Your videos are so well made and I have been coming across your videos recently (I wanted to start an art business myself but still skimming on the surface) I've been posting my drawings in Insta since I was in junior high till high school, I gained a good amount of following and I stopped creating content around college. Now I wanted to start an art business using my art but with how I came out of a 3-4 year hiatus. It's about time I create an art style that I could use to gain many audience towards my art. I've been researching and dong the right things from my POV so far, all I need to do is just develop my own digital aesthetic or theme to my art style. I had been struggling with that for a while, I wanted something that looks interesting at a glance (like filled with story), but it needs to be simple with the technique on how I create it so it would made me easier to determine a more sound and cohesive art style and my audience and me enjoys.

Thanks for sharing your tips. I am really niching down in realism and doing animal paintings and pet portraits. However trying other subjects, like hands, feet, eyes and hopefully finally human faces is also a goal I hope to start working on in the coming season. I am not a digital artist but art is art and your tips apply to any type of artist using whatever medium.

Hi Mimi! I really appreciate your insightful tips on developing an art style as a digital artist. Your enthusiasm shines through, and it's evident that you genuinely want to help others on their creative journeys. One key takeaway I found especially valuable is the idea of starting small and embracing the learning process. It's so true that we all begin somewhere, and your encouragement to focus on the journey rather than immediate perfection is inspiring. Btw, I'm curious to hear about your personal experiences in honing your unique style. Keep up the fantastic work, Mimi! 😊

I started Instagram late last year after I watched your video about promising to do 5 pieces a week for a year. So far, this has been an experiment for me--I've tried so many types of art I hadn't even considered trying before, and it has helped me to either cross those off the list or incorporate more. I'm liking that approach for this year, and it's helping me discover what themes and colors I gravitate to. Some even work well for my personal art as well as graphic design, like vintage botanical art and hand lettering. I still want to do lots more experimentation--always, but also just as a project for the rest of the year. Next year I'm thinking about doing a review, officially bring in the focus for public-facing art (instead of posting everything I do). It'll be fun down the road to compare my years.

I found this video really useful. I design cards and prints, but those with illustrations do that bit better. But feel my style is a bit all over the place. Your tips have given me a good idea to make them look more consistent. I have been loving working in Adobe Fresco and playing about with brushes.

I'm definitely going to use that Skillshare trial and take the class you recommended. After spending quite a lot of time studying art through references, my art style has gotten a lot more realistic than I want it to be, so I'm trying to figure out ways to move away from that while still being able to use everything I've learned in the past couple of years. These tips are great!

Mimi, I am trying to choose the palette for my art and I have always been attracted to warm colours, earthy tones and pastels. I have my own drawing style but would that not look too much like other artists' style by choosing that particular palette? I also like golds and silvers but in digital art I would yet have to learn how to achieve such effect if possible.

This video is SO SO GOOD! I was instinctively doing a bit of some things you said, but putting them organised like you did is so helpful. Thank you. I am in a phase of exploration, there are so many styles I love that I feel a bit weird about "committing" to just one style, so I am trying a lot of things. However, I see some tendencies in me regarding colours and subjects. Let's see, I honestly can't wait to see what my style will develop into. =D

I feel so stupid asking this question. But I love the consistency your IG feed, bc everything is either round or square with rounded edges. It’s so cohesive and aesthetically pleasing. So, here’s for the dumb part. I use strictly procreate, how did you achieve this? Anyone else know??

Hi Mimi, thank you for your great work because you were one of the reasons why I started sharing and improving my art 🙌✨
    These are really useful tips🔥
But maybe you have something to say about Instagram scammers?
Let me explain, when I just started sharing my work through instagram - some people started messaging me about buying my work, or about commissioned work, but they were all scammers who just waste my time and it makes me feel useless with my work
Perhaps you can tell us a little more about the customers or maybe you have also met such people on your work path?
    Thanks again, Mimi✨♥️

In your opinion, is it important to keep your art cohesive if you are trying to build your Instagram? I always hear about the importance of having your profile be aesthetic but I also want to be able to experiment with different mediums

It might help convert fans of your art into followers if they can see more of what they like on your profile, but it's not necessarily the most important thing

My artsyle change sooo much since I was started last year. Same with my color pallet I use to like pastel colors Gradually shift to lighter, thus it make my art more pleasing.
I'm glad my CUTE Countryballs niche is getting more views and some decent likes and subscribers, uploading once per week is enough.
Maintaining quality is a must than quantity, I have to prevent this practice, because this is a unhealthy for my channel.
