle about 8 am. So from then on it was a doe hunt. It changes your mentality. It was different.i didn’t have the same drive I normally have. I’ve only tagged out 3 times in my life of hunting for 40 years ! Nice 6 Nick!

Nice buck Nick! That's a nice landing pad for the camp Benny crew. The UP is something special, I spent 5 nights up at the Whitetail Warriors camp. Saw a couple does and heard a few wolves, one was close to Dan and I as we walked out last Wednesday evening. Cant wait to get back up to the UP eh! I still have couple days to fill my tag here in Allegan cty, hoping to drop one.

Maybe I am the odd man out here but I really liked the old place. Its not on 40 acres but I have a cabin like your new one and I want to get away from the T.V. and all the comforts of home. I started looking for a place to set up something like your old camp to get away from what your new camp is.
Still, you are all happy with the new camp and I am happy for you. I really enjoyed the video and look forward to more.
I completely understand. I still like the old place too. It was just too tight for me after 20 years. Also, something more desirable for my wife. The TV got old quick especially because my power comes from a loud generator. Still nice to have the option but it probably got used for an hour maybe 2 total in a week. It'd probably get used more if I convert to solar.

Been a good season in the woods. Got a nice 8 point in early bow season and a big doe this morning right here in allendale. 2nd buck tag I filled in the western UP on opening night of gun opener.

It was pretty cool as a kid watching my uncle stroll into our family reunions a pickup camper on it. For a years he'd setup a deer camp with it in Manistee National Forest.

Close enough that we can hunt both properties. 40 acres. More public land nearby than we could ever take advantage of.
