Video Request: Please add comments for someone struggling to lose weight. Will do. (1) Watch all the Choosing My Health Videos - she is pretty funny and real, (2) Its the science buy and read Michael Greger's book "How Not to Diet", (3) How long did it take you to gain weight? This is a lifestyle change not a temporary "diet" so have patience, (4) eat whole foods that are not processed and in Jesus name you do what you have to do to implement that in your day. I'm a busy, stressed lawyer, and I learned how to make my own meals - the wife was not on board for a long time when I started this - (Ok cutting up veggies is really not that hard and neither is putting cut vegies in the fridge for later in the week) (5) exercise at least 5 days a week even if for you that means walking 50 yards a day to start, and as you feel better add more (6) keep track of your weight daily (and if you fall then today is a new day get back to it) and (7) YOU ARE ON YOU WAY - YOU CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST JESUS WHO STRENGTHENS YOU, (8) find out when Amazon Deal Days starts, look for sales, and start saving because you will need a whole new wardrobe!!! If a fat stressed lawyer lawyer in his late 50's who sits all day could go from 245 to 170 (what I weighed in the military in 1981) then you can! Finally, you will become mentally sharp, you will feel better, you will have more energy, your outlook on life will change, those aches will disappear, your blood work will vastly improve and you will feel like a new person - so don't keep the new you a secret - go and help others!

This is soooo random. Melissa is the genuine and real article. I have been really sick, and she sent over a lot of healing food and fruits and her own food that she made. It took a lot of time, effort, and money. I am so grateful for her. Hoping that she gets lots more subscribers! She truly deserves it.

    Right on all counts.
To those of you looking to lose weight, please keep in mind the following:
    1. When it comes to your diet (and by 'diet', I mean the foods you eat and the nutrition and sustenance you receive from them), all of us are working against deeply ingrained habits, handed down to us culturally, via family and via our own experience. That said, changing bad eating habits for better ones takes time, and it is vital that you give yourself the time to change them for the better. That said, it is best to take an incremental approach to changing habits and to weight loss.
    2. Weight loss is a journey, and the goals of reduced weight, better health and fitness should be looked upon as part of your new lifestyle, as opposed to the goal of dieting, which can be started and stopped at any time (and always stopped when the going gets tough, as all diets inevitably turn on some form of deprivation).
    3. Always remember: progress, not perfection. Falling off the wagon is an integral part of the process, and when you do fall off the wagon, simply get up, dust off your backside and get back on the wagon.
One last thing that should have been mentioned in this informative video is the psychological dimension. Often, we eat things we shouldn't for reasons rooted in our mental realm- think past trauma, or some association with a person or event that conferred good feelings.
I could say a lot more, but I will end with this: kudos to you for choosing your health!

Here’s my positive note for anyone wanting to lose weight…. You can do this!
If possible, don’t keep processed snacks in the house, Do keep “Majool Dates” handy 3 are a serving… Take some dates and soak them then puree/blend them into a paste = for a sugar substitute, (yes even in coffee) Also take fruit that may spoil soon and purée or freeze some and put some in fridge, use as jam…. on 40 calorie be read, or on another piece of fruit… do the same with frozen peeled banana and some fruit blended into nice cream! these items can be healthy snacks and are satiating, they have fiber and will help facilitate weight loss… ALSO remember it took YEARS to gain the weight, so take your time making small permanent changes to your lifestyle like walking every day, like this video said … interval fast slow walking 3 days for 1/2 hour, then increase time… You got this! Remember that if you lose focus, just start over at your next meal with the healthy choices! don’t wait until the next day! it all counts! 🤗🤗🥰🥰

I’m thankful for your channel and appreciate that you foster “community” among your subscribers. I’m 7 weeks in to my Whole Foods plant based journey as a result of a really high cholesterol test after 4 years of keto. I LOVE this food and don’t miss animal products at all. Sooo… I’m definitely eating too much but my weight hasn’t changed. I’m trying to get a grip on sodium as of just last week. ☺️. Happy Moms’ Day!

I’m so glad I found your channel. Everything you teach is exactly what I had learned from my own research and was doing for years. But i know I’ve been off track for the past few years, mainly stress related. You have reminded me and reignited my motivation for eating healthier so I can lose some weight, feel healthier and not feel discouraged when I look at myself in the mirror. I was very skinny as a kid, to the point of being teased endlessly. I’ve been thin most of my life. Now at 71, and not obese, but definitely have the belly chub (your term is perfect). In my younger days I never thought I’d have this many ‘jiggly’ parts! Thank you for teaching what you have learned. ❤

I just discovered this channel a few days ago. Had to subscribe immediately. Been plant based vegan for three years. Started right out the gate 100% alkaline and was still feeling bloated. At start of pandemic, I slowly began to eat more processed vegan food and that which is not considered alkaline (unfortunately).
The salt tip…thank you! I really needed that. Had not been paying attention much to salt and now I will! I’m constantly bloated and thought it was just result of wheat so I’ve tried to eliminate or at least minimize wheat products. After watching this video, I now realize sodium is also the issue. Thanks again for this informative video!

First time I went vegan I only lost 5 lbs, however my cholesterol dropped 11 points. However, I went back to meat and my cholesterol is higher than it’s ever been. Back to vegan and making better choices. I also like intermittent fasting, it helps me to keep the fat gjrl inside under control. While the scale don’t move much, the inches melt away. Try fasting it works!! I do 16:8 and drink lemon water during my fast, if you feel like you going to die, add a pinch of salt to the water. You can do it! New subdue by the way, love the channel!

To anyone trying to lose weight:
I know your tired, and life is hard. But hunny let me tell you, if you go to the gym today you will feel better afterwards knowing you did what was good for your body. And just remember when you are struggling to get to the gym just take a deep breath give yourself a little pep talk and go kick some cardio, weights, plyometrics, or HITT. You can do it! And if you don’t want to go to the gym there are so many at home workouts or even playing a physical sport at home. You can do what helps and works for you. You can make that lifestyle change it starts with one step and a conscientious thought. 💡❤️

I average around 3300 mg of sodium a day while consuming 2300 calories on average. I also drink over a gallon of water a day while strength training heavily for about 1.5 hours a day six days a week. Like I be soaked in sweat by the time I leave the gym. Should I still reduce my sodium intake because I feel that I'm losing a lot of sodium daily? Great channel and keep up the great work!!

    • @ChoosingMyHealth
      @ChoosingMyHealth  2 года назад +1

Hey Kevin! How awesome! Great question. As a bodybuilder/weightlifter, your sodium requirements are higher than those who sit around all day. In fact, bodybuilders may want to consider adding more sodium to their diet, especially if they’ve been feeling tired after workouts. If you ever have concerns, you can always do some blood work to make sure things are normal, and monitor your blood pressure too. All the best on your health endeavors! 💪🏽😊
