You're absolutely the worst at analyzing photography. It didn't matter which of the 3 phones were doing the best or the worst or just okay, 70% of the time you were just flat out wrong. It's almost like you had the photos mislabeled. If you didn't, then got have some serious biases for certain phones when it comes to certain shots.
Max, you might want to compare color accuracy by taking a picture of an orange, a banana, a pear, and a grape. Everyone knows what these look like in real life.
Since it is the age of cameras iphone put everything into the camera this year. I hate using iphone but this year they have the overall best camera. Now I can't decide whether to get pro max or Note 10.
It doesn't surprise me. Tesla's are the most technologically advanced vehicles on the standard consumer market. I have a Model 3 myself and it blows any other car I've seen out of the water when it comes to the tech built into it.
@@shadowstewie They are great tech cars, not so great on build quality. Hopefully Tesla fixes that (thin paint, condensation in headlights, misaligned body panels, etc.)
@@richarda3764 I know that was an issue in the early builds. Not so much anymore. I had mine delivered in May 2019 and I haven't had any issues with anything. - I'm gonna give a point to the iPhone because it got the white balance right *A few moments later* - the iPhone got the most true to life white balance but doesn't mean it looks better, so I'm gonna give this point to Pixel 4 So what's the logic here? Are you choosing the pictures you like more or the ones that look more natural?
Max is spot on when he says having the trues't white balance doesnt mean it looks the best. Iphone, Pixel i found seemingly both hit and miss white balance whilst giving the photo a bit of their "flavour" Pixel flavour: Usually cooler and more contrasty Iphone flavour: Usually warmer and brighter shadows. In conclusion i think all 3 phones are literally on par. No one better than the other. The only difference is some phones due to their "flavour" choices, make certain photos look better for example: 1. Samsung punches up colours. This looks good for landscape photo's, not so much of people 2. Iphone brings up shadows a lot. This looks good in darker images so you can see things 3. Pixel cool's the image and contrasts it. This looks good when taking images of objects Tl;dr If you're buying any of these phones for the "best camera" you're doing it wrong. They are all the same. @@CaptainCaveman1170 yeh millions of people still using it for enjoyment and make money. Everyone wants to nick pick at technology yet we live in an era that we have this device that can do so much.
I wouldn't say they smashed it out of the park. Note, pro mate, and pixel all have their own strengths and beat iphone in some areas. But yeah overall iphone has the best camera.
Agreed. Note 10 isn't far behind though. Pixel 4 is disappointment of the year. In terms of camera, they sell the same phone second year in row. That's a failure, Google!

Nice work. BTW, I've notice a trend in these reviews: one moment dynamic range is the most important thing ever, but whenever the iphone shots have no clouds or details, it's completely forggoten. The same applies to the front camera of the apple's phone: wow so much detail, but where are the clouds? the edge detection is poor and the night mode inexistent. The wide angle is the most interesting alternative camera, but the iphone's one is not as good as the others. And overall it's still the best? I simply cannot understand.

I feel like no one is taking night pictures correctly with the Pixel 4. You really have to use the night vision correctly and the results are out standing. My Pixel 4 has been giving my DSLR a serious run for it's money with night shots.

such a biased comparison!!! 7:00 "the note10 does an excellent job on edge detection"!!! really? do you even see the edges of the hair??? 7:30 "the samsung definitely does the best job in edge detection of random objects"!! I think I do not see ANY edge detection going on in Samsung's photo! but the iPhone is really the overall better camera this year.
Useful comparison shots and analysis! How much weight it gives to purchase decisions, depends on usage case. I think the portrait shot around 5:20 is the most revealing and useful -for myself - though not exploring HEIF was a mistake. Samsungs 15Mb jpeg file size would be halved with a HEIF (or HEIC) shot, likely sharper, more detail w/smaller file size. The 11 Pro supports it as well. No word yet on Pixel even though format is supported in Android 10. Perhaps a dedicated video, comparing JPEG and HEIF? Thanks!
Thanks for doing this man ! I just bought the Note 10 and I am a pretty solid portrait, landscape and food photographer and I can't wait to go to go to work with this thing !
At 2:25 take another look at the Note's photo. It failed bigly on edge detection when you look at the water that didn't get blurred between the anchor legs.
Hi, great video. Question for you, I have the Pixel 4XL and what best settings would be for video and photos on this phone? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you
I've used all 3 phones, and agree 100% with your selections - I've noticed exactly the same stuff. Samsung nails most of the 'portrait' shots of anything, but images are poorer quality. Pixel 4 camera just isn't quite right - I actually preferred the Pixel 3. iPhone drives me crazy with its limitations in software vs Android, but is the best all round camera (I use Halide for portraits shots of anything but people - it has much better edge detection). Nice review!!
Things i want in a camera : great zoom , great portrait mode , great edge detection, great detail , great macro shots , and i need my night time photos to look like night time photos not like daytime
Have any recommendations for mirrorless or small camera that isn’t too much bigger than a smart phone (not dragging around my Nikon DSLR and lenses etc). Also preferably good video with manual controls? 1080p 24fps? 4K at 24fps? Not too compressed to mix with pro cameras?
One thing that is huge, and that is, if you want to take raw photos which will blow all these others away in post production, you only have 1 choice. The note 10.
Very professionnal! I seen some video more HD than that to see the quality of the picture... And you need a littebit more structure. Ex: to have the title of the thing you look with the picture ... But yeah.. Good job this answer my question to see which is the best :)
FYI, white balance means ensuring that white looks white, and not capturing the scene as you see it, Our eyes don't have white balance correction. If you prefer shots to look as you see it, the the camera is not correctly white balancing.
Very detailed video. Including panorama. Great to see deep fusion doing its thing and using the smallest file size. Sad that deep fusion not matching super res zoom quality but that can wait. I’m curious if deep fusion work in city street lights shots before night mode? Just a curiosity, since it was said that night mode only kick in at very low lux level, I was guessing deep fusion to work at something between a wideangle f1.8 at iso 400 up to 1600 and night mode anything above 3200. Another curiosity, deep fusion on the non pro wideangle, will it allow for a good enough 1.5x crop, or 1.8x. video comparison please. Much thanks
on a side note I have a suggestion, for every comparison rank the photos from best looking 1 point and least best 3 points, the lowest total will be the best looking, in the mean time it makes it easier to see which is more consistently good looking.
Of course its small file size on iphone and pixel they only have 64 GB base storage, btw on the note 10 you can use HEIF format whic uses less storage.
@@MA-cx9os Yup that's the default on iPhones, HEIF, still impressive considering deep fusion churns out 24megapixel photos. Have to say the $700 iPhone 11 is a very good balanced phone. Not sure if missing the telephoto will hurt. Was hoping deep fusion will mitigate the missing telephoto.
@@PTYC933 I realy use telephoto on my smasung S10 so its not a big deal, but i thing the reason for a 15mb pic on a note is that you cam change background blurr and you can change background effect.
Hi Max great video as usual , but I think you missed 2 points for the Samsung. at 5:48 and 6:52. Also 15mb doesn't matter for the note as you can get 1tb of storage the only difference was 20mb in the total pictures you took between the pixel and the note. you should give the note a extra point for that as storage is a really important part of taking pictures. no point marketing a phone for its camera when you have to keep deleting pics. So the overall scores should have been Iphone 14 Pixel 11 Note 10+ 10 (didn't add the point for storage)
Watching this video at late night, asking myself why all their shoots are yellowish. Then realized my tablet night shift has activated since it’s my bed time.
Galaxy Note 10 is the best all-around Smartphone IMO. The Camera might be bested ever so slightly by the iPhone, but it is totally worth the trade-off to have the freedom/completeness of Android in your pocket and not be under Apple's thumb 24/7. The iPhone still needs to get rid of those terrible orangish skin tones, and the Pixel (unbelievably) still makes people look way too blue and sometimes scary.
But the flower in Note10 photo lost all its detail. I just need to tweak the staturation slide in lightroom to turn iphone photo to samsung one, but how can you turn the samsung photo to iphone or pixel photo? when the data already lost?
05:38 edge detection of your face of iphone 11 is completely wrong and imo is far more important than the detail in the buttons. Note10+ on this one, even if it lost detail on your clothes.

Good video, let's add the Huawei Mate 30 Pro next!!
Great video guys!! Awesome job 👏👏
Very professionnal! I seen some video more HD than that to see the quality of the picture... And you need a littebit more structure. Ex: to have the title of the thing you look with the picture ... But yeah.. Good job this answer my question to see which is the best :)
Does deep fusion work during portrait mode?
how often do you get to seattle?
FYI, white balance means ensuring that white looks white, and not capturing the scene as you see it, Our eyes don't have white balance correction. If you prefer shots to look as you see it, the the camera is not correctly white balancing.
I didn’t expect the pixel to blur out the foreground in portrait shots
@@MA-cx9os that's why my next phone will likely be s10e, I like the smaller size phones
So the overall scores should have been
Iphone 14
Pixel 11
Note 10+ 10 (didn't add the point for storage)
apple is the locomotive of technology
Google really let us down... Hopefully, we will see a comeback next year with better camera quality, battery life and screen to body ratio.
Another detailed reviewer 👍🏼
4:20 IPhone is iPhone no comparison
Yea 😍
Both device's R best in class camera but pixel 4 very gorgeous😍
Samsung does better job with portrait colours somehow. The iphone seems to have trouble with orange cast on portrait?
Note 10❣
No clear winner... They all trade blows with each other
Good comparison. Look at Marques and Super Saf's comparison between iPhone and pixel 4.
05:38 edge detection of your face of iphone 11 is completely wrong and imo is far more important than the detail in the buttons. Note10+ on this one, even if it lost detail on your clothes.
