this phone looks fire. Can't wait to see it personally. The flat screen is a win, because the edge screen is very fragile. I've broken the S8 and S7 Edge in the past.
Fargility isn't a problem with edge displays anymore, yes s8 is weaker then s10 or any new samsung phone above it my s8 breaks so easily, and my friend has an s10 and he keeps dropping his phone and it doesn't even break (apart from the back that mf is shattered) but let's talk about note 20ultra that thing is a tank even if its curved and heavy glass are getting stronger and one day "glass is glass and glass breaks" will be a thing of the past

for me personally, the big plus of flat glass is that you can put glass protector on it and it fits perfectly. It is possible for curved glass but either you have to use some "glue" (like Dome glass protector) or it doesn't really stick to the display and hovers over it which causes many issues, I have broken about 6 of the curved glass protectors on my Galaxy S8, and in the end, after 2.5 years, I just gave up and put a bigger case on the phone (UAG Pathfinder) for protection from falling on the ground and I am more careful about what's in the pocket where I put the phone. Because when I had TPU case + glass protector, I could and did put my phone in pocket with keys, coins, anything without fear of the display getting scratched. I hope in the future they could offer mineral glass like I have on my watch.

I have the S20 5G and I absolutely love this phone, 4000mAh for only 6.2" = insane battery life even with 120hz enabled. I'd much rather have this form factor than a much larger 6.5" device bc it's so much more convenient to hold/ carry. Love this phone!

S20FE, Note10Lite which sounds like a weird combo but at least it is not that confusing.

@@sohamdimber8573 well technically yeah the s20fe is the successor to the s10 lite, the model no. for s10Lite is G770 while the FE is the G780 if i am not wrong.

Nice write-up - not many of the reviews make it clear that there's both 5G SD 865 vs LTE Exynos 990 variants of the S20 FE. After being so excited to get this device, I was very disappointed when I discovered that I ended up with the LTE Exynos 990 - there's no clear indication on the box, and I didn't know I had to specifically look for the "5G" (its not in my country anyway). Initial battery life was awful and I noted it getting very hot during initial setup - this prompted me to run some benchmarks that I realized I didn't get the SD865. However, after switching off the 120 Hz display (I don't game on my phone and don't miss the higher rate), it became much better and I didn't notice any more temp spikes. I guess that's a tradeoff you've got to make with the less efficient SoC - after the initial disappointment I'm happy again and glad I opted for the middle of the road price point. Performance is still more than fast enough for day to day to use,and the camera is good - coming from a P20 Pro I didn't find it to be that great, but I do enjoy the wide angle lens. I don't know if I will miss 5G in the long term, as I keep my phones for 3 or 4 years, but time will tell.

This phone is clearly trying to cut into the standard iPhone sales. Seems like a better phone over the iPhone 11 tbh.
Honestly I think it is. But I just got mine yesterday. Only thing I haven't liked so far is it charges slow.
Charles Davis Don’t let that bother you because it’s actually better for the battery to charge slower. Super fast charging is bad for the phones battery.
@@stamatispelekanos650 The included charger 15W is fast enough. Takes about 1.5 hrs 0-100% but Samsung generously gave me a $70 credit for pre-order so I bought a 25W charger and case.
Samsung has always been better than iphone. They always have the newest features way ahead of iphones.
I went from a Samsung 7 to an iPhone 11 last December, big mistake. I plan on trading this in on a Samsung 20FE in December

The FE is a beastly phone. The 865 is blazing fast, oh boy, that 120hz display is 🔥. Camera & 🔋 also very good. Yep, at it's price a definite no-brainer!

I'm finally getting rid of my galaxy s8 plus for the s20 FE I think it's a good deal... I just preorder it for 690$ With Samsung I got the phone at 499 with a trade in , galaxy buds at 50$ a case for free and a galaxy fit2 for 50$ ... I also got spotify and youtube ad free for 6 months

Same... have been contemplating whether to get s20 fe or wait for s21 as my note 9 is still in perfect condition and there's no reason to get a new one yet. But the price for Fe and the mint colour is quite 👀 attractive

Sherif M. Diab maybe you can try to take a look at what samsung offer you when you preorder the s20 FE and sell your s10 to them. For me, in france, I preorder the s20 FE 5g, and sell them my old s8, they offer me 100 euro for the s8 and bonus of 100€. So basically, I just have to pay 559 euro instead of 759 euro ( and I will receive a galaxy fit 2 ~60 euro for free that come with my s20 FE).

I currently have a samsung note 9, with a broken screen but it works for me atm. I've been wanting to upgrade as the contract buy out for me is much cheaper then a screen replacement. I was originally looking at a Note 20 naturally however it seems the 21 will be leauges better and more for Note fans.
Would the comment section recommend this 20 FE for a good year or two replacement phone? Or should get something else. Photos are my main draw to a phone.

I does seem that many people overlook one of the perhaps biggest differences between the FE and the normal s20: the FE only comes with 6gb of ram which does seem to be a bare minimum for that impressive chip but does will surely hinder it a few years down the line. The normal S20 has 12 gb ram as standard and therefore must be much more futureproof despite a chip that is slightly subpar in comparison to the snapdragon.
The first Samsung 120 hz to give a full day? What? Note 20 Ultra frequently gives me more than a day, and if I use Bixby routines to force 120hz in power saving mode, I can push nearly 2.
I'm fairly certain the entire S20 line cam achieve the same as well.

@@W93h3753mwesley Turn on Adaptive refresh rate, then go into Bixby routines and create a custom routine to go into power saving mode.
If you hit the normal toggle it disables your 120hz.
If you hit your customized bixby routines toggle instead, it'll turn on medium power saving mode and keep the 120 hz.
This is a good time to familiarize yourself with Bixby routines as it's a powerful way to automate and control your phone.
You can also look for Saki Tech's video on it if my instructions are unclear.

I was considering S20 as my upgrade to my old S8 but the FE stole my money. Only sacrifice is the Gorgeous screen and the premium feel of the s20 but the fact that it comes with sd855 across all countries is premium enough for me.

Both of them are in the same price category in my country 700$ for the FE with 6 GB ram. And 720$ for the S20 + with 8 GB ram and better screen resolution. The only problem with the S20+ here is that it has the exynos CPU...

@Charmander this is 2023, I had the s20 plus exynos and it's started slowing down and lagging a lot. All that ram wopen . as useless because of bad performance it kept nothing open.
Now I've decided to get the fe for the snapdragon performance they should last longer into the future with better battery too and potentially better camera due to processing improvements

I just bought the international S20+ from Amazon for 649 dollars, but they also currently have the S20 FE for as low as 549. I personally just preferred the look of the S20+ bcuz to me the FE is darn ugly, lol. I'm upgrading from the S8+, which isn't even slow, so I couldn't care less about having the exynos chip, and 5g isn't a thing where I live anyway.

Hi I am choosing between the s20+ exynos and the snapdragon s20 fe. I have been doing a lot of research and I am aware of the battery and processor issues with s20+ which is what puts me off. But I want the better camera too. I guess I can give up the display... what do you think?

The surprising dealbreaker for me on the S20 FE was the silver ring around the hole-punch camera. It was oddly too distracting when compared to the S20, which kind of blends in to the display

It's barely noticeable as the hole punch is very small
My issue is that the Exynos model would be available in my country. Thats why I'd rather wait for One Plus 8T
