those bounty hunters are so badass and you're definitely putting a beating on them but DUDE I'm seriously in love with those prospectors in oil tan Latigo!!!
Whoa, I recently ordered some Bounty Hunters in nearly the same exact make up as your boots! 7 inch, Natural CXL uppers, Cinnamon Waxed Flesh lowers, Vibram 430 sole. Patina looking real good on them!
Thanks for showing off the boots. I really like how the natural Chrome Excel aged! What I would do for some Renegade Boots in Wicket and Craig Natural Veg Tan! But that leather tears quite easily sadly so no go on it. I definitely recommend Saphir Medaille D'or for Oiled Leather for the Latigo. It is much more of a match compared to Bick 4. I have had my Latigo boots from Nick's since May last year and I felt they aged very well with it. That was the recommendation I got direct from the leather maker as what they felt was the best match and I have to say I agree. That said nice to see the difference in the patina between yours and mine, it definitely darkens up depending on the conditioner. I definitely notice the leather changes once it heats up too! All day long walking around though the veg tan seems more supportive, it gets comfortable but never hugs you in the way that Chrome Excel does. From what I understand though we'll both be saying the opposite by the time we are ready for a resole. I think the Bick 4 might be lending itself to darkening more. Latigo is more of a lot of oils with just a touch of beeswax emulsified so Bick 4 is less of a match for it, given the ingredients of what goes into it. I also have a pair of boots in Essex and Dublin. The natural dublin feels a lot softer than the Wicket & Craig but still sturdier like the Latigo veg tan with quite a bit more wrinkling across the vamp. The essex is buttery soft very much akin to Chrome Excel but patina's better and you can see the grain of the leather better. Essex can be treated a bit more versatilely, but it is tanned more akin to Shell Cordovan vs Dublin which is treated with a lot of wax and oils. Still I love seeing the comparison to the Whites. I only have the HNW last from Nick's which seems like a perfect match. So I wonder how the fit might feel in the other two? I had little to no break in with the HNW, slowly breaking in the footbed though. I have been debating on getting the 11067(sprung toe) or the 55(classic) last for one more pair of Nick's. I'm on my feet on concrete flooring for the most part. If it isn't too much trouble do you have a recommendation on which of the twi might work better given your experience? For reference I have low arches, I already know my size in the 55 last but never did find my size out in the 10067 due to them not having a trial pair available. Please and thank you and once again love the patina and the info!
@@trinityhandmade3864 absolutely agree. When it goes from black to brand new veg. Tan it's way too much. The tones are perfect, and the patina, and markings in the waxed flesh really ties it together.
@@robertpatton960 I think Dr. Sole actually just released one. Aside from them I'd say maybe Frank's boot company might be willing to do it. They like fun customs, but if not they'll tell ya. Aside from that, I'm mainly seeing them from Indonesia and China. Check Pinterest and Instagram if it's out there, you'll see them on there. Maybe Reddit. I'll keep my eye out, and let ya know if I find anything else. Let me know too if you do first.
Instead of stitching the Kiltee to the Tongue; Punch 2 lateral holes 0.5inches apart halfway up the vamp and thread the lace through. Or, better yet, make 2 vertical parallel slits about 0.25-0.5inches apart and thread the laces through. Or, get a velcro strip and glue them to the tongue and kiltie. Either one of these idea will ensure easier removal during cleaning and its super easy a DIY
Dude, thank you! I really appreciate that, I’m just trying to share cool boot stuff without adds or anything unnecessary, I figure you’re here to see the boots not my face lol.
I agree with the whites being more comfortable. Even when you compare the same 55 last, Nick's have a much higher heel stack, so your feet are not as balanced, like your standing on a downward slope. I haven't worn my Nick's long enough to know if they end up being more comfortable but so far they keep getting better as I get used to the higher angle, whereas my whites arch support felt balanced in all the right places from the beginning. Does anybody else notice how the arch support feels different because of different heel heights? Should I keep wearing my Nick's builder pros or just sell them and get some bounty hunters?
Although they are the same last Nicks profiles their arch slightly different and that’s likely what you are feeling. Don’t give up on the Nicks, what they require extra in break in they will deliver down the road with extra years from that bulletproof construction.
Those Prospectors look great man! How's the arch support with that lower heel and the 67 last compared to your Bounty Hunters (or any other boot you own built on the 55 last)?
Still very supportive, I’d say if 55 is “high” then 67 is medium. I’d put something like Alden Barrie or White’s MP in the Low category and something like Viberg 2030 in the None category. 67 would be a good into into real arch support without being shocking like 55 can be to some people.
Right on! Jk looks great for the fire crowd for sure. If franks starts making some sleeker models like nicks I’ll Order a pair. They are just a little too beefy still for me for casual boots. But of our the 3 you just named I think Frank’s has the most potential moving forward. Nicks is obviously king but they kind of have been for a while their range is pretty big
Love how the nicks look different now compared to the original video when they were new. Do you have any comments on the 1067 Classic arch? Did you experience any discomfort? Do you have experience with their moderate arch and how it compares?
@@altezahen_N I have the HNW last which I had little to no break in with. A lot of it comes down to sizing. I have to choke up a full size down from Brannock on the 55 last and EE where as I am unusually true to size on the HNW last and D width. Most people are a half size down from Brannock on it. Bottom line as long as you get fit correctly there should be little to no discomfort especially in the first 15-20 minutes of wearing the boot. Mileage will very depending on how much your arches, and volume of your feet fit from there.
Latigo tends to vary for sure depending on wear and tear and conditions. I would love to see how my pair from last May compare to the 1964 leather long term.

I ordered a couple full custom 8” boots from them in the past and they refused to make them like that for me. They just said that they have 1 template they use to trace them out and that’s all they will do. The ones they included look like they may get to the top of a 6” boot.

How about a update comparing this two again. From what I've seen it seems like waxed flesh patinas quickly and looks nice for awhile but after that go down hill.
