Grand Seiko Heritage Snowflake Quartz - SBGX355
001-545-11416
Regular price$3,800.00
Grand Seiko's SBGX355 from the Heritage Collection, known as the "Snowflake," presents the essence of Japan's changing seasons and nature's beauty. Crafted near the Shinshu Watch Studio, the snow-white dial mirrors the serendipitous beauty of the surrounding area, showcasing intricate patterns reminiscent of wind-traced Hotaka peaks in winter. Master craftsmanship is on display in the detailed dial, complemented by a vivid blued steel second hand for a captivating contrast.
Constructed with meticulous care, the 37mm case and bracelet are made from High-Intensity Titanium, renowned for both durability and a lightweight, ethereal feel on the wrist. The dual-curved sapphire crystal not only ensures clarity but also enhances durability.
At the heart of the SBGX355 lies the Caliber 9F62, a pinnacle of precision with 9 jewels and an impressive accuracy of ±10 seconds per year. The fusion of nature-inspired design, exemplary craftsmanship, and top-tier materials, including High-Intensity Titanium, makes the Grand Seiko SBGX355 a distinguished and elegant watch, capturing the timeless beauty of Japan's natural wonders.

Thanks for the review and especially the very useful comparison shots -- one of the first reviews available on the quartz snowflake.
My pleasure. I'm glad that you enjoyed it, and found it helpful. Thanks!
Very cool addition to the line! Wearing my Aqua Terra, no surprise there!
Please GS, do a clasp with micro adjustment or on the fly!
@4:30 was the first time I've seen a 9F not hit the minute markers. Please tell me it was just the camera angle
Nice looking watch. Think it has a niche appeal for some. Think for small wrists it would be great. I have a couple of gs quartz. Fantastic watches.
Have a sbgx033 on its way from japan. A grail gs, regardless of movement, or cost.
Size is great, I just think price should be more in line with the 36 and 40mm quartz GS. For a little more you can get the SBGA465 "morning frost" which I got last week and I love, and it's a spring drive with steel case and bracelet.
wearing an sbgx085 i bought secondhand in japan a few months back. Might be more inclined to buy a spring drive instead of another quartz
Btw. The best snowflake dial is the sje073. Easily the same quality of my gs. More unique also.
If it was still Spring Drive and 39mm it would be a winner. Thanks as always Chris.
And thinner
And thinner thickness
Why cant they make a higher beat rate on quartz? If it was smoother id consider it to pair with the skyflake
Nothing compares to the spring drive movement. I’ve yet to see any innovation from Swiss watch makers who can make the second hand sweep so smoothly
Is it just me or the angle of the camera but is the seconds hand not hitting the indices. If you want a snowflake then get THE snowflake. With that said I love my quartz SBGN005 GMT. Wearing my Rolex Air King Ref126900.
the hand is not meeting the indices...it was not just you...
I simply can’t understand why they didn’t put the 9F85 movement in this (it’s in the cheaper SBGP001, for exemple). The jump hour function on the 9F85 movement is genuinely useful for travel. Might have been tempted by the quartz Snowflake if it has this. But sadly, not for me - too expensive for what you get, imho.
Case size
I think this is a good move. No doubt the original Snowflake is an icon, but it is too large for some people. I like my SBGA001(sibling of Snowflake) but I don't wear it too much just became it's too big for my preference now.
Looks nice. Too bad it’s not a 9f85 movement, especially for that price.
It's great but isn't it too small?
It almost $4000 ...
no spring drive power meter? no sale
Lose the date and this is perfect imo
No! It´s not an option to the sbga211 springdrive, it´s a completely different watch with the 9f62. Way overpriced compared to earlier sbgx titanium models imo. If GS want me to pay premium, they need to fit the 9f85 in this case (or make a NEW smaller version of the 9f85).
Wearing an old sbgx005 as I watch the video. Why? Because OG GS is what makes them stealthy!
*snowflake should be called snowcrust, as that´s what is simulates...
Versus, not verses.
Dunno, hard not to feel like all this does is devalue their icon.
Too expensive IMO
Grand Seiko is wack yo. You gotta be a Grand Psycho ta buy dat crap nah mee!?!
Tf are you? Jesse Pinkman?
