No problem Michael, as you know we bed our animals on Woodchip, there is a fair amount of softwood (pine) in the mix which has a mild disinfecting action, I do intend to get it all dug out and spread, if I can ASAP, followed by a blast off the walls etc with the steam cleaner. If the weather stays friendly, I still have time. 🙂👍🏼

good all round replacement for the skid steer would be the mini Merlo good around we machine and ideal for a farm your size

Hello Farmer P.... Hope Mrs P is feeling a lot better in the morning. Only a migraine sufferer appreciates just how blindingly awful and painful migraine headaches are.
Question.... Why do the young cattle kick up their hind legs, particularly when they go inside the barn. Don't notice it with the adult cattle. Is it a display of joy, fear or just showing off?
Joy is the nearest description, adults will join in sometimes as well 😄👍🏼

Ian a question, why do the cattle have one horn and the other sawn/cut off, the new barn is looking better with the full roof, fingers crossed the smaller barn will be roofed next week.
Sometimes horns grow back after dehorning. It looks untidy but as long as the regrowth doesn’t cause problems I leave them alone.

@@FarmerP for this vid it did show up as new but not for members only i know it's not your fault it could be down to my side but it's not hard to find the members only in community vids

I know you have a lot on your plate, .... you are looking like you could do with a night or two of good sleep ... just sayin cause when you are run down that is when we get sick, and in the times we are in you want your bodies immune system on full alert ..... just thought I'd throw that out there .... sure your videos are deeply appreciated, bet everyone would understand if you took a day or two off to recharge your batteries in the evenings .... a sick boy can't do nowt .... the spread between milling and feed is that priced by weight or volume and is the difference pounds per unit or 10s or even 100s of pounds per unit .... you were so happy with how the crop was turning out, can you sell what is in the barn now for milling or is it all feed now ... just curious how big the gamble determined by the weather is ... thx for the peek into your life FP ..... as always .. never stop dreaming, just dream bigger .. have fun be safe, save our oceans ...
So many things can effect the value of your crop Peter, we won’t know ours until we have a sample tested in a laboratory. Bushel weight, temperature, moisture content, hagberg results, protein content, demand… All effect the farm gate value of your years investment. If you need to add extra transport, cleaning and drying on top, that will also chew into your bottom line. Farmers are the biggest gamblers on the planet.
I would be bored if I took a whole day off. 😄

Well I had figured on the old supply and demand thing, that affects everything, but had not realized all the other little intricacies that you mention. Your contractors sure have it figured, get paid no matter what you get paid I would imagine, are they hourly or by volume. Hell and it even seems that they can affect the price you get if they delay your harvest because of equipment failure. Anyhow, enough of that my mind is running away on me here. Very right what you say about being the biggest gamblers, you stay up late but you don’t get to sleep in. .. smilin …
Was not implying you take the whole day off, you have too much on your plate to afford that luxury, I was just implying that maybe you enjoy your pillow a bit earlier a couple of nights in a row. I know you are in that space where you feel guilty if you don’t get a video out. Am sure most would understand if you missed a day or two to fortify the old immune system. You know in your gut what you need to do.
