6:30am: You texted that you’d been contracting since around 4:30am. You got up and took a bath. You asked for some ways to get more comfortable. You were “scared that it’s not real again”
7am: Asked me to come
8am: I arrived. You were on your hands and knees leaning on the birth ball. Ctx were intense and close. You were frustrated by having to blow your nose. Nick was placing an Instacart order. You wanted a tropical smoothie but they weren’t open yet. Nick planned to order one once they did (spoiler…that timing did not work out!)
8:04: I texted Janelle to come. I started filling the tub
8:30am: No more hot water. I put some pots on the stove and turned on the tea kettle. You got into the tub. “I’m not as chatty this birth. I just got right to it” We discussed music. You wanted a fireplace/snow/youtube video
8:50: Humming. I don’t think Nick had a clue how close we were to having a baby. Waldo started making noise with you while you contracted
9:06: Janelle almost there. I said, “You can have a baby now”
9:10am: Janelle arrived. Instacart had delivered.
9:24: Water broke. Immediately crowning
9:25: Birth
“I already feel lighter in my stomach”
9:38: Bed
9:48: Placenta
10am: Baby pooped all over the place. Cord clamped/cut
10:05: Latched on
10:10: Waldo met his new puppy
10:30: We helped you up to pee. Skin to skin with Nick
10:37: Ibuprofen and afterease herbal tincture
“He looks so different than Hudson”
10:45: You were doing your make-up
11:06: Newborn exam. 8lbs 8oz
“He really doesn’t cry a whole lot”

I’ve been watching your videos since the early makeup days but about 8 months ago finally watched your first birth video, since we are pregnant with our first and are wanting to do a natural birth. I cried then and I’m crying now, as I watch your second birth, only a few weeks away from giving birth myself. These videos have been such an inspiration to me as I prepare to give birth naturally and I’m so thankful to the Lord for my baby and yours. He is so so good!🩷

First of all, congratulations! On both your beautiful boy and a fast labor 🙌🏾 hahaha. I loved seeing the doula notes in here! When I was in labor with my first, it was so hard for me to read my body’s cues and know what it was doing. But seeing her watch you and react to the way you were laboring was so cool and helpful! @@hannahhurlbjt3670 Girl if you haven’t had a baby NATURALLY you shouldn’t talk😂 as soon as I got the epidural I didn’t feel a thing and birth was a breeze, but pre epidural at 7.5 cm… yeah I felt those contractions and could feel them through the video, that’s called being an Empath. Unfortunately, I can genuinely feel what other people feel. I never knew what birth felt like before having a baby, but now that I had a baby and didn’t get my epidural until almost 8cm dilated I know what it feels like lmao. My cousin got her epidural right away and doesn’t know what a contraction feels like. There is a difference.

It’s like I needed this video… first thing you said was second babies like to trick you. I spent 14 hrs yesterday with prodromal labor that did get closer and stronger but the contractions never lasted more than 30-35 seconds. This will be my second baby but first homebirth. Anxiously awaking baby girls arrival now, feeling quite tired today because I did a lot of movement hoping things would progress but they never did
Oh girl! If i could tell you anything, rest while you can so that your body can fully embrace Labor with ease 🙌🏼 Your body is so close to going full send, so don’t try to force it and exhaust yourself! Esp since this is your second baby. You got this!!

The minute you pushed him out the words “it is so beautiful” were all I could think. I teared up. I’m so excited and scared to experience giving birth and becoming a mother. So many women make it look so easy! Like it’s just a little gym workout or something. Women are so incredibly strong and courageous! Thank you for sharing this. Maybe it will help me have a little dose of exposure therapy. The Creator is magnificent.
