I had to take a break and write a comment because I truly feel your channel is heaven sent. I knew psychology was my calling since I was young. I found out about neuropsychologist after doing research on the mind/body connection. I knew that was my calling but my goal stopped short when I became pregnant at 19. I knew neuropsy would take forever and I had to be realistic, so I changed my major to nursing.
Fast forward, I am now in a BSN program in the Midwest (originally from Philly, what a coincidence 😌) AND enrolled in an online Bach of psychology program. I am truly blessed to be able to work towards two degrees with no tuition!
I plan on being a psych nurse and use the degree as my cushion throughout grad school to become a neuropsychologist. Your channel just gave me confirmation and motivation to keep going and work towards my mission! I love that you are a black woman and reside near my neck of the woods 😄 I look forward to your videos and thank you so much🙏🏾 God bless!

Dr. Ivorie thank you for this video . I’ve been debating about going to a Psy.D right after my undergraduate instead of getting a master degree. You helped me with my choice to go straight to Psy.D program , thank you!!!

Could you talk about the debt to income ratio for neuropsychologists with a PsyD? Is quality of life OK?

    Hi ivorie,
Do you constantly use psychology techniques with patients or is it as simple as just listening and trying to understand them?
    Thanks,
    Hussain.

Hi Hussain, thanks for your question! Technically listening and trying to understand patients is a very important technique in therapy and can guide treatment goals and inform what other techniques might be helpful.
