That’s because the 43’s are naturally aspirated, and the 53’s are an electric boosted inline 6. I agree the 43 sound so much better. But in all honesty, if you’re going to buy a “AMG” then get a real one like the 45 or the 63’s.
@@Snapkinson The 43 isn't naturally aspirated either, it's turbocharged. 53 is turbo + electric, but the electric addition isn't what's making it quieter. Inline 6 engines are just inherently better balanced than V6 or V8 and thus, by default, don't really make as much of the good ol' burbly noise. But more importantly than that, I'm pretty sure MB just didn't give it as loud an exhaust as the 63 so as not to cannibalize the 63's sales. As for the 45 being a real one - fair enough, apparently they do also go by the "one engine, one man" principle. But it's a damn inline 4, that instantly somewhat discredits it as an AMG for me at least. 6 cylinders on AMGs already feels weird.
