I love that 37mm size! GS nailed it.
37mm definitely works for this model and it looks great.
37mm for the GS is great! I love Zenith Chronographs but wish they would make the sub dials all the same color. Tag Heuer chrono is stunning but should be priced around $10,000 Thank you for the market update. 😊
I disagree on the sizing. In my opionion 37mm is the perfect option. 36 can be too small, 38 can bee too big with white dials. 37 seems to be a sweetspot. Look at the longinges spirit 37.
Nice to see this model not getting forgotten. This is in the same case as the old heritage quartz models which are disappearing from the website.
Agree, the quartz snowflake would be perfect at 39mm
I think they nailed the size.
I LOVE the 37mm size!!! I have a small wrist and this is perfect...Thank you Grand Seiko! I hope Grand Seiko makes more 37mm watches.
I have the SD snowflake. Size didn’t bother me (7.5 inch wrist) and the power reserve is exquisitely executed and with 72 hours reserve very handy.
I’m expecting they will move to the updated SD that has a five day reserve that makes putting the reserve indicator on the back more appropriate.
I wish it was smaller, like 36 or 35mm. There are alread so many 39mm watches
37mm is perfect! 36mm is the old time men size. Finally they listened, wonderful!!!
The Snowflake stood out for me. However 37mm is right on the cusp of been too small for my 7” wrist and then you have to wrestle with the price being so very high for a (admittedly a great), quartz movement! 😮
I have the black one, and let me tell you.. it's so dark that you'll think you are looking through an open window to outer space.
I bought the black dial TAG glassbox chrono and was happy to pay retail even though I knew it wouldn't hold value. I bought with my heart. I doubt I would pay over £20K retail though I think the green dial tourbillion chrono is a stunner. Using lab grown diamonds in watch decoration is a good idea. Going by what happened with cultured pearls the price of lab grown will come down a good deal as production capacity increases. Diamonds in watches may soon be an affordable feature for those who like them. Another informative video, thank you.
I hope you're enjoying your glass box chrono! It's a great watch!
Agreed, 39 perfecto
That green Zenith is fire, love that and the pink, but happy this one is not limited (associated) any more
Thanks for the vid. What watch are you wearing?
I'm wearing Rolex Explorer 39
beautiful gentlemen size
Considering how big the 40mm GS wear, I think this is the perfect size.
I've owned 2 GS quartz models & neither hit every seconds mark every time. I personally spoke to the Seiko service center here in the UK & they said this is normal.
Really???!!!! It's just a scam?!
Can you please tell me how much seconds it loses every month?
BS if any of them are 9Fs then The Backlash Auto-Adjust Mechanism ensures that the seconds hand lands exactly on the marker with no shudder, adding to the precision with which the time can be read.
I too own a GS quartz (SBGN005), which has a GMT, and with that fourth hand, the seconds hand, being the first one from the top, is very far from the dial, making it a bit difficult to verify the exact position of the second hand when hitting the markers. It depends a lot of your angle of vision. I would like to know from the speaker, how is the precision of the seconds hand adjusted on this new GS? Thank you! Btw, I agree with you, 39 m would have been perfect!
Agreed for the 39mm snowflake! And I like high grade quartz movements, it could help GS autos' awkward thickness.
the watch is Quartz never planed to replace the real spring drive snow flake. gs will release smaller spring drive at some point 39mm or 40mm with short lug to lug
The watch looks perfect but I'd never be able to afford it xd
37mm is perfect
So, what you're saying, this is Mr. Bond approved
100% approved!
GS qurtz for 4000€ 😳😵🙄😵🙄😵🙄😵? You can find new 37mm new fro 1400$
Does the green zenith have the same bracelet as the O.G?
I think so.
@@24hourstime thanks!
I am amazed that Zenith is releasing a Complete Calendar Chronograph with Moon Phase for over $16,000.00. When Longines has one in their Master Collection for about 6 years and it sells for a fraction of the cost. The Longines is also a column wheel chronograph. Just some food for thought...
You can buy column wheel chronograph for 150 dollars lol, it’s all hype
But with a complete pointer date calendar, moonphase, 24 hour indicator, heat treated blued hands?
Disagree on your take on the sbga211 Not too thick, Power Reserve is great on the dial, size perfect 🤷🏻♂️
Could you please point me to a few watches witha Sellita SW300 for $500? TIA.
SW300 for 500 is nearly impossible 🤷🏻♂️ SW200 is realistic at that price
Tag has gotten greedy with their pricing and nobody is going to pay $20,000 for that watch.
Are you all dreaming??? Tag Heuer had a tourbillon costing more or less that before… nothing new here! And was the cheapest swiss tourbillon!!!
37mm for the Grand Seiko Quartzflake is the perfect size for me, especially for a light color dial. You'd prefer a larger size, I get it. But here's my problem with this video. How on earth 37mm is too small for a three hander, but the Zenith Chronograph + Triple Calendar + Moonphase is "the best release of the year" in a 38mm case? Don't you see how cramped this thing looks?
I have only seen a couple of Grand Seiko watches in person and neither one of them had micro adjustments on the bracelets so I wonder if they will ever add that feature, their Dive watches have micro adjustments on the fly but their dress watches have nothing. I just don't get it. They are thousands of dollars, not a cheap watch.
Looking at the comments I think some people need to read up on the Seiko quartz movement.
I don't understand why my when I close my right eye (left eye closed) my quartz GS second hand hit every marker, but as soon as I close my left eye and open my right eye the hand misses every marker...............I just don't get it. People, sometimes you seconds hand will be off but on a high quartz like GS you will not find this issue. These things are calibrated to hit every market. IF your hand is off GS can adjust it.
Its quite common , you have a dominant left eye. If you google ' Dominant Eye Test ' it will explain what I'm on about.
Aaron Rodgers version has Arabic numerals...
Good point!
Now that I see stick versus Arabic markers…I actually like the stick markers better!
I have the real snowflake, and the power reserve indicator is one of the reason why I like it so much. I wish that all mechanical watches had them. As for quartz movements, I have just three, and they are outcast to their own row of shame in my watch case.
Quartz (coupled with solar especially) has its place. As tool and activity watches they can be excellent.
Putting a cheap movement in an otherwise nice watch is a time honored tradition. Until very recently that was Tudor's entire business model. I may or may not agree with your assessment depending on how they price it.
37mm is much classier and dressier for that style
Great content, please price in dollars, thanks!!
Which dollars? Canadian American Australian? Lots of Euro converters online.
How much ! . Spits coffee over keyboard !! . 250k for a bloody Hublot , I need to lie down Oleg. If its maybe going to be the year of the Green Dial then personally I think Tag should have stuffed one in the Tri Compax Glass Box , except for it being visually appealing Tourbillons are pretty much pointless on a wrist watch, but each to their own I guess.
Maybe 39mm is coming 🤔🤫😉
I hope so!
39mm is too big for a dial only watch. even Rolex recognises this and pushed the 39mm explorer down to 36mm
There is no GS in the current catalogue which has a case diameter of 39mm, so if they were to release such a size it would have to be a brand new case. Somehow i think GS have larger problems to fix such as their bracelets and lack of microadjust, come on GS its 2024 not 2004!
37mm is so they can market it as unisex sizing.
I was interested in the new snowflake until I heard quartz. Size is perfect for me. Wake me when they do a 37mm spring drive version.
Why? Spring drive is too complicated, too many parts, too much maintenance with not enough accuracy.
@@pittss2c601 Because I'm interested in the tech. DUH! Why bother responding?
@@pittss2c601Are you on drugs or you dont know a shit about horology. Spring drive is more accurate than any swiss cosc, IT also doesn’t have balance wheel or hair spring so IT doesn’t suffer from timing problems or loss of time, there is no parts fatigue or metal scraping. It’s just one way continious glide which dont service intervals like traditional mechanical movement.
P.S if Tudor can have punny ETA 2824 in their 4400$ Watch I can’t see why GS haq wouldn’t cost also 4K.
@@dado380 GS quartz all day long. GS quartz already has plenty of gears and jewels internally. I am an engineer for a gear manufacturer. Keep it simple.
@@pittss2c601I love quartz but we need more visible case back.
$4,200 for a quartz lol. Only because of the dial. GS's basic quartz watches are around $2k, and just because of the dial, this is $4,200? What a joke.
$4,200 for a watch that has the accuracy that other top end manufacturers would die for.
besides the point. next @@thedelaminator
@@RabbitWatchShop You clearly like your watches to not accurately tell the time. Odd, as that's the whole point of a watch!
@@thedelaminator last time I’m replying to you: besides the point. Toodles
Once you look at the dial you will change your mind rabbit
Since it is small, it looks to me a bit feminine.
I really like your videos, so don’t be upset with this… but the green zeniths have more differences… arabic numbers…
Thank you for the kind words. Good point about arabic numerals!
Who tf needs a green £20g Tag tourbillon, candidate for worst watch of 2024 so far....
I think 37mm is a great size for the GS. I can't imagine GS making a watch in a size they wouldn't believe would sell well. It's a moot pont, thiugh. as I won't spend that much on a watch, especially a quartz.
But you would spend a lot of money on a mechanical? That doesn't make sense.
GS Quartz is a very different thing than low grade versions. They are literally the pinnacle in the technology in every respect and are built to be serviced and to heirloom quality standards and lifetimes.
@@pittss2c601 I won't spend that much on any watch.
@@PepRex No.
@@finesse49 Save money and spend your tax return on a new watch. That’s what I do. I also have several G Shock’s. They're awesome and get quite expensive however, there’s nothing like a Grand Seiko. Nothing compares.
Quartz are great for the purpose of telling time, but the whole point of a mechanical watch at least for me is that it's repairable by a skilled watchmaker and there's a certain romance that it will outlive you and can be passed onto the next generation as long as it's been looked after well it would function for many years to come. What do you do with a broken quartz watch 20 years later? and they don't make the same movement by then? Replace with a non genuine movement?
I guess you're not familiar with Grand Seiko 9F quartz huh? They are designed to be serviceable by a watchmaker. Heck, there are even videos on RUclips on servicing one. They are made and assembled the same way they do with their mechanical watches. Another bonus is that the movement is finished beautifully.
@@iRDude415 ok I should look into that. Fair enough if it's serviceable by anybody and not just GS. But I've been wanting to get a spring drive but dreaded over this serviceable issue
@@khazelnut I wouldn't worry about it. What I would do is just send in the watch for service/repair whenever it gets damaged (which would be a while). Grand Seiko states that you need to service the watch every 3-4 years but I would personally ignore that since the way a spring drive works is different than a standard mechanical watch. Since it's escapement is controlled by a tiny magnetic brake rather than a pallet fork which means less friction resulting in less wear and tear. So go with your heart and get a Spring Drive 😁
I wouldn’t pay even 2 K for a tag heur🤮🤢💩
LOL
Most watch people must be very small with small frame sizes. Little people. Plus, they are never happy with any watch size. If only it was 34.5mm or 36mm or 39mm...blah, blah, blah.
Even a woman can wear a panerai and look good. Some guys are just finding stuff to complain about.
😂😂 the bigger the better! We are not a baby doll.
I’m sorry your wrist is size fat
@@lengue2001 do you tell the first sentence to men on occasion?
Because not everyone is obese? Are you obese?
They all look the same
>Thousands of dollars for quartz
NOPE.
Yawn
lol
This channel has gone downhill. It's just watch news these days.🤷♂️
I think there are just too many sponsored homage watch reviews floating around youtube. This digest style one at least has saved us some time to dig into the internet. And I like it :)
@@wongtinlok1but you don't have to review homages to review actual watches.
@@S-Ltd1000 the problem is these average watch channels are lazy. They rather just review Chinese watches sent to them for free as opposed to putting the work in to get respectable brands in for review. This is why there are so many homage watch channel reviewers. You have a thousand subs and these Chinese companies will send them to you for free. They’re lazy
Hell No! Quartz? Sanz Spring Drive? I happen to like the power reserve indicator especially on the SkyFlake. Where's Mr.Bond?
He left after the intro. Said he has places to see and things to do lol
