We have an old Volvo V70 Classic in family. We are looking to fix rust damages on the back of it before polishing. Is that something you could look into?
I like that you made the point that to truly fix it it would need to go to the body shop. Some people think a polisher will remove all scratches and just hammer away trying to get it out and make the panel worse. Another thing people don’t always understand is when you do “remove” a scratch the scratch isn’t gone you are just leveling the clearcoat around the scratch to the same depth. That’s why this video is great IMO. It shows that some scratches are just to deep but there is a way to make it look better.
Completely agree...only a small percentage of light, surface scratches can be completely removed without sacrificing the clear to a point where it just is not effective anymore.
Another awesome video Brian! I send my employees videos of yours to study and learn from you. You have definitely helped my business grow in so many ways! You’re doing a great thing man keep it up! Thank you!
Perfect timing, I have my wife’s Nissan Leaf while she is on a vacation for a week and have ordered a paint touch up kit to do precisely that repair. Much different than a rock chip repair. Amazed at how little clear you lost.
Very nice job. Something that I do on touch up with OEM touch up paint, is mix a drop of top coat clear with a drop of base coat and apply. Works well. Thank you for the video.
Wow great job! So wet sand first to smooth out the edges? Clean it and then add paint. Is the paint from a paint pen work? And the clear from a paint pen?
Very nice Brian Great result. Only thing I would have done is sand inside the scratch with the purpose of leveling the jagged edges of the scratches before filling it. Can’t argue with the result!
I'd be happy with that job. What is in your soap water? I have a deep and gruesome fence scratch on a work truck and just minimizing it's appearance would be fine with me.
Brian after you cleaned out the scratches did you apply touch up paint first and then optimum CCR or did you just go straight in with CCR to fill in the gauge?
Thanks Brian for this interesting video you made. Can I ask for your professional advice. I have a 2012 Mazda 3 a daily driven car. With swirl, scratches & rock chip that I fill up with touch up paint and you can see the marks with harsh Canadian weather. I’m planning to do 1 or 2 step paint correction this summer. I’m planning to use Angelwax Regenerate & Angelwax Perfect Polish. Using the Buff & Shine (maroon, yellow, white & 50/50 micro fiber pads). Because I saw it in your previous video using these Items with a great result. What can you suggest & product to be use. I don’t have a knowledge about detailing but willing to learn and saved your videos as references. I bought a test panel & equipment to practice it before doing it on in my car. Then apply Jescar Power Lock Plus. Thanks again
Ok...you have a medium cut and finish polish. I suggest adding a decent cut compound. 3D ACA Extra Cut or Sonax Cut Max are my fav. And two more pads...the Lake Country Microfiber Cut pad. And Low lint pre washed lambs wool pad. You are ready to rock with them.
Second car I use the rotary on. I burned through my Gf car Paint in a little spot haha oops 😅 I find it strange i did maybe 3-4 quick passes max 1500 rpm worked clean etc. Maybe paint was thin. First car I didn't burn through anything. I'm not scared next car shall me my mom's 😅 I'm ready 🙏
Great vid as always, I’ve never thinking using sanding paper on a car but after seeing this ..so you used a 3000 sanding paper ?? Where do you buy these very low grid sanding paper ?
Much more to come on scratch removal and wet sanding. Other areas you want to learn? Let me know!

Great video very informative. Would love to see your take on rock chip repair/ touch up. Thanks
Yes BA66699 I agree
Absolutely...I will cover that as well.
Perfect timing, I have my wife’s Nissan Leaf while she is on a vacation for a week and have ordered a paint touch up kit to do precisely that repair. Much different than a rock chip repair. Amazed at how little clear you lost.
That is key...making improvement without shaving too much clear.
Excellent job the customer should be very pleased with that repair at a fraction of the cost amazing 👍👍
I’ve been very hesitant to try any wet sanding but this video is a great guide. Thanks Brian.
It is very effective and fun. Grab a junk panel from a local body shop...great to practice on.

After you fill in the scratch with clear coat, are you wet sanding with 3000 grit again or 5000 grit?
Great informative video, really useful tips. Keep up the good work Brian.
Excellent video !! Did you use any touch up paint here or just clearcoat restorer? thx
Really great informative video ✊Many things can be fixed with the right products.👍🏻
And a bit of patience.🙂
You are amazing! Thank you for sharing your knowledge!!
Much more to come...stay tuned!

Excellent video!
w/o paint thickness gauge how do u know if it's been corrected already in the past?🍻🍻🍻🍻
I'd be happy with that job. What is in your soap water? I have a deep and gruesome fence scratch on a work truck and just minimizing it's appearance would be fine with me.
That was impressive SIR!!!
Very informative thanks B
Brian after you cleaned out the scratches did you apply touch up paint first and then optimum CCR or did you just go straight in with CCR to fill in the gauge?
Touch up first...then protect with the CCR

Hope all is well good friend.
how could some bird brain give this and follow up videos a thumbs down??Must be another pro who can't understand it..
Great 👍🏻 repair B
Was that polish on a speed of 3? Very impressive
3rd speed setting...yes.
Will CCR work on clear coat wheels I have large 22 inch wheels that I hate polishing maybe all just put that on once a year
I would only use it if the clear is in rough shape. It is an option.
Could you do this video technique then use clear coat restore to help the deep scratches?
Absolutely!👍
Wish you lived in California would take all my cars to have them detailed by you.
Where did you get the needle top bottle?

When is the clear coat hardness reference sheet being released?
Those take forever to create properly.
How much would you charge a customer for a job like that?
if u wanted 2 go farther how much clear could u go down b4 u ruin uva and uvb protectipn
15 microns would be my limit.
Hey there!!
What is your favorite APC?
I have two that I favor....Optimum Power Clean...and CarPro Multi X
Second car I use the rotary on. I burned through my Gf car Paint in a little spot haha oops 😅 I find it strange i did maybe 3-4 quick passes max 1500 rpm worked clean etc. Maybe paint was thin. First car I didn't burn through anything. I'm not scared next car shall me my mom's 😅 I'm ready 🙏
