    How many did you get right?!

      I think it could be better to put the scooter baseplate upside down, then you could put the handle upside down also and you could get the grip little higher.

      Interesting idea Juhani. I'll have to see how I can make this work, because the scooters can only be attached on one side of the dual handle grip. I'll give it a try. Thanks for the idea... 🙏🏻

    5 for 5, the scoter assist you can see you cover more ground quicker, that said, might be beneficial if used in that means vs a normal dive

    • @MatthiasLebo

      Well done! And that's a good trick. It was the slowest I could go with the scooters. They don't allow to go any slower than that... 🙈

      @@MatthiasLebo Packing my camera, lenses & needed underwater dive camera gear is already heavy enough for travel - I would have a hard time trying to figure out what to leave behind to bring 1 let alone 2 scooters

      Thank you buddy. With pleasure. We still have one workshop this year (in Egypt from 19.-26. November 2022) and then next year in June we'll be going to Croatia and in November to the Philippines. Which one would be most interesting to you?

    In my opinion as if to travel with heavy and bulky equipments are always stressing me out but once everything is deployed underwater when it gave almost neutral buoyancy, that is the best feeling ever.
    With them on specially fighting current for chasing some good shot, I think would worth for that.
    So far i am using 60fps and slow them down with some post stabilization are still acceptable I think.

    • @MatthiasLebo
      @MatthiasLebo  2 года назад +1

      I know, right, it's always a relief once you've put everything into the water and the weight is magically gone. Best feeling ever... 😃
      Yeah, I work a lot with 60p and then slowing it down in post and I find that this works quite well most of the time.

    thank you very much ! can you go backwards? how to follow in front of a fish. and how deep you can go with this system? would be interesting to put there an ¨kenyon gyro stabilizer :)

    • @MatthiasLebo
      @MatthiasLebo  Год назад +1

      No, you can't go backwards unless you mount the scooters pointing backwards. The scooters are rated to a depth of 40 meters. Sure, that would be a nice thing to try.

    Wäre interessant zu wissen was die Seepolizei zu diesem Setup sagt 🙃 ist ja offiziell verboten, speziell in Zürich 😂
    gegen die Erschöpfung würde ich ein Tow-Cord empfehlen wie beim normalen scootern, so dass kein zug auf den armen hast.

    Boys and there toys 🤣 very nice set up but seems a lot of effort and expense for what you want to Achieve. But think it would look nice with my GoPro 8 and sealife 3.0 . I got 3 out of 5 . 👍

    • @MatthiasLebo
      @MatthiasLebo  2 года назад

      You’re absolutely right. It is a lot of effort and I’m definitely not going to do this for every single dive.
      A GoPro or SeaLife can easily be mounted on one single scooter which is going to be plenty powerful for that setup. 👍🏻

  • @luisj8970

    With the scooter they are almost like drone shots. Also, I only see the video in 360p…

    • @MatthiasLebo
      @MatthiasLebo  2 года назад

      That's an interesting comparison, but you're right. They kinda do.
      Yeah, sorry for the 360p, the HD and 4K Versions are still being process by RUclips. It seems to take much longer than usual for some - to me unknown - reason.

  • @AquaticRod
    @AquaticRod 2 года назад

    It sounds like you would be happier with just one scooter?

    • @MatthiasLebo
      @MatthiasLebo  2 года назад

      Well, one is lighter and easier to transport than two, that's for sure, especially when traveling by plane. It's all a bit much for not too much added stability in my opinion. I would also like to have a slower speed level than the slowest existing one. Its a tad too fast for my liking.

    Hi,do you keep your Komodo power ON before you get in the water?because of SDI! How do you deal with it isn't cause foggy issues if the camera ON before jumping in the water

    • @MatthiasLebo
      @MatthiasLebo  2 года назад +1

      No, I power it on once I get in the water. There is no advantage to my knowledge in powering it on before entering the water. The SD problem with the Komodo only has to do with the order in which you connect the cables, making sure that you always have power connected (but not necessarily on) to the camera and monitor before connecting the SDI from the camera to the monitor.
      And there is no fogging issues inside the GATES housings as it is made from steal which means the heat can dissipate from the housing quite easily.
