After a shattered love affair as a young teenager i retired into this song for an entire summer..over and over again learning the blues was my friend and sorting out adolescent feelings. I didn't understand what the song meant by the price you have to pay i'd be paying the rest rest of my life..but how true it is. The price is that loss of innocence ..that love can hurt . i can't even member the boy's name now but i remember the comfort of this song.

I never saw a keyboard player gyrate and move so much with the music as Mayall does here. Ray Manzarek of The Doors would shake his head a little bit, but John really gets a movin'. Don't think I'm knocking him as I absolutely love Mayall's music and have seen him perform live.

I've seen Phil Lanzon of Uriah Heep move a lot behind his organ as well.

I thought John Mayall primarily is a guitarist, but he plays organ quite good. Man of many talents

Not a guitarist but a wonderful judge of guitar talent having Eric Clapton, Peter Green and Mick Taylor developing under his tutelage.

He's actually far better on keyboards (both organ and boogie-woogie piano) and harmonica than on guitar. His guitar playing is interesting, but a bit rough.

Very much a lack lustre version of the original! Is this affected prima donna still managing to hang on to great musicians, or does he still hate them and sack them?
Loved this song back in the day, but now its all down to what lead guitarist is in tow! Nothing changes then! Except that Mr Mayall actually looks younger here than he did in the late 60s!
Saved by the totally predictable but accomplished lead guitar! The fluctuating mainstay throughout his career!

Don't knock Mayall'sl talent. He's a one of a kind, unique English musician influenced by black-American blues, and an original multi-instrumentalist band leader with a soulful voice. He is also a graphic artist - designed his album covers.

Man you are way off base on all of your idiotic comments. Well except for the Mayall looks younger observation.
