Im pretty sure he's trying to appeal to everyone else. If he only speaks positively about Blitz while surrounded mostly by people who dislike the lower class, they aren't going to really care about what hes saying.

Does anyone notice where Lucifer’s seat is? It has webs on it with a rubber duck and a paper that says “BRB” on it. And if you know in Hazbin Hotel, when Charlie explains the whole story about hell and Lucifer, it can show that what Satan says in the song about himself is a lie. Satan lied about himself.
If he didn't take the blame he could have blamed Stella for striker's attempted assasination. He kinda screwed himself over. He was there when she hired the assasin against him.
Blitz would still be fucked. The assassination attempt was only added on, the original crime would have been valid. He did use the book illegally to go to the human world. Stolas had to take the blame for the original crime for Blitz to be safe.
Saddly Stolas is not the type of person who tells the truth thet can harm someone else even if its Stella... Saddly he will always choose to sacriface depresed and devastated himself. Thats the way he is. He is too good and way to caring for others, even for his enemies, because he thinks that would be better for everybody when he just disapear, because he feel unloved, worthles and he's psychicaly not able to kill or phisicly hurt on purpouse someone else even if it's right way to revange, bring justice or save himself from deadly danger... That's the other reason why he sticks to Blitz (being a little bit obsessed about him 😅), who has apperance of an asshole but is carring, cute and soft potatoe inside that will do all those things he's not capable of to save beloved ones if its necessary, if it's not, he will sacriface himself like him for the same reason. That's what he saw and knew, Blitz is able to do things what Stolas can't and what's magnetasing and arousing him. His opposite but still respecting the others, by their own specific way. They complete eachother, but still they have the same goals and rules they following.
