What is the reason of another OS.. Do they have something in mind that will really make a change in the market ?
Don't pay a single penny to Google for using Google TV.
greed
Google decides to much how to implement features on google TV. That makes it difficult for TV makers to implement, The advertising google does on its OS will not go to TV maker.
They don't wanna be depended on google. They want to make an OS to share and earn money with it.
The same reason a corporation does anything corporate greed
That means a poor application catalogue
Yep this is very sad. If they do this eith their OLED TVs I'm honeslty going to switch back to Sony.
I know Philips can avoid paying Google the licenses but this is concerning for app availability. I can't believe the 2024 range only the 9 series oled will have Google TV...
TP Vision have lost the plot!
But lets not knock it until we try it. But there not even making the OS and even JVC (CURRYS RETAIL) TVS WILL HAVE TITAN OS. REALLY? This is Philips we are talking about. What image are you doing Philips Brand TP Vision? When a consumer sees the same Titan OS on a high end 8 series Philips as that on a crappy JVC??
What are the technological (backend) differences Titan OS vs Saphi OS which was created by Philips earlier? Is this system based on Linux? Is Ambilight supported?
probably just the name
Looks really similar to SaphiOS, I hope it is just a next iteration of it. I have PML9008 from 2023 and hopefully it will be updated to this "TitanOS"

you don't like google tv?
Can you install another appli like IPTV or Iboplayer whith titan OS please ?
No numbers to change channels on the remote? I can have "ordinary" tv or Google tv when i start the tv, I have set "ordinary" on my tv. Only use Google when I want to watch something in an app (usually free swedish apps). Sometimes I cast it from my phone (don't think it will work anymore, no chromecast built in with the new OS).
Bad move Philips!
That looks concerning af. I'm waiting for my Philips TV to be delivered and hope there's a major update from what I'm seeing here.
My parents just got a new philips with this OS and it’s shit honestly. Missing the 3 entertainment apps they used to most so now requiring to cast using a third party app. If i knew i would never use this garbage.
@@KlwPvP which entertainment apps are missing please?
@@misssparkle8317 Norwegian streaming apps that almost every other TV has, and the previous Phillips also had. They have netflix and the most popular stuff but the whole app store was something like 20 apps total
@@misssparkle8317 if you only use the english streaming services then you are okay, but country local apps are gone
@@misssparkle8317 i tried answering but my comment was deleted, ill try again. missing my country (Norway) local popular streaming shows that were on the previous phillips tv. The whole app store was basically 20-40 apps total.
LOL... Just looks like every other TV OS, mainly LG Web OS without magic remote...
No voice command... maybe next year.
Until now i like WebOS(speed and stability) on LG, and magic remote(the best speed remote for me, until now)
Que merda de sistema
Looks like poor version of Google TV 😂
I think that Titan OS is android TV with there own skin on it.
and smaller selection of apps
looks slow. no one wants this Philips
Looks no different at all than anything else already out on the market. Yawn.
