I think the viewer nailed it when he said:"..a girl that is way out of my league in my country" .. these girls are out of our league here as well, so we can draw our conclusions and understand what is the one and only thing they are looking for ..some in a reasonable way, some are very, very dangerous. I also confirm that normal girls (decent job, good education, etc..) can definitely try to scam you not only in Pattaya or Phuket.
There's another category of girls, I've not heard in any of the stories so far, and they are the nightclub girls. Their "barfines" are exorbitant. They can range from 3,000 B to 10,000 B, depending on their category. I remembered this crazy guy who barfined a few (4-5) of these girls from a club, and bring them to a bar where we playing pool, just to distract us. We were distracted, but we still won. LOL
Story two. Anyone who visits The Windmill. Prepare to be shocked. I took my friends in there. They could not believe what was going on. If you are easily offended. Give it a miss.
It's almost unbelievable that if he was an American who worked in tech, traveled extensively in Asia, and was oblivious about red light districts in Thailand, Vietnam, and Philippines. Pretty much everyone in tech brags about their overseas conquests and drunken stories at work the next day, or when they get back stateside. Those who travel often, or have extended stays typically have "GFs" at each city (and maybe even multiple in a country if they make enough money)..
You invite a man to your bed, then he pees in it, then you offer to be a gentleman to this guy by sleeping in his pee. Rather disgusting, the whole thing.

Hopefully with my own experience that you read out, I am going Thailand next Saturday. I do have a plan and wanted to know your advice and opinions because you are a British veteran and I am from uk. Jake first time travelling outside of the US at 37 ? My son is 21 and has travelled to 35 countries. I've been to 58 myself , my first trip being to India again at the age of 16.

Peter - your final comment at 28:30 was excellent - everyone has their learning curve - nothing wrong with that. In my early days coming to BKK in the late 80's I think I might have even had an encounter with a ladyboy but didn't realize. Live and learn.
