My 40 to 150 is so sharp I use it to shave! But on my 3rd 14-42. The first two both failed after about a year, but the 3rd seems to be wearing well, although I seldom use it these days. What a wonderful model she is, her photography skills shine also.
I broke my original one and this new one doesn't seem as good. It's true I think they come out different from the factory. Prob QC isn't that good for kit lenses over pro.. but you pay for it. Jerry prefers to be behind the camera lol 😆
Great to hang out with you both! An interesting place to visit with you, and as always beautiful pictures! I totally agree with you on the 14-42EZ! I got mine as a kit zoom on my E-P7 and the lens surprised me - it is a great lens, as is the E-P7! Please keep your entertaining videos coming! Cheers!
As usual I enjoyed that Roberto. I had 2 copies of the 40-150mm f4-5.6 R and both gave them away with a camera to what are now happy Olympus users. To me the Olympus adventure started of with the E-M10 MKII and the 14-42mm EZ and 40-150mm lenses. I have made so many nice photos with these lenses and I often wonder what lens I would keep if I could keep only one. It would probably be that 14-42mm EZ lens, because it enables me to keep my camera with me wherever I go.
Yes. That pancake is so compact. On a sunny day it's the best pocket and go. Never let me down for sharpness. No harm putting a few primes in the other pocket.. lol.. these things are so manageable and fun. A true motivator when thinking of going out for a photowalk
Hi Rob totally agree that the 40-150 punches well above its weight. Although the 14-42EZ is great for images and practicality I’ve now had two that have broken with issues that appear to be common faults. I will not be replacing it this time.
I've heard about that from a few people. I guess the motor inside goes first. Manual zoom better. I've been lucky with my two copies. Got a silver and black one. The original ones are not pancake
@@robdido I have the 14-42 iii that was a kit lens for the em10 mkii which still works fine. But the lens which is attached regularly is the Lumix 20 mm 1.7f. It’s truly what MFT is designed for.
Good video Roberto, nice pictures again. The picture of Jerry in the little tunnel was worth the effort. There's not much wrong with the kit lenses - the build quality isn't great and the smallest aperture is a bit limiting but optically I find them perfectly acceptable. That line of trees looks familiar!
That's a huge generalisation. A kit lens for my E-m1x is the 12-100 F4 zoom. It's a professional lens. When new, Canon's kit lens for the 1Dx Mark III was a 24-70 F2.8L.
Good one. 😆 I could rate my photos on an asa score.. haha. From 50 to 1600.. looking back on the TV some of those colored ones are way over saturated. I need to maybe calibrate my monitor or brain..
Recalls the WC Fields expression. “Never work with children or animals.” Who’s the top dog? Jerry or Roberto? Nah, love it what a team. A most entertaining video well above average suburban amateur. Olympus EM10 mkii the poor man’s Leica. Affordable compact takes great images.
Haha. I share a bday with Mr Fields and yes Jerry is top dog.. she leads me to the photo 😂.. wise words there, I reckon it's the poor man's x100v and it can change lenses too. Retro cool looks and with some twerking can even get some film simulations going.. haha. Thanks woody. Great comment 👍
Those lens are good to me too... my only down size... swapping often between the two... ohps i need 60... let s change... tfis is perfect for 20mm.... and so on...
Same. I got the 14-150 and it's softer but still good enough for my needs in the end. That 40-150 still punches above in my opinion. They made them good
Get used to going out with a single prime. Make the photos you can, don't lament those you can't. I have done it a lot, I'm much more flexible as a consequence.
Yeah. I hardly go in too busy. I'm a suburban guy. If they let Jerry on trains id go more 😆 amazing the developers haven't got their greedy hands on that place
excellent vid as always Roberto, i have both these lenses on either my em10 mkII or my epl9 perfect lenses for these ans pin sharp like you say. EDIT: both my are silver and they rock with my 2 camera epl9 white and the matches the chrome on the em10 mkII so not poxy ;)
Always good to see another episode of your average suburban photographer
Cheers. Umberto and Flike 😆

The tree photos and man on road my fave 👏👏👏. Spike was watching Jerry on TV He wants a supporting role 🤣
Sydney biggest secret this place.. amazing nobody knows about it.
@@robdido never knew about it 👌 Wow

Yeah. Funny how not many people in Sydney even know this place is open to public and Jerry 😆 I got both mine in a double kit with em10ii
Very good and enjoyable video Jerry, I’m glad to see that Roberto is there to carry your equipment. Be well and stay safe.
Haha. Lucky she shoots m43 and not FF.. I'm getting too old carrying around gear
Great video, images and the star Jerry!
Thanks. Jerry loving the open fields. Not so much modeling for me.. haha

Thanks. Yes the weather proof and aperture limiting.. your average suburban lenses 😆 I think I saw some guy edit those trees once 😜

Love the b/w tree pics by the Average Suburban Amateur. ASA is the ISO of analogue photography come to think of it.

@oneeyedphotographer yes good advice. I experiment with my 17, 25 and 45.. let my feet do the composition 😆 better quality too.
I Googled that place it's big. I went to Sydney about 10 years ago I thought I was in New york it's that bloody big.
Yeah. I hardly go in too busy. I'm a suburban guy. If they let Jerry on trains id go more 😆 amazing the developers haven't got their greedy hands on that place

Yes. Actually I originally loved silver and chose it for my em10.. but lately I'm loving the black look. Looks great on the epl9. Very classy
Jerry Fan Club.
Lol. She loved that place. Good open fields to run... Supposed to be on leash but she's a rebel
