Dee RR doesnt make sense...unless the k24z7 had a shitty tune. he has too many mods. I have similar mods on my rsx tuned and if another k20 or k24 with just bolt can keep up something isnt right. Imagine if your car was tuned..you would had took him by 2-4 cars ahead. I would be disappointed if that 2013 si was mines with all those mods.
I'm not a typical ricer who claims this and that. I listed his mods (what he told me) and listed mines. His brother is married to my cousin so I knew the cat anyway. This wasn't a grudge race nor did I race a stranger. I and him both wanted to see where we were at and this was the out come of it. The x-intake when paried with the vibrant header and a exhaust will outflow any stock tuned 8th gen, I guarantee it. I've seen it proven too many times. For anyone saying "a bolt on 8th is slower than a stock tune basemap 8th" is simply wrong... If you throw on a injen cai, skunk2 header, and 3" exhaust and no tune, then yeah your car would probably run like shit.. Our cars came from factory choking itself. They run a tad rich (if not all cars) from factory. The x-intake allows just a tad more air to go through and an aftermarket header on our cars does not change the AFR's either. (or so i've read on the forum anyway) The car pulled great when all I had was those three items, X intake, Vibrant Header + Exhaust. I am now on a skunk 2 header, 3.5" hybrid racing intake and a vit tune. The car is totally different now in terms of power, top is is way more aggressive all the way to 8600rpm. I have an extra rbc laying in my room waiting for port work BUT am probably going to end the build here and get something old school.
You have to give the car what it wants, not what you want. If you don't have a tune, don't throw on big piping and a cold air intake. My brother dyno'd 7-9 whp with the x-intake alone. This was a few years back. It was enough to make me a believer, regardless of how many people put the intake down on the forums. I dyno'd 211whp shortly after this race. You have to remember the K20a/z is more rev happy anyway. Every pull video i've seen of the 9ths seem to fall off in 4th gear in terms of power and constant speed increase. I'm not hating on 9th gen civics but I sure as hell am not a fan of them and their head design.

If the basemap 9th gen was stock, it's still a stock car. A bolt on 8th/9th gen will walk a stock one with hondata any day of the week. You can only get so much air through the doodoo header/downpipe on 8th/9th gens.
@@Dee-EH2 I would assume not. Even though there's so much air you can fit through those stock pipes. The stock ECU isn't tuned to make the most of it. You can change VTEC window and fuel delivery to make sure you are getting close to a 13 AFR at full throttle.
@@Dee-EH2 I had Hondata Flashpro street tuned with no mods on my fg2 and I killed my buddy fbo 9th gen without flashpro by almost a car instantly on a 40 roll.

I wasn't tuned, you can take that for what it's worth. I've raced probably two 9th gens in my car and the other guy had full bolt on's like I did, I took him out easily. My car isn't fast, but I don't see 9th gens being any faster. Person with deepest pocket wins.

I've driven a stock 9th gen and in comparison to a 8th gen or an RSX you don't have that constant climb at higher rpm's (though it really isn't high rpm for a 9th). I'll eat me a 9th gen part for part any day. People claim/call the 9th gen civic the fail child, why do you think they call it that? 6 years of development time and after testing results were recorded the 9th gen had double the body roll, still had shitty brakes like the 8th gen and a new interior design that still looks very similar to the 8th gens.. Take the FD2 for instance, why do you think they made a Type R version? They saw potential in the car, it wasn't the same with a 9th gen. No VTEC on exhaust cam? I'm through..
lol i love all the hate. my friend with a '13 Si having flashpro, full race dp, and full race catback only beats me by ~fender. i'm an '09 Si with just a short ram intake. worth mentioning we're both very decent drivers who are familiar with their cars

Weird, I raced a flashpro basemap 9th gen si. I beat him by many cars but compared to the bolt on no tune 9th gen. He was much quicker
