I never knew why horizontal v vertical. Thanks SO much!! Don’t you worry about your beautiful children popping in- you’re a mom first. Love you and your videos.
I'm making a vintage housedress and couldn't decide to go horizontal or vertical. This is very helpful in helping me decide how to do it. I'm going to horizontal buttonholes now. Also I find you really relatable as Mama of 2 ! Thank you 😊.
Thank you for clarifying this. I just made 2 Michaela Bubbles and the button holes were on the opposite and it threw me for a loop until I realized that they were the opposite of what I had been doing !!! Girl holes go on the right!!! Thank you!! (video #5-9/5) !!
Such a useful video, and adorable with the little one 😆 I also heard somewhere that the top button on a shirt (or blouse) is classically sewn horizontally to allow additional ease around the neck area. Not sure how true that is, but I do it because it makes sense to my mind.
it doesn't really matter which side your blouse or shirt buttons on. Just because back in the days, women had maids to help them get dressed, And it made it easier for the maid to button the outfit. Well nowadays we don't have people dressing us, so it doesn't matter which side you button your shirt on. I wear left and right button shirts. As long as the shirt fits and it looks good on you. I say wear it. 😊
LOL love the little sounds.. she is adorable.

I always worry about what direction to make the button holes! Most patterns never say!
Thanks for sharing!

Thank you! I love a practical reason for doing the thing. Your sweet baby makes me smile.

Cutest baby award goes to..,,
I used to wear my brother's hand-me-downs and was teased because my jackets buttoned on the boy's side.
It doesn't matter how they button honestly, as long as they stay buttoned and don't gap 😊 I wear menswear shirts all the time no one cares anymore
