I'm here today to tell you that because of your family's service to our country, you have been pre-selected for entrance into the local Vault! Vault 111!
Currents is such an incredible album, I'm so glad I finally gave Tame Impala a shot after so long. All 3 of Parkers albums are works of art and I hope he continues with the synth heavy instrumentals
@@UploadN0ob I always thought it just had tracks that were later put on innerspeaker, now that you brought it up I realized only the first song is reused later. I'm definitely gonna give it a listen now, thanks for the heads up!
@@UploadN0ob dude i think his self titled ep is better than all of his actual albums. even the ep version of desire be desire go is better than the innerspeaker one
Kenji Drake 1. Lonerism - 10/10 - Best tracks: Apocalypse Dreams, Keep On Lying, Nothing That......., Mind Mischief 2. Currents - 8/10 - Let It Happen, The Less I Know The Better, New Person, Same Old Mistakes 3. Innerspeaker - 7.5/10 - Why Won't You Make Up Your Mind, Desire Be Desire Go
Yeah I tend to flip flop between current ls and lonerism One one hand the songs themselves are much more interesting on lonerism , but sonically and when it comes to atmosphere currents is so much better imo. Overall can't say which one I like more, maybe years down the line I'll have made up my mind.
And now Parker seems to be having trouble again finishing his current album. He says it's harder to be motivated when everything is going so good. Oh well, if it brings me half the joy Currents did, I'm sure it'll be worth the wait.
I loved this video: Short intro and getting straight to the point, exciting story-telling, fitting visuals and of course the story itself is awesome. Dont even wanna know how many hours these 6 minutes have cost you.
Getting my favourite album into the collection was great because it's a gorgeous vinyl package all around, even the sleeves that hold the records are custom made with pictures of Kevin and his studio. It's sick.
I liked this album when it came out. I liked it a lot and thought it's a great musical achievement. But after a break up last year, I listened to it again and this time the album another Color, the personal emotional connection to the album's theme took my love for it to the next level and it became one of my favourite records. ever.
Absolutely brilliant. Informative, well-paced, and so inspiring for upcoming musicians and recording artists. Nervous breakdowns are part of the process!
Holy Hell, I have said more than once that Tame Impala sounded like the Bee gees on Mushrooms. Tame Impala is my guilty pleasure. Most specifically "The Less I know The Better". Bad day, I listen to that, Good Day, I listen to that, If I forget what day it is, I listen to that. Such an amazing band.
Yeah i know but it would be nice to be recognized as a Grammy award winning band. Not some band my co workers thing.. who's this other no name band that you love. Glad Arcade Fire won one! hehe
Was one of the first records I ever bought when I picked up a record player about a year and a half ago. I love it, everything about it is amazing. The music, the artwork, even the record sleeves are super cool. So happy I bought this.
This is terrific, especially for Tame Impala fans and a great departure from your usual stuff. It's like a bite size version of the boomer rock centric Classic Albums series for indie artists.
I'm impressed with this video, such a high quality content, very hard to find nowadays. Going straight yo the point and very sober storytelling, keep it up with the good work my friend you're channel is gonna keep growing.
Just found your channel recently and have been binge watching a bunch of your videos. Your content is top quality and I wish I found the channel sooner. Would love to hear a review of “Jeff Buckley - Grace” , one of my top records and seeing your love of 90’s music including Nirvana and Radiohead I’m surprised you haven’t reviewed it already.
I never even knew that currents Was inspired by rumors by fleetwood mac. Before knowing it I was planing to buy a rumors album poster after the poster if currents and now I want to buy one even more.
That's not his studio, it's an air bnb that he rented for a few weeks to make the album. It's called Wavehouse Studios Injidup Retreat if you're ever in Perth and want to check it out :)
Great review!!! I actually bought the collector's edition! I do prefer their previous albums more but this is still highly ranked for me. Saw them live in Chicago a couple years ago, and wow was it something. In 'Let It Happen' I love it when it changes at about minute 5, something about it. Nangs, one of my favorite tracks, is pretty stellar especially when it's about to drop into the drums you hear the slight bass which is sick. 'Yes, I'm Changing' another amazing track, when it goes into a dreamy dream (haha) at about minute 3, something about that part gets my heart pumping :) I'd go on, but surely you know how well Parker executed his music abilities on this album. (Also Disciples😍)
Wow, you need to do more of the "making of" type videos. This was really well put together. I know doing research, editing, trying to figure out how its all going to flow can be time consuming, but can you make these and hour long, hahaha.........ok, ok 30 mins. :)
Could you possibly review a King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard album in the near future? this video was really great and I think their music would relate heavily to a similar genre and style as Kevin's work. Either way I strongly recommend King Gizz!!
Kevin is a genius! He is the John Lennon of this decade. If you research this young man you will see he struggled to find his place in life. Please don’t judge anyone without understanding what they have gone through and how much pain they have suffered. The world has become a cruel place to be. Kevin has done his best to turn this around.
I'm not a huge fan of Tame Impala's recent albums, but I have a ton of respect for the production and writing. I do have to say, though, I like psych-rock Tame Impala more. Edit: Currents and TSR have very much grown on me since.

Your editing is too good to be this underrated
What makes it good? Just wondering, I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary
Kooky Thymes probably the camera cuts, color tones, and how he integrated clips. The editing was definitely not done by an amateur.
Currents is Kevin Parker`s best sounding well produced album to date but Lonerism is his best album in terms of songwriting in my honest opinion.
