APD Officers Quickly Apprehend Robbery Suspects

  • On March 10th, 2024, at approximately 5:03AM, officers responded to the Courtyard By Marriott located at 133 Carnegie Way NW in reference to a pedestrian robbery. Upon arrival, officers spoke to the victim, who stated that he had walked to a nearby ATM at the Ameris Bank at 260 Peachtree Street NW. While he was withdrawing money, he was approached by two unidentified males who appeared to be homeless. The victim advised that the two males stated to the victim that they were in need of money to get a hot meal. The victim stated that he gave each of the men $20 dollars and began to walk away when one of the two men sucker-punched the victim and stole his wallet. The victim advised that he was knocked down but was able to regain his senses and ran to the Courtyard By Marriott hotel to contact the police. The victim provided the responding officer with a description of the suspects, which the officer then relayed to fellow officers who canvassed the area for the suspects. Officers were able to locate the suspects who were found to be sitting on the outside steps of a nearby church located at 360 Peachtree Street NE. Officers placed the suspects into custody without issue. The suspects were identified as 50-year-old Conara Hill and 48-year-old Terrance Myrieckes. Mr. Hill was charged with robbery, and Mr. Myrieckes was charged with robbery and simple battery. Both suspects were transported to the Fulton County Jail for processing. The victim sustained minor cuts and abrasions as a result of the assault. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
