I had Speed Engineering 1 7/8 long tubes into their true dual rear exit kit and I absolutely loved the way it sounded. When I get done with the LS swap in my obs I’m going to be getting that kit again to use mufflers, piping, and tips
And FYI… just from years of experience, install wrap from the rear to the front. Exposed seams in the direction the exhaust is coming from traps more moisture/dirt
I just installed mine and yours seemed like a much better fit than mine. 2 bolt flange at y pipe was clocked too far and non of my hangers lined up especially the one at the dump I had no choice but to weld a new hanger. Sounds good and not loud which I like but the fitment was very terrible.
Nice video Travis on the green beast... Speed engineering is quality stuff... That's a good idea.. remove the bed and por 15 the frame.. it'll look sweeeeeeet....👍
@@TWAMotorsports that 55 Bel air is your Big project.. and so is your TA.. wait....so is my 94 TA.. .. have a great week and I'll catch you Thursday night on your next video....
Just to make sure I understand this. You’re using heat wrap, where there isn’t a heat concern, to protect against a possible clearance rattle where you’re reducing the clearance by putting the wrap on?
I find the speed engineering mufflers too loud for my taste... I normally go with magnaflow muffler and kooks high flow cats and get a builders kit and v bands and a short flex pipe and go custom for my combos. Sounds killer, though. On my v6 to v8 swap rcsb, my Texas speed headers were really close to the frame on the passenger side, but it's not that close on my factory v8 truck... maybe something to do with the swap motor mounts or something. Overall, it's a really clean setup and truck! You can also adjust your cams chop a bit with idle under and overspend spark tables in hp tuners. Killer truck and very tastefull!
Travis, I have the same type of y-pipe setup like yours with no cats. Just long tube headers with a turn down out the back. After getting help from HP Tuners on my 5.3, one of the issues before and after the tune was a strong exhaust smell and was recommended that I get a high flow cat on both sides right after the collector to help with the exhaust smell. The truck runs perfect post tune now and isn't running rich or lean. Do you guys think that this is normal since the cats have been deleted? Also I've got a BTR Stage 4 cam in it which may contribute as well.
Travis. You mentioned that your engine shifts and rubs/hits the frame passenger side. I noticed that that particular oxygen sensor is right against the frame. Does it work ??
You are the only person I’ve found so far running the single 3 inch from them, I want to buy the single for my 04 tahoe, do you know if it will work or would I have to add length ?
How loud is this exhaust?… I’m looking for an exhaust that is just a little louder & deeper than the stock exhaust. I already have speed engineering headers & y pipe.
@@TWAMotorsports thank you for your honest opinion. That is what I thought, I just wanted to be sure. I was looking at the Borla Touring or the Magnaflow 18”
@@TWAMotorsports Since you have a catless y-pipe. Do you have bad exhaust fumes smell?… I’m doing a 6.0 swap on my 2000 Silverado & I have bad exhaust fumes smell. Also, my truck is not tune yet as well.
The section you heatwrapped, would it be possible to bypass the short flange section that attaches to the y pipe and use a straight pipe to the muffler? Or will it not clear the cross member where you heatwrapped?
That truck just gets better and better! Way to go!
Thank you
Your truck sounds perfect, not too loud.
Thank you

Yeah they sound pretty good
Exhaust sounds great. You're right on the driving part, I gotta give it the beans when taking off for that sound, even at my age 😎!! ✌🏻
Lol. Definitely

Makes sense. Thank you for that tip

That's weird. May move the part right in front of 2 bolt flange

Yep. Did it to keep it from rattling on the floor
Love the green truck!

Very normal without cats. Will always smell rich even though it isn't
I like the height of your truck, what are your lowering kit numbers and size of wheels plus how your ride, smooth or bumpy? Thank you
Video on the channel and all parts listed in video description
How bad is the turndown setup blowing dirt/dust all over the back of the truck. I hate my setup, going to change this spring.
It does kick up more dirt and dust
Thanks for the intro to an affordable good quality exhaust system
Thank you. Seems well made.
Travis. You mentioned that your engine shifts and rubs/hits the frame passenger side. I noticed that that particular oxygen sensor is right against the frame. Does it work ??
It actually isn't touching. Works great
What did you do with the two rear O2 sensors? Did you have to tune to avoid a check engine light?
This doesn't have rear o2s I deleted those a long time ago.
Sounds great man! Love speed engineering products. That's what I'm going with on my Escalade aswell.
Thank you. Great stuff for the money
I've been considering this exhaust for my 06 cateye. Please share a clip with tailpipe.
Not putting the tailpipe in
What color is your truck? Color is beautiful
Stock 2002 green

It definitely has
@@TWAMotorsports it wasn't junk when you bought it. But it's had a ton of customizing i guess is best word. Nice part put on it.
Thank you. It was rough in some areas but I am almost happy with it.
I'll take the extended cab exhaust tube for mine!
May use it on something else
Sounds good 👌🏿
Thank you
Whats the length of this muffler inlet to outlet? I want this cat back but I want to run my borla xr1. Wondering if it will interchange
No idea. I will try to measure at some point
@@TWAMotorsports awesome thank you!!
Link to that lift ?! Truck sounds sick 🔥
Thank you. I made a video on it several years ago with a link
My speed engineering y pipe drags somewhere, everytime I drive it....I hate it. Dumb design for it to hang that much lower then the longtube.
Yeah they are pretty low
