I’ve been staying off of RUclips, but I really like your channel because it pushes me toward the Lord, and I feel more edified and blessed after watching. Anything that is taking me away from the Lord or not adding to me spiritually, I try to stay away from but your channel is a blessing and glorifies God and He uses you to give practical and biblical wisdom and I appreciate you. Love you sister in the Lord.

Your videos are such a blessing. I need to download all of your helpful tips to be a Christian Homemaker. I feel so overwhelmed. My house is a mess. I have five kids, one who is severely special needs. And most days, I have just given up. But you have inspired me. You truly have the Holy Spirit in you. Thank you for your channel.

You got this! You are an awesome mama who is caring for many ❤️. With 5 kids your house will be messy. Work together as a team to accomplish little things at a time. Give yourself grace, and ask the Lord for strength. If you are serving others (which you are) then you are fulfilling your role as a Christian homemaker!

    Thanks for your videos.
I’m a stay at home father with our sixth month old. I am permanently disabled and am unable to work to provide. Therefore, my wife and I have switched roles in our family as she works full time and I am at home full time. We are both doing our best to embrace being outside our comfort zone in these roles. We are Christians and both lean on our faith to make it through our days. We want to raise our son in a Christ centered home. Neither one of us came from good families and have nothing beneficial to bring it our home from our childhoods. We’ve had to create a healthy environment on our own.
Thanks for reading this far I promise I’m going somewhere. As someone who did not grow up in a Christian home (let alone a healthy one), what would you say is foundational to focus on to build a successful home life (aside from prayer and spending time in the Bible of course)?
Again thanks for reading, this was uncomfortable to post. I want to serve my family in the role God has me in so I’m trying to humble myself to ask questions.

You are very brave for commenting. You can always email me too kelsey@westmanacademyhomeschool.com Thank you for being open and sharing your story. It could end up helping many people!
I will start by saying I don't have all the answers. I also have many areas to improve on with parenting and being a Christian, so what I suggest may not work for you and your family.
I think you and your wife are doing a great job! I don't think there is anything wrong with you switching roles and caring for your son. ❤️ I'm sorry that you are disabled, but I know God is using you and placing you specifically where He wants you. Reading the Bible and praying is HUGE! It can also be very hard if you didn't grow up in a strong Christian household or weren't taught the Bible. Definitely start with Bible studies. This has helped me so much! I truly believe we ALL have things we can learn about the Bible, that we don't know everything. My husband and I went through "The Bible Timeline" with Jeff Cavins, and that was super helpful. (I know you said aside from Bible and prayer, but I also know the more time spent in the Bible and in prayer really transfers out to other areas of your life.) I also recommend do it together with your wife.
Of course, clear communication and expectations are great to talk about with your wife. For our family, I am in charge of cooking, cleaning, laundry, etc. but we "split" parenting when he is home, and do a budget night together every Wednesday. He will also help out when needed, so it's not all on me. He will grill or cook things he enjoys, and I ask for help when I need it. Definitely ask for help when you need it. Ask for breaks when you need them too, and give grace to each other. Overall, try to be a servant. It can be VERY hard at times, but try to serve your family the best you can. Even when you are tired, stressed, annoyed, overwhelmed, turn to God, ask Him for help and strength, and try to serve. Remember that what you do for her and your family, you are doing for Jesus.
Don't forget to also care for yourself and work with your wife. You should be working as a team, and things aren't always "even" or "divided 50/50." There is give and take in many situations. Pray with her, and work on growing your relationship with her no matter how long you've been together.
I'm not sure this was helpful, so if I didn't answer the question correctly, just ask again or in more specific detail, and I would love to go more in-depth. Praying for you. SO glad you shared!

Thanks for your kind and encouraging words. I shared your thoughts with my wife and she appreciates them as well.
I had not thought about sharing the work load at home. I struggle with guilt that my wife has to work full time so I’ve had it in my mind everything in the home is my duty. So I appreciate you pointing out that tasks at home need to be shared.
I have one more question for you. How do you decide how much attention to give your children vs taking time for yourself and/or accomplishing the tasks you need to get completed? I have a fear of not giving my son enough attention and that resulting in him having developmental issues or feeling uncared for. Again, thanks for your thoughts.

They have child-size versions of brooms, etc. If you have essential housework, your son can "help," depending on age appropriate. Like, "help Daddy sweep the floor." He might not get much done, but it's priceless time spent with you and little kids feel good when they've contributed to the family.

I was struggling with saying too many things I shouldn't say. I asked God once to help me keep my tounge still. Then I thought about when I say the most things I regret and it was on FB. I used to be good at not saying stuff that I shouldn't but that was no longer the case. So I tried shutting down my account but I couldn't remember the pass word or even the old email password to reset it since I had had it for well over a decade. Then it occurred to me, if I didn't know the pass word then I could simply log out officially with my tablet and I wouldn't be able to get back in. It's been over 2 years now and I don't miss it at all.

There is a special freedom, though, when you remove yourself from social media. Thanks for sharing! What encouragement.

I’ve been watching you videos for a few days and have gleaned a lot so far. After 30 years of marriage and motherhood I finally decided I do not need a lot of this for our home to function. My goal for the last few months has been to throw away things that were preventing me from serving others. I couldn’t help a friend because I had loads of laundry to do. I couldn’t attend a church activity or meeting because I needed to clean my house. Now that I’ve freed myself and my family from the weight of so many worldly possessions, we are able to serve more. To be ready for church or have people in our home. Thank you for sharing your wise words.

@@faithfulacresfarmhouse Amazon is also giving employees up to $4000 to travel out of state for abortions. And don’t get me started on their stance with transgenderism and the other horrid things they sell. They also make horrible working conditions for their employees and support terrible companies. They allow cheap dupes of products that are made to undercut family owned companies. I would know because I worked for a small Christian company and they used Amazon to sell, and then Amazon turned around and sold cheap China made versions of their product for half of the price. My point is there is no way to avoid “supporting” those things, and there are plenty of Christian men and women who work at target. If we create a world where we try to separate ourselves from what we consider to be wrong, I believe that will make the separation worse. How are they to ever see the light if they have no example of it. Our job is to love everyone because we are not the ones who will be passing judgment on their life.
