For many of us the words “Family Meeting” conjure up the idea of more bad news from our president - and yet in the same breath “Family time” also speaks to a country that’s standing united against a common enemy as we listen carefully to what we can do, as a greater family, to care for and protect one another. And nothing says I care about you - quite like wearing a mask.
Masks are critical to help prevent fellow South Africans from getting and spreading COVID-19. A mask offers some protection to you, but it especially offers protection to those around you - if … and ONLY IF… you use and wear it properly, otherwise you defeat the purpose of wearing a mask.
So how shoud we wear our masks?
• Clean your hands before you put your mask on, as well as before you take it off, and after you touch it at any time.
• Make sure it covers both your nose, mouth and chin.
• When you take off a mask, store it in a clean plastic bag, and every day either wash it if it’s a fabric mask, or dispose of it if it’s a medical mask.
• Don’t use masks with valves.
• And Don’t share your mask - in this case sharing ISN’T caring!
Now more than ever, your family needs you - they need you to care, by always wearing a mask, and wearing it properly.
