And the 6pc Hot EP was fire too that was released during the beginning of the pandemic. The first single that 6lack dropped for this new album has to grow on me. But 6lack has yet to put out a terrible album. And I don’t think the new one is gonna be trash. Joe, will eat those words…watch 🤷🏾♂️

Joe is def referring to how artist and the music they are launching set the stage for them to be received well. JB has a point in why this seems odd.Superstars like,JT,Bey,Drake,can do a hard drop without interrupting their movement.Second tier artist still need that official layout because their music and fan base isn’t so wide and super tuned into what they are doing. We will see. If 6lack drops a mid, he could truly be pushed further down the line and forgotten.

Joe is a jaded artists and he can/will only speak from that point of view. At times it isn't far from the truth, and other times it's far left and out of bounds as far as accuracy goes. Only in today's era can you go platinum in a year and be in danger of "career suicide". It's insane.
Every year another artist falls off it can happen to anyone ..and joe always been highly opinionated it got him beat up by wu and blackballed at Def jam now he has his own platform nothing is out of bounds atleast hes always himself thats what i respect ..its really nothing more rhen another man's opinion and he says he could be wrong
What? We’ve always had artists who are “hot”, platinum album and all, and fall right off into oblivion. The labels are setting these artists up for failure, and unless the artist finds a way to promote themselves, it’s unlikely they’ll succeed. They still have to pay the label back anyway. If pay any attention to the music industry at all you have seen this before, and it doesn’t end well.

6LACK 2nd Album, EALL was a CLASSIC to me. Didn’t think for a second it was considered a “mid” and the Tour was HARD AS FUCK! This take was weird! What I do agree with is, 6LACK taking 5 years to drop an album was definitely buggin’ with that hiatus.
Kendrick Did The Same Too. 6lack Has Substance And It Carries Him Throughout. Joe May Be Eight About Rollouts Because He Really Knows How These Executives Work. So I’m A Little Nervous For 6lack In That Shade. Other Than That. I Know He Is Capable.

If he don’t deliver he can get shelved. This is make or break honestly. This album seems like it’ll be experimental rather than hits. He’s not at that point of his career imo

This ain’t the 90s. 6lack has a following that will listen to everything he does. Ain’t no shelving anymore. If people listen then that’s all that matters. Not people’s opinions of the actual music which I think is pretty good personally. “Mainstream” is just a buzzword. There’s so many different lanes and outlets to hip hop now that all of these different acts can take their own paths and still coexist and succeed. 6lack has never been a super poppy, play me on the radio type artist. He’ll be fine whether you or Joe like his music or not.
And this is coming from someone who was scrolling comments before watching the video and I haven’t listened to 6lack’s newest music either. Just came across this title and thought it was interesting.
No one listens to 6lack for features. That's the problem with music today. Fans don't enjoy solo albums. When I buy a album I want to hear only that artist as a solo act. Every single don't need a feature, and it's no female R&B acts who do what 6lack does musically.

I think the problem is 6lack isn’t really a strong singer, so when the songwriting doesn’t resonate with people, it hits harder. A seasoned singer’s performance can affect how a song is received and carry the song. Also, his lack of vocal ability puts restrictions on his songwriting. He can really only go into that pocket we’re used to and is getting old.
I’ve never heard of 6black but the picture they showed of him on this podcast I swear I thought Steve Urkel grew out some dreads and became a rapper called 6black

I don’t agree with anything here… how they gonna diss East Atlanta Love Letter like that… that’s his best album and one of my favourite R&B albums of all time, a top 5 for me. No Skips on that record and has hits such as pretty little fears which is one of my favourite R&B songs of all time. And there’s other hits on there too. It’s a beautiful concept record.
The only career suicide here is Joe budden showing us that he is bad handling a mic in more then one way...leave it alone.
