I’m curious if stolas is letting some of his true feelings about blitz out when he says “idiot, halfwit, wretch” after all he hasn’t seen blitz’s start at redemption with others so I bet stolas is still hurting to some extent

Aka sure he's an idiot but that exactly what he loved about him, blitz isnt high strung, isn't bound by the social hierarchy, and just acts how he wants In spite of the danger no matter how stupid that is it's also beautiful and something completely beyond his world of social classes, paperwork and Social Obligations. For me at least this song is a finally open and honest conversation with each other where both their walls and grand perceptions of themselves have completely been taken down for stolas he's given up on that ideal Perfect fantasy of a relationship he saw with blitz and is now open to the possibility of a true relationship but even more so is ready to sacrifice himself for blitz(As the Saying goes Love is sacrifice), meanwhile blitz is willing to sacrifice himself to save everyone around him and likely believes this sacrifice will cut his so called angel(Stoalas) Free from the strings that bind them but in being saved by him his self hatred and love for stolas aren't able to strangle each other out and partially bleed together analogous to a codependency where at least to blitz his hatred makes him feel non functional without stolas who as he put it is his heart as he's now felt what real love is without any walls of dishonesty or contractual obligations and fear in his way he's able to truly love stolas because he's literally using Stolas's love to supplement his lack of self-love and by the end of this song they both realise that they'd been the very thing in the way of each others love
That's the point, that's him helping. He's not calling Blitzø names because he means it, he's doing it to make himself seem superior and Blitzø insignificant so that the court believes his confession. He doesn't want to be framed as the victim, he wants to be seen as the villain to ensure the blame falls on him and not Blitzø. He's saying "how dare you think this thing so far beneath me could ever have committed this crime, you're insulting me by blaming him" to get Blitzø's name cleared.

Blitzø trying to run after Stolas as he sings the line "What are you doing? I don't deserve this!" Is such a small detail but it's hauntingly in character, he knows he can't reach Stolas, but he doesn't want anything to come between them despite having pushed him away before. He never wanted to lose Stolas, he just thought Stolas would be better off without him, but seeing Stolas so willing to give his life for Blitzø reignites his feelings for Stolas. I swear, I might be overanalyzing but I don't care, its my headcannon and I fucking love this show
Also, this doesn't really have much to do with what you said, but Stolas is now no longer a man of status, meaning Blitzø might now be able to feel his true feelings, not having to care about 'Stolas not being able to love him', which he thought earlier. This'll make room for the relationship to actually start now, and might get Stolas involved in I.M.P. due to him now living along the rest and also having to make a living. Octavia might now also go on a arc where she tries to discover who caused all of this, with her eventually confronting Andrealphus and Stella.

Andrealphus’ plan makes less sense to me tbh (he didn’t need to involve Blitzø at all, but I guess he was relying on Stolas’ emotional response making it worse).

There’s a LOT of different musical inspirations in this song. The part where he said “that you thought that you caught the schemer of the schemes I WROUGHT” are weirdly Ted Neely-ish in their delivery (Jesus Christ Superstar). The lead up to the “fuck it, I am the mastermind” part is very Nightmare Before Christmas. And there’s more too, I’m just not the best versed in popular musicals. Overall, it’s not my favorite song because of that, but I could listen to Satan’s part forever.
