I purchased the Citadel Minimal R2 in late 2019 prior to embarking on a research trip to Germany. Brilliant as a carry-on and for EDC when I got there. As you say, slim enough not to be a problem on public transport and, importantly for my purposes, this also allowed it to fit comfortably in those narrow lockers you get at libraries and archives. Very impressed.
This bag looks fantastic, you can tell it has an outstanding quality! Love the feature that it stands up by itself, 99% of EDC bags out there don't have that. Awesome review as always :)
Thank you so much Bo! I really appreciate the support and all of the inspiring content you continue to put out, still don’t know how you managed to make such a great review for this one and keep it under 10 mins! :)
Thank you for watching and for the positive feedback! I don’t have anything planned for the forge just yet, but it looks great and if there’s one available to test out I will definitely try to do a review for it!:)
Thanks for the review, I really like your way testing bags. But one word to your mentioned alternatives at the end of the video. To me the errant Pack does have too many negative things. First of all the annoying closing mechanism at the top of the bag. It does only work if the bag is almost fully loaded, otherwise you have to try it a few times until they closing mechanism snaps in. And if you use all of the small accessorize bags the main compartment doesn't have much space left to use. Put some shoes with size 10.5, and there ist almost no space left inside of the bag. Thats no good product design in my opinion. Tom Bihn shows us, that it's possible to do this very much better.
I agreed with your opinion. Yesterday I have ordered black ember citadel r2 modular triple kit with 35% discount. I also checked the errant pack but after all pros and cons I have selected black ember over boundary supply.
Thank you for watching and for the suggestion! I hadn’t heard of that one before but it looks pretty cool! If I can get my hands on one to test out I would be glad to review it!:)
Would you be able to do a review on the Nordace Siena smart travel backpack? I keep seeing insta ads and stuff on it, but I see mixed reviews everywhere.
Thank you for watching and for the suggestion! I have seen a few ads for that one as well and if I can get my hands on one to test out I would be glad to review it!:)
Thank you for watching and good question! I keep the review units I receive, but will sometimes sell some of the bags I have purchased on my own to fund other items for future reviews :)
Thank you for watching and good question! I keep the bags that I receive as review units, but will sometimes sell some of the bags that I purchase myself so in this case I will be holding onto the Citadel. Hope that helps a bit and please let me know if there are any additional questions I can help answer about the bag!:)
Thank you for watching! The bag doesn’t feel overly heavy in my opinion and with its harness system the bag has felt comfortable even over a longer period of time. Hope that helps a bit and please let me know if there are any additional questions I can help answer about the bag!:)
Thank you for watching and that’s a fair point! I normally travel with a shoe bag and I’ve started placing my shoes in a packing cube or shoe bag during the videos as well to better represent what my packing setup looks like:)

Thank you for watching and for sharing your experience! I’m glad to hear the bag has workers well for you, I was definitely impressed as well!:)

Thank you for watching and for the support! I was definitely excited to see how well the bag stood on its own, wish more bags had this feature!:)

A well thought out review, do you have any plans on reviewing Black Ember Forge?
Thank you for watching and for the positive feedback! I don’t have anything planned for the forge just yet, but it looks great and if there’s one available to test out I will definitely try to do a review for it!:)

They seriously have to make this in cordura! They are going to do that with the forge but i always preferred the R2!
Thank you for watching and it would definitely be cool to see the R2 in cordura as well!:)
Do you keep all the bags that you review?
Thank you for watching and good question! I keep the review units I receive, but will sometimes sell some of the bags I have purchased on my own to fund other items for future reviews :)
Traveling Salseros I'd love to see a full bag collection video someday, your videos are great btw!
I read that sometimes you sell the backpacks that you test. Are you going to sell the minimal?
Thank you for watching and good question! is it heavy? for travel use like almost 8 hours of carry (urban edc)
Thank you for watching! The bag doesn’t feel overly heavy in my opinion and with its harness system the bag has felt comfortable even over a longer period of time. Hope that helps a bit and please let me know if there are any additional questions I can help answer about the bag!:)
This bag looks like a god damn fridge
This bag remind me of the asus rog ranger bp3703 backpack
Thank you for watching! I hadnt heard of that one before I’ll have to try to check I out!:)
@@dannypacks I was planning to order the Asus ranger bp3703 backpack but I'll get it next year
I have the exact same playing cards, not the bag...
The bag looks nice, but not affordable for me
Thank you for watching! And good choice on the cards, I’ve been enjoying them quite a bit!:)
i still cannot accept the fact that keeping shoes in backpack without a additional bag to store the shoes.
Thank you for watching and that’s a fair point! I normally travel with a shoe bag and I’ve started placing my shoes in a packing cube or shoe bag during the videos as well to better represent what my packing setup looks like:)
First wooo
Thank you for watching!:)
sad that the bag is so ugly.
