"This is the best part of the trip."
My favorite part of the trip.
....what'd he say?
I ... Get the feeling... You really get the Doors? -- such a trippy and fun transition in the song... A little wink and a smile from a surely tripping Jim, it feels like to me...
You're right, the Doors are predictably unpredictable. That's what makes them so fascinating. Like being at a carnival, going from one side show to another, never knowing what's around the next corner. Strange days.
"...never knowing what's through the next Door".
@@ridemfast7625 Those doors of perception. Since I wrote that comment under that kent username, I had a dream where I was visiting my local college campus, and a big chunk of it had converted to some bizarre type of carnival, with outrageous side shows. I tried to find my way back to the main campus, but seemed to be trapped in the carnival, immersed in the freak shows. I didn't remember making this comment, so I guess I must have some inner fascination with a similar Doors-type of eccentricity.
Holy shit...FINALLY someone hit some more obscure Doors! Well done Sir! This is one of their most underrated songs IMO. Thank you for giving it some love! You should check out "The Wasp (Texas Radio)" and "When the Music's Over" next. Really though, you can't go wrong with any Doors song.
I know... So many hit the same songs, and they are great but so many left on the table also great... They have sooo many truly amazing songs. Even their 'mediocre' songs are good.
Yeah, it isn’t the 500th reaction to Light My Fire.
This song is epic. All I ever heard about the Soft Parade album was that it wasn't good. But... It's incredible. It just breaks from the blues... But by doing so, they show how great they are. Because they excelled even outside their blues ness. They are incredible.
In fact: "The Soft Parade" is an overwhelming song. It's not an easy one, for sure. You have to get used to it but then you'll love it, forever. It's like a psychedelic novel, a real good trip.
@@senzanome7801now this is the truth. almost like a frank zappa track
The combination of Jim's poetry and delivery and Robby, Ray, and John's superb musical skills gave the Doors the capability of inducing a trance or starting a riot. Sometimes both........
"Not to touch the earth" is another doors song some are not very familiar with but it is fantastically epic!
Oh yeah, such a truly thunderously epic song that - because their Library is FILLED with so many doesn't quite get the attention it deserves... But I hear you 'Not to touch the Earth' is an incredible song.
Hell yeah. That one is wonderful.
I fell in love with the Doors the first time i heard them. They were the most unusual and sounding like the era. They were an LSD experience without the drug.
One of my favorite songs from one of my favorite bands of all time. I have every album they ever released. That's something I cannot say about my other favorite bands.
In my opinion their best song, so original and artsy, thanks for reaction Pope! 💙
P. S.
I think "When The Music's Over" should be next, another super epic 💥
Agree, super song!
I agree and I’m also partial because of the memories this song brings back. Whoa..
If you ever listen to this on acid or some good shrooms, you'll really have a "trip" ;)
Yeah, and then you mention 'When the Music's Over' which has its own case for being the greatest song ever. So many with these guys! My favorite Doors song? The one playing! Oh wait... No, the next one. Wait! Wait! I mean the last one...no!no! The one before that I mean... 😎
Well ... So many... But yeah these two... Hard to beat.
"Break On Through" is another great one by The Doors, it was their first single ever, it was fucking crazy for 1967. They have a lot of crazy songs
The lyrics were from Robby Krieger, such a brilliant song.
dude might be the best DOORS song
Jefferson Airplane exemplifies the wide-eyed wonder of San Fransisco Psych-Rock, the Velvet Underground is the artsy, intellectual New York version of the sound, and the Doors represent the dark, dangerous underbelly of Psychedelia in Los Angeles.
When the music's over is a great epic from the doors.
My absolute favorite Doors album. I just don’t understand why the people and the critics rate this so low.
I was 10 years old, my first album that introduced me to The Doors was THE SOFT PARADE album. My brother made me listen to it from 1st song to the final.......It tossed my brain from one crazy motion to another. I was NOT ready for this. That album opened me up to all genres of music, jazz, acid, rock, symphony. My mind was splattered against the wall......🎵🍺
Me too. I love music for the surprises
I cannot believe you reacted to this! You gotta donation from me for and I ain't even heard it yet. Morrison's wild lyrics and vocals, Ray Manzarek 's phenomenal keyboards including a harpsichord, plus great drums, bass and guitar. Definitely the trippiest song they ever did. An absolute masterpiece.
Many a rock band from that era might take you to the edge of your seat, The Doors will take you to the edge of your mind.
To really understand Jim Morrison's lyrics, you have to dig deep into his brain. But no one can - not even the band members were sure to understand everything he said or sang. Much remained hidden in his brain. But that's what makes him and The Doors special, they made music to poems and poems to music. Jim saw himself as a poet not as a musician that was his kind of art and it really was art! Great group, great songwriters and of course one of the inspired musicians ever. Thanks for sharing and best wishes @all from hamburg (germany)
They go from disco (before there was disco) to one of the greatest grooves ever!
When the music is over live at the Hollywood bowl
the live version is a masterclass
An underplayed favourite. A bit of everything - whacky indeed.
The look on your face when he said love your neighbor til his wife gets home… lol 😂😂
Wonderful, amazing, speachless... this song is it
"and its getting harder, to describe, sailors to the underfed"
Don't think I've seen a reaction to this one before. Right on! Lately I've been partial to The Doors tracks "Not to Touch the Earth" and "Texas Radio and the Big Beat".
saw a guy who interrupted a song 3 times a minute to make a comment - the song was the end. I got crazy!!!
Props for you doing this bro. This is one of their least popular albums and IMO is the most underrated album.
I heard this at a very young age 50 yrs ago... 🔥⚔️🌞🍊🕊️
A dog bite me while I was walking listening to this song years ago.
Not To Touch The Earth is great!
Next Doors songs to do 😁🤟🎸
When The Musics Over
LA Woman
Light My Fire
Not To Touch The Earth
The Unknown Soldier
Five To One
The Crystal Ship
Roadhouse Blues
Peace Frog
People are strange
👍
callin all the dogs!, callin all the dogs!, callin all the Gods!
Love your honesty Pope and as much as I like this song, I have to agree that "The End" does have the edge over this one. "When The Music's Over" is being suggested in the other comments and I agree.
'THE END' has no rival.
riders?
The Doors will always hold a very special place in my heart. ALWAYS. Their legacy and their music helped shape me in my youth to become the person I am today. With that being said and since you've mentioned your attraction to psychedelic rock, you NEED to check out Jimi Hendrix. He is also one of the most psychedelic rockers of the 60's. Great channel and great reaction, by the way.
When all else fails
We can whip the horse's eyes
And make them sleep and cry
Tripping with the Doors
Alright now it's time for when the music's over and the lizard king (live at Hollywood bowl)
lol Yep. Unexpected. I was 11 years old, and the only preparation I'd had for this was having listened to their first album over and over for a couple of years before hearing this for the first time. This drew me into a world that was mysterious and exciting to a small town kid with limited access to pop culture outside of sports.
I just love the wackiness of this song. Thanks for reacting to so much of their music!
Great reaction!
Check out Peace Frog. Also When the Music's Over, Moonlight Drive, Backdoor Man...there are so many. This will be a fun ride.
So many! Ever song man
Shaman's Blues, from this same album, is an excellent song and another chance to explore Morrison's world view.
Another group to listen would be Steppen Wolf, Magic Carpet Ride, The Pusher Man, and Born to be Wild which became our anthem during the late 60s
Not suggesting it, imagine listening to this song on headphones, on your brothers Hi-Fi that he left at Mom's house when he left and got married on a hit a blotter acid. Absolutely mind blowing. Thumbs up, thank you for the video.
This is the trip, the best part...
One of the Best Albums
This was one I had to live with for a while before my own understanding of it became clear. From the very beginning I knew it was great and that he was making some important observations, inviting me into a new way of thinking about life. So I didn't mind spending some time with it to crack it open.
Rumor has it that this song was done in one take after Jim ate a SHEET of blotter acid!
I love the Waiting For The Sun/ The Soft Parade era of this incredible band.
My opinion only.
Fabulous band of no question!
LISTEN TO THEIR "LIVE AT THE ISLE OF WIGHT": STUNNING..I AM 65 AND HAVE LISTENED TO THEM SINCE 1967...WHAT A BAND!!
I've never heard this. I see why they recommended it to you. Cool stuff. The song I think you'd enjoy by them is 'Peace Frog'.
Peace Frog is a great Doors track
If you haven't reacted to When the music's over, check it out. I think it's their best epic track.
Subscribed - you listened till THE END (just a suggestion) without interrupting or commenting, just listened to get into the music.
That´s the way I like it.
Mystical..........powerful...beautiful........and odd but thought provoking
this song i have for the opening to be part of my funeral...you cannot petition the lord with prayer.........ya fools
Jim Morrison got arrested for indecent exposure on stage. I think it was either Florida or New York. 😂😂🔥🎸☮️❤️👵🏼
another excellent Doors song is Peace Frog, And Soul Kitchen.
L.A. woman
If you liked the last part of the song I would like to suggest "Sweet Smoke - Baby night" from their 1970 album "Just a poke".
A great and beautiful 16 minutes "jam session" song with exactly this part of this song built in. If you look it up here on YT and see the album cover I guess you will know where the travel will go to. 😉
I am sure you will like it.
I've never heard of this. Thank you I can't wait to check this oye out 😊
@@missmama3900 You are welcome. 🙂
Yes, although they were from the US they are not very well known in the States. They somehow came to Germany and made their career here. I guess that's why I know them at all...and I liked the album cover 🤣
Anyway, it would be glad if you could let me know if you dig the song and the band. ✌️
The Soft Parade has Wishful Sinful. Man, I love that one.
Everything must be this way... ponder on that for a while.
The PBS session is the best version 🦎🎹🥁🎸🔥
Love this . But the live one is better from the PBS broadcast is next level! And you can see beautiful Jim and the Doors🦎
Un disco de The doors es muy diferente al anterior ninguno eß igual musicalmente. Es rico, unico, un Tesoro del Arte. Ni hablar de los recitales
'Wishful Sinful' is the song sequenced right before this on the album. Also 'The Spy' & 'Queen of the Highway' from Morrison Hotel. These are great and not too played out....yet! 'Land Ho!" also
The Celebration of the Lizard! Live New York. I'll be waiting for your reaction brother. Cheers
Wasp- Texas Radio, please
Damn you took that all to the dome without stopping. Impressive. Have you done Celebration of the Lizard yet? I reccomend the live in New York version. It is like the best parts of the end and the soft parade. I never thought it it like that before but hearing you mention both songs in your final remarks made me put those two songs under the same light as Celebration ofthe Lizard."When the music's over" would fall into that poetic theater category of music. As well as the entire album "An American Prayer". Subscribed.
Amazing song, the end is pure punk, grunge
i like it.....
a lot or a little
Like you I'm an old Doors fan. My next birthday I'll be 66. This young gentleman *gets* the Doors. I do wish that these sorts of videos would show/play the "more obscure" Doors albums. Like Strange Days and the one he did at least one great song from "The Soft Parade". There is much to be mined.
The End is primarily psychedelic rock, while The Soft Parade is primarily hard rock. Both great in their respective genres.
@Let Your L⚡️GHT Forever Shine ❤️ the Doors are a rock band performing many subgenres such as blues rock, straight blues, psychedelic rock, acid rock, hard rock, folk and folk rock, pop, proto- punk, ballads, rock and roll, and protest rock. I lived my formative years in the 60’s and came of age in 1970. These were the terms bantered around all the time by the musicians, studio techs and recording engineers, dj’s, and just general roadies, fans, and high end audio professionals. The Doors broadly qualify and are well and accurately described by all these terms, though mot necessarily at the same time in all their efforts. Great stuff bo matter what though!
PROUD TO A PART OF THIS NUMBER
To broaden your understanding of the Doors tey listening to:
When the Music's Over
L.A. Woman
Riders in the Storm
Five to One
Roadhouse Blues
Peace Frog
Waiting for the Sun
This was fun to watch, their best song too!
Great video dude, keep going with the doors, plenty of songs man!
Wish u the best!
Ooh child in high school in the 90s I used to umm listen to this locked in my room when I was umm... coming down. Sounds like a Nintendo game mixed with the P-Funk.
This is the trip , the best part, I really like. Gotta love it, I can't count how many times I dropped 4 way acid to this. 🤣👍.
Very cool Pope! Jim flashbacking to his early cartoon days.
Jim NEVER made any apologies or really explanations for anything he wrote! Genius very often is not within the understanding of the masses and Jim's writing is no exception.
Five to one great song

Do a live version of When The Musics Over if you can -- This one gives a look into how Jim controls the band the audience and the vibe -- also a touch of his humor too ruclips.net/video/CKw9JA66H-A/видео.html
Can you petition the Lord with Prayer?! Awesome, and great reaction!
this song so fire lmfao
The Doors have dozens of great songs (including "The Soft Parade"). I would highly recommend "Riders on the Storm," if you have not heard it already.
Also, if you want one of the best psychedelics songs of that time in my opinion and many others, you gotta do "A Whiter Shade Of Pale" (the official video, no the live from 2006).
It just perfect, beautiful song, beautiful time for music.. 1967, best year in psychedelic rock
Oui, A whiter shade of pale est une reprise intégrale d une pièce de Jean Sébastien Bach , Le choral du veilleur BW 565
Love it!!!!!!!!
👍👍👍🇮🇹👋Italia
Subscribed on the basis of your ending thoughts alone. I really enjoyed them. Great work.
this song is a banger btw, especially the end part
Please react to Love - You Set the Scene
Sunshine 60's psychedelic at it's finest
Amazing song about life, and how it’s rooted in interesting insanity
Shamans Blues
The ultimate Doors
Crowds and power - Elias Cannetti ..( jims powers)
The Lizard King. 👍❤🤙
I first got into The Doors in the early 70's because my 50 year old dad somehow bought this LP, I believe without knowing who they were. Luckily for me I loved the entire LP and it remains one my nostalgic favorites by them. Though this is probably one of my least favorite songs on it! LOL!
For a song that's more like The End try When the Music's Over... they used to open their concerts with it LOL
LAND HO IS A GOOD SONG
I could recommend A LOT of Doors songs you could try, but judging by your reactions, by what you like about them and why, I would HIGHLY recommend When the Music's Over for you. You're ready for it.
great reaction! please do WHEN THE MUSICS OVER next!!
