I worked in a machine shop several years doing head and valve work and the old guy that was the owner and only one that did the final engine assembly always always used plastigauge to check all bearing clearances & tolerances before final assembly even tho he did the machine work to catch any issues before final assembly. He NEVER trusted that ANY brand new bearings or parts were exactly what they were supposed to be. He checked EVERYTHING before final assembly and would occasionally find brand new parts that weren’t sized exactly like they were supposed to be. In all the years I worked there we only had one 350 small block Chevy come back and it was determined that the young man didn’t follow proper break in procedures, in fact the guy admitted that he had beat on the engine before break in was completed and spun a bearing.
I am prepped 1985 Camaro with 406 Small Chevy with 12.5:1, and I am in my engine stand one Ford 4.6l 2V for modified to 5.0L strocker for my 2002 Mustang GT. In Puerto Rico loves American V8, and I like it Fords and Chevy's. This videos is amazings! Very good teorical tech. 👍💪❤
I found this hilarious. I’ve watched your old videos on your last engine build a thousand times just to gain more knowledge. On the old video and this new one, you couldnt remember “tang” for the bearings. When you said “uhhh I’m having a brain fart on what this things called” I cracked up lol. If you see this comment I guarantee you it’ll never slip your mind again lol
Thank you Andrew for posting this videos with details information...not everyone share details like you, im taking notes as im collecting parts for my 2003 crown vic. im building a sleeper cop car...
Hey thanks for sharing your build. I think it is so awesome that you are building a 2v. The new edge is the best looking mustang ever built. Cant wait to see that 2v in the 7s.
Man I'm jealous I had to put a hold on my turbo 4v build for a minute so breath easy for now but when I'm finished I want a piece of that two valve lol. Can't wait to see that sucker run.
I think you did a good job explaining. I used to be a mechanic and I now assemble aircraft parts, but I imagine most of your audience has some mechanical knowledge.
Nice tips with piston to rod setup. That could make for a bad day if done wrong. Any tips for upgrading to forged rods or rods and pistons in a already running engine. Some say just balance the rods and or pistons and install if clearances checkout, others say the crank will need rebalanced as well. Just looking at upgrading a cheap engine so I can practice boosting and tuning with a little more reliability.
I wondered to this channel watching LS builds... guess RUclips doesn’t understand the difference between the Chevy vs funny ford stuff... 😁😁 But... the content is pretty jam up on this channel so I’m a subscriber! 👍👍 keep up the good work! 👍
Suuuup!!!! Can't wait till its all done.. I know you can't wait. I have a recommendation DEMONOLOGY.. you know should be a cake walk. Watch him get taken down by a 2V. :)
I’m building a 4.6, learning a lot from you, Thank you for doing this
1000+ horsepower 2 v?!?!?! You sir are INSANE. Best of luck to you !

Need to build that 6.0

Thanks for the update. It’s going to be a bruiser for sure.

Great video with useful information. Good luck on the build; looking forward to hearing your beast run!
Awesome Job! Can't wait to see it back together.
Great job on that block. The two valve modular are damn near indestructible even with powdered metal cracked rods and cam sprockets
Lesson to myself..don't let friends use my fuel injectors
Very educational video. Thanks for the knowledge I have a 2v Gt
Good job Andrew and keep up the good work bro. From where did you buy the Accufab 90mm Throttle body? all I can find 75mm?
where did you get those pistons, did you have to have the valve reliefs cut or was it an option when you got the pistons
That's a pretty aggressive camshaft grind. I bet it'll sound great !
Hey man, just wanted to say the intake looks awesome. Thanks for sharing the injector test info, hope everything works out with the new block
Haha got a chuckle when you said "its satisfying sitting here spinning my Cam" lol great video keep them coming!
What style wrist pins do those molnar rods take?
Andy, I've got my fingers crossed for your block to be done this coming week.
Great explanations of exactly how it goes back together bro ! Nice
I'm hoping to catch up by Ford finals at beech bend..
I was thinking about apocalypse performance for rods and pistons too. Mine is an all aluminum 4v. Appreciate the tips on the assembly

Are those Holley injector e85 compatible?
288 wow ! Good thing to do to get them checked and cleaned once a year
Great info shared 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
What heads, trick flow 185’s?
Yes sir

Desert Rat Racer yeah anytime the weight of the rotating assembly changes you need to re balance the crank
@@andrewlavender08 ok thanks
Aeternalis Armentarius no joke 😂...
What’s your opinion on billet Main caps on a aluminum block? Over kill or good insurance?
Eli Gonzalez not needed on a teksid block because the mains are already really rigid
I was just wondering what static compression you ended up with. What fuel are you running and at what boost? Thanks
When you done your 12.1 compression motor, what kind of numbers n/a do you think it made?
1k jeez just trying to get to 5-600 hp
My dude!!!!!
What do you do for a job where you can afford to build a 1000hp 2v lol I wanna know😂
THUMBS UP for the Hobart Welder!!!

Ryan Hughie thanks man I have some LS stuff on the channel too
Okay thanks I’ll check it out.

by the way.... do you have your spare block for sale?
did you use teflon on the fuel rail fittings?
BoostedModular Solutions yeah
Is that a custom made intake
smiley petersen no just an off the shelf edelbrock Vic JR
