I have a problem with my mixes when I master my tracks the drums and vocals come out perfectly but my melodies are mostly are not wide enough please kindly do a video for me
If you’re in an untreated room and you drive your preamps loud the vocals may be harsh cos of resonance. In that same untreated room, if there is noise and you record too low, the noise may end up almost same level as your vocal. In my opinion.. if your room is not treated don’t go for as loud as possible.. just go for a healthy signal

-18 is too low. You should record the highest possible without distortion
