I’ve never heard a bari sax played so beautifully before. I’m inspired. I have a bari sax that I play around with and now I have a sound to strive for.
Your attitude to the music is that of an artist. Let the music speak for itself, no ego, no bravado, just play the notes clean and in tune. There aren't enough players like this, bravo brave Haruka!

I was just thinking about bari in a classical context (and how to use it when writing) and how so many recordings of solo works for it have a strange bit of impurity of tone (or "noise", I suppose) to them, but yours immediately caught my attention with a distinctive lack of that impurity. My biggest problem when thinking of bari in a classical context is that it didn't have the same smoothness and purity of tone as soprano/alto/tenor, so in my head it was better suited to a blending role; but you may have just convinced me otherwise.

Coming from someone who plays bassoon and sax, Bari is a great choice to play this, tenor could also work, you just have to put a few notes up the the octave, but I love this sound!
As it was, she did have to take some notes up the octave, but bari definitely matches the range of a bassoon better. The drawback though is that you need altissimo to hit some of the high notes such as the high E at the end of the second movement. You wouldn't need altissimo to hit that on tenor since it's at the very top of the range. Also coming from a bassoon/sax player (primarily bassoon :))

@@nyancs7098 Yeah sometimes I miss playing alto because bassoon is so hard to play standing up 😂 not only is it heavy but you also need to use all 10 fingers to play it which makes it hard to hold while standing. I've played bari standing too and that's not very easy either

You can always just get the bassoon score on IMSLP and either transpose it or just read it as if it was in treble clef and add 3 sharps to the key signature 🙂
another good reason for never ever start playing the bassoon, besides that it is a absurdly expensive instrument which uses horrible reeds other instruments like the baritone sax sound at least just as nice if not better
Bassoon have MUCH more character than sax Baritone and the sound/vibrato is more free and cleaner. You just say that because you wanted to play bassoon but you couldnt and now you are angry with the fact that it wont sound as good as the original ;)

@@nyancs7098 yeah it's massive. Slightly lower than the bari's lowest note and up to tenor highest note (without altissimo)
@@willmorris8198 I don’t really like low saxes cause they’re way too heavy, tenor is the lowest I’d go but I love the sound of amazing Bari players

Why you gotta hate on the bassoon like that? I play both and the bassoon to me just has a beautiful tone. Both instruments are beautiful
I play both and of coarse it sounds better on bassoon cause that’s what it was written for, this is spectacular though
