We’ve just stumbled across your videos and love the way you use the camera. Panning around, zooming in on interesting bits, it feels like we’re there. Don’t change what you’re doing. Skipton and that area looks stunning and after seeing your last few vids we can’t wait to move onto our boat at Harefield marina in March and start cruising north. We loved the Leeds and Liverpool Canal, definitely one we will do again especially as we started in Chorley so we haven’t yet done the Wigan flight or Liverpool. You'll have to get some bigger batteries to make use of all that free electricity your solar panels must be soaking up in all this sunny weather.

1. an early video in yr list so guessing you were still playing with editing. some preferences of my own - no horrendous 70s funk guitar or indeed any music. it only covers up all the natural sounds of moving water, the engine and the birds etc. you do the x16 fast fwd thing. not good. also too much fast zooming in and out. try slow zoom. fixing a camera to look down the side of yr boat might also be good.
2. solar panels look good. are they very efficient?
3. 'nice flats' - yr idea of nice architecture is pretty dire. regimented blocks with small windows, small rooms and paper thin interior walls. wdnt live there if you paid me.

1. It is one of our early videos and we were learning the software and playing around with editing. Lots of people enjoy the music and lots don’t, we try to do a bit of both. We now rarely use time lapse or speed up the images.
2. The flexible solar panels are not as efficient as rigid ones but we were willing to make that compromise as we wanted them to sit flat on the roof.
3. Just because I made a statement about the flats didn’t mean that I would live there, it was more the location that I was admiring.

@@ournarrowboatquest4894 whta you actually said was 'nice flats, lovely flats' so you can understand my confusion. most of the people living there will be staring out of their windows into the livingrooms, bedrooms and kitchens of the flats directly opposite. i think you were probably overenthused by the water, the sunshine, the newness of the flats (suggesting expensive) and the need to say something cheery. if it had been me i wd have complained about the blight of modern architecture and the intrinsically depressing nature of england's canals which often travel thro nightmarish urban centres and the like or at the very least are shackled by the petty (and no doubt necessary) laws of the waterways. you can say what you like about the music. i know for a fact it does not represent your thoughts and feelings as you putter along. it is more of a PR projection added later. i like the sounds of engine, water, birds and informing commentary. it's yr channel of course and you'll do what you like with it. it's my decision as to whether i continue to watch.
