Throwing your gun boxes away is a bad idea. I work at a gunshop and when people sell their guns back to us, the box being included always gets you more money. Keep your boxes folks.
As much as I love case hardening, this one is very attractive. I'll be interested in seeing the detailed one!
Wait wait so a single action can only be fired when you pull the trigger....thats not what alec baldwin said........hmmm
Though I tend to be a purist, I like the addition of a transfer bar here, since it allows safe carry of six rounds without changing the external appearance of the revolver.
It's like Taurus made a hybrid of a Colt and a Ruger to have features of both.
Four clicks with a transfer bar sounds really neat, especially for new shooters. Colt manual of arms, but safe. This is the way it always should have been.
Nice looking revolver. I think wood grips would have been a better look for it.
It looks like Taurus just brought the Gaucho back with a new name.
its a gaucho just changed the name
As a “ budget” gun, Taurus has ALWAYS included nice plastic cases! Makes you wonder why the expensive boys skimp on that with their cardboard!
As it's the deputy, the only authorized way to carry it is unloaded with a single round in your shirt pocket.
I live in the UK. I am so envious. Love that gun in white grips.
I had my grandfather's 3rd gen Colt which was like this gun but it was not an Army Colt, it was a genuine 45 Colt revolver.
The first thing I noticed was that it's shiny, unlike the cousins across the pond that are dull or color case hardened, or even nickel plated.
A good combo is the Taurus Deputy with the Rossi 92. Both are made in Brazil and under the same ownership.
Thanks for reviewing these. I love my older Taurus Gaucho with the 7.5" barrel and I'm happy that they decided to bring these back so I can finally find the other lengths easier. My older one had a bit of a soft base pin so hopefully they've fixed that on the newer ones.
Seems like a nice firearm. I'll stick with my Ruger Blackhawk though. I actually prefer the changes on it from historical (best of both worlds to me).
Dustin, Thanks for the review on this weapon. It appears solid and well built. Though using the transfer bar action, I'm pleased to see that the cylinder rotation is a positive one, and not like those ridiculous Rugers! I'll be looking forward to the full review. Taurus has really stepped up their game over the past few years, and have been producing some remarkable weapons. 👍
Very cool. Glad they didn't put a stupid safety on it. Good job. Can't wait for the fll review.
