    WHY mispronounce your own last name, I cringed so hard. Not everything has to be pronounced in an english manner...

    • @TheTomtah
      @TheTomtah 6 лет назад +3

      Swedish people who make it in the US do iit ALL the time I've noticed. Same with the Skarsgård family. They pronounce it "Skarsgaard" when introducing themselves to american audiences. It's a strange phenomenon.

    • @joannerey4255
      @joannerey4255 6 лет назад

      TheTomtah then how do you pronounce those 2 names?

    • @TheTomtah
      @TheTomtah 6 лет назад +4

      His last name is Göransson. It's pronounced with a soft J and the Ö is a special Swedish character. The beginning of surname("Gör-ansson") is pronounced similiar to the "Jour" in journal or journey. So jouransson.

    • @brodiestephens419
      @brodiestephens419 6 лет назад

      TheTomtah I'm Australian, so we don't need Americanised pronunciations. What's the correct pronunciation of Skarsgård?

    • @brodiestephens419
      @brodiestephens419 6 лет назад

      I love basketball and another one that really annoys me is Americans pronouncing Jakob Pöltl! The commentators say "PURTLE" like rhymes with an American saying turtle.
      Most of them put a really strong emphasis on the (non-existent) R sound. Like "PuRRtle".
      Jakob is Austrian... and having been to Germany and Austria I know for certain an 'O' with an umlaut is not pronounced "URRR"?!?!
