Excellent video. I’ve used several of the methods you described, with the exception of the chipping fluid and salt method. Your explanation of the salt method really cleared it up for me and I’m going to try it soon.
Thanks for this Oggie. Very informative and good to see the results applied to your builds, and will certainly help with my recent four purchases. On the 9th and 10th November here in the UK, in the Midlands, Telford, was a model show at the International Centre. Absolutely stacks of room for all the model enthusiasts. This was my first visit to any show like this since before the draconian 'advice' on covid messed everything up. I was very pleased to be able to buy two kits from the latest Dune films. The Dune kits are from MENG; 1/72 scale Atreides Ornithopter (which is rather large) and a 1/300 scale Harkonnen Ornithopter. I meant to go back a little later to get the Spice Harvester but I got distracted. It does not seem to have a scale listed, this I bought from the same seller at the show but was an online purchase. Also there is the Revell Darth Maul Sith Infiltrator at 1/20 scale, the Star Wars 25th Anniversary kit. Lastly was a Hasegawa 1/24th Toyota Celica 1600 GT in race configuration. I always wanted a real one of these when they were around in the '70's. Your videos keep me enthused to build more kits.
Wow that sound cool. I had a few friends attend that show this year. It looked awesome from the photos. Thanks for sharing about your great finds. Those are definitely cool models and I absolutely loved the films. Thanks also for watching. I appreciate your compliments too.
I realize this post isn’t about the MPC 1/48 Space 1999 Eagle, however I do have a question for you. Did you get the four sheet MPC Eagle decal set for the 1/48 Eagle models, if so did you notice that almost all of the decals on the sheets are not the colors that are illustrated on the set’s cover, nor the reduced illustration of all the sheets, also on the packaging covers. I wrote to the company that makes/imports asking about the definite blue cast to all of the decals, to wish they replied that the decals are supposed to be that way. So much for them, I guess they can’t see the difference between the illustration colors, and the decals. I even sent them a photo of one of the white squares from the first sheet applied to a piece of clear plastic, showing it’s actually transparent blue and not white. Just curious if you had the same issue or not. Thanks! Steve Todd, Albuquerque, NM
@@stevetodd478 hi….no i’m afaid I did not use that decal sheet. One option you could consider is to scan them and recolor them with photoshop. Thanks for watching. Wish I had more advice on that one for you.

@@InterstellarModeler Thanks for the quick reply!
What do you do with the hair spray that you applied to the model? Can some residue be left on, or does it need to be thoroughly rinsed off / removed?
@@colonelklink53 i’ve not experienced any residue on the model. Once the salt is dissolved and the model has been dried off I just move on from there.
Just a comment for the old algorithm.
thanks
