This video is part of a series of Criterion Collection videos to help share recommendations during this current Barnes & Noble 50% off Criterion sale.
In this video I got to talk with my good friend Tim from the RUclips channel Tim Talks Talkies about classic films in the Criterion Collection. Tim (like myself) has a passion for classic films, he's got an unbelievable film collection, and as always I just had a blast getting to talk movies with him.
I hope you enjoy our conversation and get some recommendations for the current Barnes and Noble 50% off Criterion sale.

Glad I picked up Arsenic & Old Lace this round. Tim, always pushing that Summertime. I'll have to pick it up next time. Great recommendations!

I agree about Night of the Hunter. The first time I saw it, I was so scared. I love Robert Mitchum, but he truly scared me. I love that Tim loves classic movies. I grew up watching older movies and I always thought I was alone in my love for older movies. Great to know that I am not! Love the videos!

Night of the Hunter absolutely still holds up! It is so well done. I really enjoyed it. Yes I am so glad Tim is into classics also, he’s always a lot of fun to talk movies with. The 30’s & 40’s are my favorite decades of film. Thanks so much for checking out this conversation!

Great discussion and recommendations. I also would like to thank Tim for his recommendation awhile ago of ‘On the Beach’ … not a Criterion title, however, I would not be surprised if it entered the collection someday.

Tim always has such great recommendations! I still need to see On The Beach as he recommends it highly. I might pick up the Kino edition of it in a future sale. Thanks so much for checking out this video!

Tim gave a big push to Night of the Hunter, watched it solely because of his recommendation, great film. The only other 50s film I've seen to date is also quite dark, Diabolique 1955. I will have to check out some of the titles he mentioned, Arsenic is at the top of the list already, endless praise from pretty much anyone who has seen it. Happy Thanksgiving 🦃

Night of the Hunter is amazing and yes Tim got me onto that film too. If Tim recommends a film, I trust him. He’s got great taste, especially when it comes to the classics. Thanks so much for checking out this conversation. Happy Thanksgiving to you too!
