Ludwig Göransson is a Swedish composer known for his work on NBC’s Community and is a frequent collaborator of Donald Glover (aka Childish Gambino), handling most of the production of his projects since Culdesac.

I think Mr. Goransson must have been a black African in a previous life. He connects SOO incredibly well and is extremely soulful as black people are. He seems to be a wonderful person.☺

seriously can't get enough of those talking drums, just the coolest sound ever. I really want to hear a dueling banjos-style dueling drums with those & some tablas.

0:36 the brass fanfare is epic ad and the fact that it goes along with the drums are amazing
The drums really shows the African sound, and then the fanfare adds the superhero sound to it.

I like how he literally recorded them playing the drums in an open environment for the T’Challa vs M’Baku fight scene
the talking drum gives me chills
I love seeing the process that goes behind all of this. You can replicate these sounds through VSTs/digital instruments (ex. stuff from Kontakt Library), and with a lot of tweaking/post processing the quality wouldn't be that much different to what you hear from an analog instrument.
Buuut there's something magical that you could never replicate through digital processing. The energy, the vibes coming from the percussion players and Ludwig himself is part of what makes this soundtrack special imo.
When it comes to all the superhero movie's OSTs from the 2000s to 2010s, Black Panther for me definitely gets the #1 spot, up there with the likes of Hans Zimmer's Batman for sure 💯🐐
At 2:40 was absolutely wonderful and epic. For those who don't know, the soundtrack is called Waterfall Fight

The best MCU Soundtrackd are in my opinion: Black Panther, Guardians of the Galaxy, Infinity War, Winter Soldier.
I know him from The Fruitvale Station, a really underrated movie.

Ludwig Goransson deserved that Oscar. The music in this film is absolutely breathtaking. Not only does it have memorable motifs and catchy themes, but each piece of music used to bring Wakanda to life does exactly that. It's beautifully extravagant and grand, while also being largely heartfelt, grounded, and engaging in all the right ways. The African touch blends with the nature of this society and these characters so extraordinarily well and I'm so proud all of these efforts to reach these great distances were paid off in the best way possible- Not just through its numerous accolades, but in its mass appeal and its lasting impact that has changed marvel forever and has changed superhero films forever more.
This was one of the best MCU scores, I have a lot of respect for Ludwig. Not only this, but his work with Gambino too.
