Nick Blodans is the director of Sky High Window Services- a pioneering, rope access window cleaning company in Toronto. We met up with him in Etobicoke to find out what life is like hanging off the side of a high-rise building.

As long as you are well rehearsed with the harness, fear doesnt cause you to fall. This job is mad money

Correct me if I’m wrong but those type ropes are illegal in Ontario to use are they not? I am also a high rise window cleaner and have never seen those used in Ontario and was told by ministry that there illegal. Typically we use 2 ropes doubled up for decent and a thicker separate rope for our safeties.

Brendan Hegarty I thought the same thing. I also worked as a high rise window cleaner in Toronto and for what i know, we’re supposed to use double genie on a cylinder in order to perform a drop.

Interesting video! I mean this with no disrespect. I notice you are shooting what looks like to be a canon c200 but man those micro jitters are painful. Camera shake is one thing, that adds intense feeling etc but micro jitters really ruin shots. I thought u were shooting on a cell phone until I saw the photo that showed the camera op. I assume you are using a lens with no IS. Also you missed a great opportunity to bring the audience in. If you put a go pro on the window cleaner to capture his POV. Anyway, again I am not trying to bash you. I subscribed in support. I just got a c100 mk2 cause I can't afford no c200 LOL I live downtown hit me up if you need assistance. Would be cool to see how you film these etc Peace!
P.S I like these videos series of our city. I hope you keep making more.

Totally. I actually fixed the micro jitters on my most recent video (Powerboating to Toronto Islands) just by applying stabilization in post- I'm pretty new to this. We definitely talked about putting a GoPro on him! Thanks man, I'ma keep making these videos and hopefully get better over time :)
